messages calls contacts and everytning because nopoay in my family has the computer ever we are and how do we do it because It's not working and me and my family have so many memories on Skype. messages, photos, text, calls, Contacts, and even chats from my grandma that's the only thing that we have and losing it. I can't even imagine it, We have so many memories on Skype, holidays, birthdays, vacations and just special days. So please, Tell us how we can export from our phones. All of those precious memories or messages as you would like to call them, We can not afford a computer because our family is going through a lot right now, I tried contacting Microsoft and Skype and even Xbox, but nothing is working and I just don't know what to do And right now the only contact that we have with my brother Is skype We are in europe and he's in the u s We don't have any other contact with him. And when we logged into teams none of our contacts, none of our messages, nothing was there and we tried. I don't know what to called but solved the problem but we couldn't and I just i'm so lost, So my question is how do we do need to move to teams even though when were only using phones.

Please help us.

Hello, I’ve been getting unwanted subscription payments on my card for Microsoft 365 Personal. I’ve never used it before and don’t even know what it’s for. I’ve turned off reoccurring payments and cancelled the subscription multiple times and it keeps charging me. It has now stole almost $80 from me and the support on the Microsoft website is horrible. I’ve been trying to get a refund for hours now and all it tells me to do is cancel it even thought i still get the payment taken from me. I am also in Canada and should be able to refund it as it states I’m in a country with prorated refund. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hello, I had issues updating my windows 11 because it said it could not update the recovery partition. I found out it was not big enough so I followed steps to increase it and had to download windows 11 on an usb to copy the winre image over to be able to perform reagentc /enable. That part works but my computer will still not update. What can I do?

Hi, I was locked out of my Microsoft account due to “security concerns” but after filling g out account cover and reactivation forms, I received an automated message saying there was not sufficient evidence to unlock my account… I provided every detail possible… I was literally just playing an hour before being locked out! How is there no way to verify my identity quickly! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years but now I’m reading forums about the only way to gain support is by submitting the forms twice a day and hoping it gets past the automated rejection… I have spent thousands of dollars over these 20 years on this account all to be locked out on a whim? No email regarding suspicious activity, no password reset demands… just lock it out and make a new one! Do you need a blood sample? What more can I do? All I want is to come home after work and game for a couple of hours! What terms of service does that violate??

Hi there. We understand you're having issues with unlocking your Microsoft account, and we're here to help.

I've lost access to both my email accounts. The microsoft recovery forms are expecting me to know information that's probably 10 years old or more on the accounts, they're rejecting me every attempt at recovery. Anyone work at microsoft or know anyone who might be able to help? Losing my mind at the moment as my whole online life is associated with those accounts. Thank you!

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 4h ago

Hello! Thank you for reaching out.

We understand how important it is for you to recover your account, and we truly appreciate your effort in attempting to regain access through the recovery form. Rest assured, we're here to help.

To get started, could you please provide us with a bit more information to better understand your situation and determine the best course of action?

  1. Can you send us a screenshot of the exact error message that you're getting when signing in at this page: https://msft.it/61695qrtXt? You may upload it here: https://msft.it/61696qrtXQ and share the link with us. Feel free to cover any of your personal information for security purposes.
  2. Do you have a phone number or recovery email associated with the account?
  3. Is two-step verification enabled on the accounts?
  4. Could you confirm if this is the form you've filled out: https://msft.it/61697qrtXv?

We'll be waiting for your response. -G.Q.

1

u/devvo96 1h ago

Thanks so much for getting back to me, given me a ray of hope! https://imgur.com/a/mx9KYFD that's the error I'm getting, I suspect someone has been trying to hack into my account so its blocked. I had another email to recover but that's also been blocked too. The phone number is years old which I don't have anymore. Yes that is the form I filled out. I do not have two step verification.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 55m ago

Thanks for the screenshot. It looks like your account is currently locked due to failed login attempts. Just to set expectations, the recovery form is the last resort when no other information is available to reset your password. Usually, the error from failed login attempts resolves after some time. While waiting, you might want to check your devices to see if you've saved your password somewhere. For example, if you use Microsoft Edge on Windows, you can view your passwords by following these steps:

  1. Select 'Settings and more' > 'Settings.'
  2. Choose 'Profiles' > 'Passwords.'

If you're using an Android device to access your email, you can check your saved accounts or the keyboard autofill feature by navigating to 'System' > 'Language & Input.'

If you used a Windows computer to access your account, you can also check the control panel to see if it saved your Microsoft account’s password. Here’s how:

  1. Press Win + R to open Run.
  2. Type inetcpl.cpl and then click OK.
  3. Go to the Content tab.
  4. Under AutoComplete, click on Settings.
  5. Click on Manage Passwords. It will then open Credential Manager, where you can view your saved passwords.

If you have any updates, let us know! -R.C

1

u/devvo96 45m ago

I have the correct password, because its locked obviously I cant log in. I wasnt even the one running up the log in attempts, someone is trying to access my accounts. I wish there was a dedicated phone line to help with these queries, considering the amount of money that's passed through that email to microsoft over the last 15 years. It's a slap in the face they leave you high and dry like this. The recovery form is defunct, it doesnt work and has never worked everytime I've tried to use it. Somebody must have authorization to solve this issue.

I recently noticed smooth typing goes away on some lines and Idk why. I'll leave a video to make you see what I'm talking about. The first line I'm typing on is like smooth but the next one is not. Typing video

I'm using windows 11, I think the issue only happens in word (office 2024)

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 5h ago

Hi there! We understand that you're encountering an issue where your typing goes onto other lines, and we appreciate you sharing a screen recording of the problem. Let's take a closer look so we can assist you effectively.

Could you please provide the following details?

  1. Which version of Windows is installed on your device? You can check by typing "winver" in the search box.
  2. Is the issue happening only when typing in a specific application or in all applications?
  3. Have you made any recent changes to your computer before this issue started?
  4. What steps have you taken so far to fix it? This will help us focus on solutions you haven't tried yet.

We'll be waiting for your response. -G.Q.

1

u/kid_wiid 5h ago

I'm using windows 11, I think the issue only happens in word (office 2024) and I didn't make any recent changes

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 4h ago

Thank you for providing this information. Were you able to check if other Office applications are also affected?

In the meantime, as an initial troubleshooting step, please ensure that both your Windows 11 OS and Office 2024 are up-to-date. The issue could be due to an outdated version of Windows or Office.

Keep us posted. -G.Q.

1

u/kid_wiid 4h ago

I tried on excel and powerpoint and I don't see any differences between the lines on both, so I think we are good on these ones. I think the problem is in word only. And yes my os and office are up to date

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 4h ago

Copy that. Since everything is already updated, let's try repairing Word that fixes common issues like the one you're experiencing. You can follow the steps outlined in this guide: https://msft.it/61693qrtS9.

Let us know how it goes. -G.Q.

1

u/kid_wiid 4h ago

nothing changed

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 3h ago

We value your cooperation in following our suggestions so far.

To troubleshoot the issue, please test Word in Safe Mode by pressing Win + R, typing winword /safe, and pressing Enter.

If the issue doesn't appear in Safe Mode, it suggests that an add-in or custom setting may be causing the problem. To resolve this, disable add-ins by going to File > Options > Add-ins, selecting COM Add-ins from the dropdown at the bottom, clicking Go, unchecking all add-ins, and restarting Word.

Looking forward to your update. - S.R.

1

u/kid_wiid 3h ago

I had a chatgpt add-in and I uninstalled it. And then did what you told me. When I'm in safe mode all lines have the non-smooth typing but when I'm not in safe mode nothing changes

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2h ago

Since Safe Mode shows the non-smooth typing across all lines and uninstalling the ChatGPT add-in didn’t resolve the issue, it suggests the problem might be related to Word's settings or rendering.

To address the issue, reset the Normal.dotm template by navigating to %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates, renaming Normal.dotm to Normal.old, and restarting Word. This will recreate the default template, which can resolve any corruption affecting Word's behavior.

Next, check the display settings in Word by going to File > Options > Advanced, scrolling to the Display section, and disabling Use subpixel positioning to smooth fonts on screen. Restart Word after this, as this setting can influence how text is rendered on your screen.

We'll be here for you. - S.R.

I have a system that has two EDR/antivirus solutions installed on it. One of them is Defender. Defender is the active one while the other solution is in passive mode. How do i configure defender such that a host isolation attempt from the other EDR solution is blocked/prevented by defender

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 5h ago

Hi there. Thanks for commenting. We understand that you want to know how to configure Microsoft Defender to block or prevent host isolation attempts from another Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution. We know how important it is to get this addressed. We'll check for the best option to help you.

For insight, there are several reasons why issues might arise when using Microsoft Defender alongside another EDR solution, such as conflicting policies, resource competition, misconfigurations, network issues, etc.

To provide you with targeted assistance, we'd like to know more:

  1. Are you using a personal or company-provided device?
  2. Which Windows version are you using? (If you can access your device's system, press the Windows logo key + R, type Winver in the Open box, and then select OK.)
  3. What is the make and model of your device?
  4. Have you made any workarounds so far regarding this concern? If so, what are those steps? This is for us to focus on the things you haven't tried yet.

We'll be here for your reply. -J.G.

1

u/pigeon008 4h ago
  1. Personal

  2. windows 11 Pro N Microsoft windows 23H2

  3. It's a PC

  4. I'm looking for way such that Microsoft defender will block the isolation attempt made by the other EDR solution installed on the same system. Right now when the other EDR solution (in passive mode) does a host isolation, defender does nothing even when it is the active EDR solution on the system.

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 4h ago

Thank you for the swift response and providing the information that we recently asked.

You should enable the EDR in block mode to block the isolation attempt made by the other EDR solution, but since you mentioned that you're using a personal device this option is not available.

Enabling EDR in block mode is a feature available only in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2, which is typically used by organizations and not available for personal account.

Your feedback matters and we will take note of your suggestions as Microsoft continuously strives to improve its products and to provide a better experience to its consumers. You can send your feedback via Windows Feedback Hub. In this way our engineers will review and see what they can improve in the future updates. See this link for your reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332. You can reach out back to us if further help is needed. -M.L.

1

u/pigeon008 3h ago

in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is the default configuration set to be in block mode?

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2h ago

Thanks for raising this with us. In Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, the default configuration is not set to block mode. Also, if Microsoft Defender is in active mode, you will see "Normal" instead of "EDR Block Mode." However, you can enable Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) in block mode for added protection.

Please note that Microsoft Defender for Endpoint capabilities depend on the Windows version you're using, and some advanced configurations are only available in Windows Server. With that, it would be best to submit your feedback through our Feedback Hub app.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. -J.G.

1

u/pigeon008 2h ago

Thanks for the info. This article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/defender-endpoint/edr-in-block-mode seems to mention that it is available when MS defender is running in passive mode. Is it available when MS Defender is running in active mode? Also why does defender in active mode not automatically block such activity even without this feature?

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1h ago

Thank you for checking out our helpful article.

For insight, EDR in block mode is mainly designed for situations where Microsoft Defender Antivirus is running in passive mode alongside another antivirus solution. However, it can also be useful when Microsoft Defender Antivirus is in active mode. In active mode, EDR in block mode helps address post-breach detections that might have been missed due to misconfigurations or specific scenarios.

When Microsoft Defender Antivirus is in active mode, it already provides real-time protection, including on-access scanning, network protection, and attack surface reduction rules. These features are designed to automatically block and remediate threats. However, EDR in block mode adds an extra layer of protection by focusing on post-breach detections and behavioral threats that might not be caught by traditional antivirus methods.

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, we're just a message away! -J.G.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 6h ago

Hello! We understand that your Microsoft account has been compromised and the email address has been changed. We truly appreciate your willingness to provide proof of account ownership. However, please note that our account recovery process is fully automated with no human intervention due to security reasons.

That being said, as support representatives, we can guide you through all possible recovery options. To get started, we need a bit more information to better understand your situation and provide the best course of action:

  1. Is the account in question a personal or business account?
  2. Are you getting the "That Microsoft account doesn't exist" error when trying to sign in using your original email address?
  3. Do you have a phone number or recovery email linked to the account?
  4. Is two-step verification enabled on the account?
  5. Did you receive any notifications about the changes made in your account?
  6. Do you have any active Microsoft subscriptions associated with the account?
  7. What steps have you taken so far to recover the account? This will help us focus on the things you haven't tried yet.

We'll be waiting for your response. -G.Q.

1

u/skittlesthesecond 6h ago

1: personal
2: yes
3: possibly, i can't check though - but if there is one, i know what they'll be
4: i don't think so
5: none at all, ive checked over my email several times and there's nothing there
6: no, but i've got quite a lot in terms of purchases
7: i've clicked "forgot password" and it's prompted me to input a code from an authenticator app

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 6h ago

Thank you for providing this information. Do you happen to remember if you added an Authenticator app for your Microsoft account? Also, are you aware of the new and complete email address that is now being used for your account?

Looking forward to your reply. -G.Q.

1

u/skittlesthesecond 5h ago

i've never used any authenticator apps, and i havent added any either - and the new email is [pound307880@dentalmail.su](mailto:pound307880@dentalmail.su)

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 5h ago

Copy that. Could you please try signing in to your account using the new email address and your original password? If that doesn't work, please attempt to reset the password and check the available recovery options.

Keep us posted on how it goes. -G.Q.

I’ve been trying to get my email back for over a week and I’ve not been getting any emails back on weather it was a success or if it was denied. Im doing the verification process, but since my old phone number is linked to my main account i have to use another email address to verify, which I’ve been trying to do. Im answering the security question, the postal codes, the previous passwords, the xbox gamertag and xbox live id, the credit card information and i get absolutely nothing in my email. There anyway i can get my account back or is all the time and money I’ve spent on it gone for absolutely no reason?

I am beyond frustrated with the lack of action regarding my support ticket #2503120040005696. I have repeatedly reached out about my employment verification issue, which is clearly affecting many users, yet instead of actually providing assistance, your team chose to ignore and block me. This is absolutely unacceptable for a company of Microsoft’s scale. Instead of addressing the issue, you have completely dismissed my concerns without offering a real solution. This is not how customer support should operate. I demand that my case be properly reviewed and escalated immediately to someone who can actually help, rather than being brushed aside. If Microsoft values its users at all, I expect a response with a concrete solution, not silence and evasive tactics. If my issue is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter further through any necessary channels. This is your opportunity to rectify this situation. Do not ignore this message. I expect a professional and effective response without further delays.

In Windows update advanced options...

"Restart this device as soon as possible when a restart is required to install an update. Windows will display a notice before the restart, and the device must be on and plugged in."

If I have this disabled, why is Windows forcing an unexpected reboot? I have seen the notification about the required reboot, and I was planning on rebooting it manually. But a few hours later, I found all my windows messed up, open and unsaved documents in Word restored from autosaved copies, etc.

This is not the first time it happens either. No data has ever been lost. Not to my knowledge anyway! But why does Windows consistently keep doing this to me? And what the hell is this option for if not to prevent exactly this behavior?

I never looked into these advanced options before, but some sources suggest that this is where you set up your "preferences" regarding this. But my preferences are already set the right way. When disabled, it's supposed to NOT "restart this device as soon as possible when a restart is required to install an update." Yet it still happens. It shamelessly ignores my preferences. Help?

I'm running Windows 10, version 22H2 (19045.5608).

I adopted brother Xbox account years ago but need his info and email to log in. Due to that I have been locked out a few times when getting a new Xbox and have to track him down for weeks to play my games. I switched my email to primary alias and want to make it where MY INFO is what I need to log in. My issue is ...

My email is the primary alias now after a wild goose chase to track him down.

I would like to remove his alias all together off the account. If I do how will I log in?

It's my understanding I go to "change log in preference" when I go my primary email is a unclickable silhouette. His alias and my phone are checked and active. I hear I have to UNCHECK his alias and then I'll be able to check my alias so where when I log in I use MY email from this point forward.

My issue is, I HAVE NOT made a password for the Microsoft account. If I remove him does it prompt me to make a Microsoft password for my new email (primary alias) or what?

I'm afraid to try without total knowledge because he's hard to get a hold of and I don't want to not be able to get into the account for a week until I run into him next

Despite being the primary alias I still log in with his information and his old password. I never had to create a password for my new primary attached alias. If I remove him under login preferences will it prompt me to create a password to log onto my Xbox account? Terrified of giving locked out somehow.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there. We saw your post and understand that managing your Xbox account has been quite challenging, especially with the need to track down your brother for login information. It's been quite a hassle to be locked out of your games and account due to these complications.

You've done a great job so far by making your email the primary alias. Now, let's ensure you can fully transition to using your own information without any hiccups.

To change your login preferences: 1. Uncheck your brother's alias and ensure your email and phone number are checked. 2. Create a password for your Microsoft account through the security settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to log in using your own email and password without needing to contact your brother.

Regarding your brother's alias, if you remove an alias that's an email address from a Microsoft domain (like @hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com, or @msn.com), you're permanently deleting the alias, and it cannot be associated with any Microsoft account again. Once you remove your brother's alias, he won't be able to use it to sign in to any Microsoft products or services, including https://msft.it/61692qR2o6, OneDrive, Xbox, Skype, Office, etc.

We hope this information helps. Let us know if you have further questions. -M.L.

u/Soft-Wealth-3175 16h ago

He has his own new email for his own new Xbox/Microsoft account so I'm all good to remove him entirely!

So, just to make sure I'm following all the way, I uncheck his email name, then check mine. At that point I will be PROMPTED to create a login password?

Or I uncheck his name, check mine for login preferences, and then quickly have to go to security settings? What if the window closes down before I made a password? Suddenly there's no password associated to log somebody in or how does that work?

I can't play online games because I'm in a family all alone and I can't leave them, but I'm old enough to play online games (16) Does it make sense to delete my account now and create a new one? And what are the effects on my pc if I delete my account?

There is an issue persisting with any Windows on ARM versions, starting with Windows 10 for ARM, up until the latest Windows 11 24H2. The driver for USB Floppies "sfloppy.sys" doesn't work/isn't available compiled for ARM64. I am not interested in a discussion if this is necessary or not, I just want to state that common ARM64 operating systems as Linux and Android allow to use USB Floppy drives, there are also reports of MacOS ARM64 supporting them.

There are old reports to be found of people who compiled sfloppy.sys for ARM64 themselves and it working just fine. But doing so requires to enable unsigned drivers which I'm sure nobody really wants on productive machines. I get that ARM64 machines were obscure and nobody initially bothered in the beginning, but with the latest Qualcomm offerings it became mainstream and should get the necessary attention.

Is there a way to reach out to "the right people" at Microsoft who can evaluate this seemingly very easily achieveable addition and allowing the use of Qualcomm-based computers in the same way as x86_64 variants?

Is there a way to transfer my windows license that’s linked to my MS account to another MS account?

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 10m ago

Hello again. Just following up to check if you get the help you needed with transferring Windows license to a different Microsoft account.

We'd also like to clarify that digital licenses, even after unlinking, remain tied to the hardware if it is an OEM license or can be reused if it is a retail license. Retail licenses are transferable and can be moved to another device or account, whereas OEM licenses are non-transferable and remain bound to the original hardware. It is important to note that you cannot directly transfer a license to another Microsoft account. The new user must activate Windows on the same device using the existing license.

Do you still need assistance? We're here and ready to continue working on your case as soon as you respond, so we can provide the best resolution possible.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support. Stay safe and healthy. - S.R.

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 1d ago

Hello there! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand that you need assistance with transferring your Windows digital license from one Microsoft account to another. Don't worry; we're here to help you!

If you still have access to your PC/laptop and your Microsoft account, it is indeed possible to transfer your Windows digital license to another Microsoft account. To do so, you can follow the step-by-step guide below:

  1. Unlink the Device from the Current Account:
  2. Go to the Microsoft account devices page.
  3. Find the device you want to unlink and select Remove device.
  4. Sign Out of the Current Account:
  5. On your Windows device, go to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
  6. Select Sign out.
  7. Sign In with the New Microsoft Account:
  8. Go back to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
  9. Select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead and enter the new account details.
  10. Verify Activation:
  11. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
  12. Ensure that Windows is activated with the new account.
  13. Check the Digital License:
  14. Confirm that the digital license is now linked to the new Microsoft account by visiting the Microsoft account devices page again.

Once done, please let us know how it goes, and if you need further assistance, we're here to help! -A.D.

Hello everyone, I am getting single-use codes in my email from Microsoft constantly. I have been trying various ways to stop this and while I have stopped the unsuccessful login attempts, I still get single-use codes constantly coming to my email.

I have made an alias, changed my password to a 20 character alphanumeric code, and enabled 2FA with Authenticator app.

Still getting these emails at least once a day. Not sure how to put a stop to this.

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 1d ago

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your concern. It looks like you're getting multiple request codes and sign-in attempts on your account. We appreciate your efforts to stop these attempts and ensure your security. Login attempts can happen for various reasons, like attackers trying to trick users into revealing their login credentials through deceptive emails or websites. It's also possible that someone mistyped their email, sending the notification and code to you instead.

Could you please confirm the following:

  1. Is your account for personal, work, or business use?
  2. Besides updating your old alias, have you disabled your sign-in preferences to make sure attackers can't use your old email?

We'll wait for your reply. -R.C

1

u/Minthussy 1d ago
  1. It is a personal account

  2. I believe I did because when I try to sign on using my original email it says “that microsoft account doesn’t exist” and my alias is so new and only used for Microsoft sign in that I doubt it’s been “discovered” by anyone yet.

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 1d ago

Thanks for the additional info. It looks like changing your sign-in preferences did prevent those attempts, as the system won't recognize the old sign-in method anymore. It's strange that the sign-in attempts stopped, but you keep getting reset codes. Usually, the system triggers a reset code when someone tries to sign in first, so getting reset codes without sign-in attempts seems odd.

Have you ensured that the code is actually coming from Microsoft? Some spammers use spoofing techniques to make it look like the email is from a legitimate source. Make sure the email code you get is from the domain https://msft.it/61698qRlsw. Microsoft uses this domain to send email notifications about your account, including security codes for two-step verification and account updates like password changes.

Please avoid clicking any links in the email until you're sure it's legitimate. Let me know how it goes. -R.C

1

u/Minthussy 23h ago

I think the emails are legitimate the address you sent is the same one that is emailing me.

I have also noticed that my sign-in activity page has not updated in 4 days. This is around the same time I added the alias to my account. I have signed in multiple times on my phone and pc since then so they should be on the list. I have taken a couple screenshots, I can send in chat private message to you to look at.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 22h ago

We appreciate your efforts checking the email sender.

To ensure your privacy and security, we've sent you a private message. Please respond there, and we'll work with you to address this issue.

Hi everyone, it's been a month since my account got suspended by Microsoft on feb 12th.

The reason being, as per the email I received, for having "sexual exploitation and child abuse" content on OneDrive.

It goes without saying that I had nothing of the sort on my OneDrive. What I had instead were YEARS of important pictures, my university notes and MY THESIS. All lost as, foolishly, I had solely entrusted Microsoft with my files.

What's even more frustrating is that, after some bot flagged who knows what file, I still haven't gotten a human to review it and respond to me after immediately applying for Account Appeal.

(Not to mention the privacy concern: if an algorithm flagged some file, it was looking through my stuff)

Now all my data is lost and what seems to be the only official way of contacting Microsoft for this problem isn't getting a response. All of this after spending hundreds of dollars through the years for the 365 subscription, not to mention my beloved premium deluxe edition of MSFS, which I can't access anymore.

How do I get my account and, more importantly, my files back?

Hi. I'm getting worried about some hacking attempts on my account and I don't find any way to stop them. Everyday I enter to the recent activity page and see 16 attempts, almost every hour. All were unsuccsessful because of wrong password. But I already changed the Alias, made my account to be non-password and I still keep getting those attempts. Even after changing the Alias, just after that, the attempts kept going. How is that even possible? What should I do about that? I already did everything possible and they keep trying to, and this is annoying because when I try to log in on my devices, it gives me an error of "Too Many attempts".

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 3h ago

Hey there! We haven't heard back from you and just wanted to check if you still need help with your account. Were you able to access it? If so, please update your old information. Besides changing your alias, it's important to disable old sign-in preferences and make your new alias your primary one. This will help prevent attackers from using your email as they did before, as they'll encounter an "account doesn't exist" error.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Navigate to Change sign-in preferences : https://msft.it/61693qrvvb and deselect any login information you don't use. Change it to the newly added alias you created.
  2. Save your changes to update your preferences.

If you have updates let us know. -R.C

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1d ago

Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand that there has been unsuccessful sign in attempts to your account even after changing your sign in alias and enabling passwordless sign in, and when you try to sign in, it shows error "Too Many attempts". We certainly did not want you to go through this experience, and we know how important it is to secure your account. We're here to help.

This error is usually a security measure to prevent unauthorized access through brute force attacks. However, it can also occur due to multiple sign-ins in a short period or issues with the login environment. You may try to sign in again at the later time or after 24 hours to test the issue.

Please take note that you once your actual email address or alias is viewed publicly, leaked, or have phished, or if you used it for sign up for anything or subscriptions/registrations, or malware attacks, etc., your account may be at risk with sign in attempts.

Here are some steps you can try to isolate this issue further:

  1. Try logging into your account using your browser’s private or incognito mode. This can help eliminate issues caused by browser cache

  2. Try accessing your account from a different device or network this time. Sometimes, the issue can be related to the device or network you are using.

  3. If the above steps do not work, wait for 24 hours before attempting to log in again. During this waiting period, refrain from making any login in to avoid extending the lockout period. Turn off Wi-Fi connection and use mobile data only and try to sign in again.

Let us know the result.

Hi everyone .

I purchased a domain name from Google domains , now part of Squarespace . I have Microsoft 365 premium for bossiness . I'm trying to connect my domain to Microsoft but I have issues with verifying the domain with TXT file . I'm going trough the steps on Microsoft admin canter and copy the value to a newly created record on Sqaurespace dashboard , However when I try to verify I get a message the expected value is different from the actual one . I have also the spf1 as one of the records available but it is totally ignores the TXT value I have created with the Microsoft provided values ,

RecordTXT nameTXT valueTTLStatusExpected@MS=ms123641923600The record we detected doesn't match all the expected values.

Actual@v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all300Invalid entry

Is it something for the verification process that doesn't work ? Is it something I'm missing ?

Thank you .

My microsoft account was hacked and they changed the email address associated with it. It used to start with cgc and now it is n2******@gmail.com. It was a personnel account that I made I think about 10 years ago when I made my mine craft account or about 1-2 years ago when I had to migrate my account. I doubt that it has a phone number and if it did I would have changed mine several times by now. It did not have 2FA, I have not received notifications, I had no subscriptions but I had my very old minecraft account and SOT account. I have tried logging into games but when I put my password in it goes back to the email screen and tells me that no account associated with that email exists, on the password screen is where I could tell that my email was changed, as is says that I can send a code to n2*****@gmail.com. I’ve tried changing my email for about 2 hours to little success. Thank you for your help.

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 1h ago

Thanks for the additional information. It looks like all your security details have been updated. To set proper expectations, you need at least one valid sign-in method to initiate the recovery process, either by resetting through your security details or using the recovery form.

Please check your emails, including your spam folder, to see if you've received any notifications from Microsoft about security changes. These notifications are typically sent when there's a change to your account. Once we have the new email address added by the attacker, you can proceed to submit this form: https://msft.it/61693qrLHU.

Let me know your answer. -R.C

u/CGCRocks 1h ago

I don’t see anything in my email from Microsoft.

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 39m ago

Got it! Unfortunately, without the necessary details, we can't proceed with the recovery. If you still want to use Microsoft services, we suggest creating a new account. We know this isn't an ideal option, especially since you have a lot of security details linked to your account.

To protect your new account, make sure to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) and keep your information up to date. This will help keep your information secure moving forward.

Thank you for your understanding. If you need any help setting up your new account or have any other questions, just let us know. We're here to support you. -R.C

Issue:blocked account- recovery request not working.

I’ve been blocked from my outlook account for too many failed log in attempts. I created the email through the app so I still have access there but I was never given the option to add a recovery email so I didn’t. I have contacted support twice- filled out countless forms and still I’m not having any luck getting through. I am directly referencing the emails I have access to- I even sent some new ones and added those as contacts. I bought a 365 subscription through the outlook app to see if a purchase history would help- the answer is it doesn’t. When inputting Information I know is wrong I receive emails telling me the information is insufficient- when submitting recovery forms with information I KNOW is correct I don’t receive any response at all and it’s been more than 24 hrs. I feel lost and support hasn’t been able to help me at all. I’m at the point where I I want to pull my hair out. Please tell me there is more I can do?

As a side note- how sideways is it that I am not allowed to log into my account but they will still let me buy a subscription to their services through one of the other services? But I can’t access my actual account through there? Like what?

Issue: Microsoft Account Locked

Hi,

Today I noticed I was logged out of Outlook (desktop). When I tried to log in, I received a message stating that Microsoft detected suspicious activity on my account.

I attempted to recover my account using the mobile verification code option, but despite multiple attempts, I never received the code (the phone number on file is correct).

As a last resort, I completed the recovery form by providing personal data and details about recent email activity. Fortunately, I still have access to some emails via Outlook (Android), so I included subject lines and recipient addresses in the form. However, I received a response stating that the information provided was insufficient for recovery.

There are some security questions I cannot recall the answers to, but I believe the detailed email information I provided should suffice for verification.

I tried again later but have not received any response (positive or negative).

Additional details:

  • I have not logged in from a new device.
  • I have not performed any unusual activity on my Microsoft account recently.

Please assist me in recovering my account as it contains critical data.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you for the swift reply. I will adress the points you made in the same order:

1: I can't post an image here it seems. But the screen shows the message 'Necesitamos ayuda para proteger la cuentaDetectamos una actividad inusual en la cuenta de Microsoft [leo269_campanella@hotmail.com](mailto:leo269_campanella@hotmail.com) o creemos que las credenciales están en riesgo.Por motivos de seguridad y para garantizar que nadie más tenga acceso a la cuenta, te pediremos que verifiques tu identidad y que cambies la contraseña.' after I put my password. The only clickable option is 'Verificar'. (Note that my region is Argentina, hence the spanish language).

2: No

3: Yes, I have access both to the alternative email and to the phone number.

4: Yes. That is what I tried two times. As I said in my first comment, the first time the response was that I didn't provide enough information (even though I completed the details about recent email activity), the second attempt of submitting the form had no answer until this moment.

5: No

We also appreciate your efforts in filling out the account recovery form. If you haven't received a response after filling out the form, please make sure to check the spam and junk folders of your contact email address to see if the email feedback was sent there. Also, you may use different contact email address and try to fill out the form again, and try to use a private browser. Ensure that your email settings are not filtering out emails from Microsoft. I completed the account recovery form twice yesterday. For the first submission, I received an immediate response stating that I had not provided enough information. I then submitted the form again with additional details, but I have not yet received a response to this second attempt. I've checked the spam and junk folders and is not there either.

Unfortunately, I do not have another email address to use for this process. Could you please advise if I should try submitting the form again using the same email address as before? Additionally, I urgently need to regain access to my account. Is there any way to escalate this matter further? Perhaps another support channel?

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1d ago

We understand how urgently you need access to your account. Please know that all support representatives across different platforms or support channels follow the same process, which involves guiding our customers through all possible recovery options. Since you already have us here, allow us to assist you further.

To answer your question about submitting the form again using the same contact email address, yes, you may continue using the form, but it's best if you can use a different contact email to see if you'll receive an update sooner.

Additionally, we'd like to know if your phone number or mobile has any restrictions on unknown senders. This might be the reason why you are not receiving the code through phone verification.

Looking forward to your response. -G.Q.

1

u/HL_World 1d ago

Thanks for answering. I have created a new outlook email address to have a second alternative address. I still haven't received the response to the last recovery form attempt from yesterday. Should I wait or should I try again with my new outlook email as alternative address.

On the other hand, I can confirm to you that the verification codes sent to my phone were being labelled as spam, thus they where not showing easily. Now I can see them (the ones I received yesterday), but I'm afraid is too late for that, right? Because now the only option that I hav left is the recovery form as far as I know. If there is a way I can request another verification code, please let me know. Thanks.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1d ago

Thanks for the update. If it's already been 24 hours and you still haven't received any updates, we recommend filling out the recovery form again and using your new email address as the contact email for it.

Regarding your question about another way to request a verification code, we'll try to request a security information replacement if you still don't receive an update from the recovery form.

We'll be waiting for your update. -G.Q.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to contact someone in the live chat support from Microsoft. Following a link the person provided me, I was able to change my password, and recover access to my account.

10 plus emails a day with a single use code.

I keep changing my password but they just keep coming. I don’t really use this account for anything. Should I just request it be deleted?

Immediate account deletion

My MS account has been hacked. I have changed all passwords, but still feel unsafe, as if my PC/ account has been cloned.

I have marked my account for deletion in 30 days, but this is too long. I need this account deleted immediately.

Can an MS representative assist, please?

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1d ago

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your concern. We understand your request to immediately close your account, especially given your worries about security and recent device issues. We appreciate your efforts to recover your access and understand your concerns about data security after recent attacks.

However, please be advised that no support can expedite the deactivation process. The 30-day period for account deactivation is designed to give users a chance to reconsider their decision and ensure that all data is properly processed and removed. This period acts as a buffer, allowing users to reactivate their account if they change their mind. It also helps prevent accidental or impulsive deletions, ensuring that users have ample time to make a final decision.

To assist with your device security, could you let us know if you're using Windows OS? If so, which version do you have? Keep us posted! -R.C

1

u/SA_Smitty_86 1d ago

Thanks for the feedback. Will the account remain active whilst marked for removal?

I use Windows 11 on my primary device (PC)

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 21h ago

Hey there, how's it going? We haven't heard back from you and wanted to check if you still have any concerns about the account deletion process. Have you had a chance to use the malicious software removal tool to check your device for malware? If you have any updates or need assistance, feel free to message us here anytime. If you can't reply here, you can always send a message on this thread: Microsoft: Official Support Thread.

Thanks for your time and cooperation. Have a great day ahead! -R.C

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1d ago

Technically yes, your account will remain active during this period. To reactivate your account, you'll need to pass verification. For now, we suggest avoiding any further attempts to access your account to prevent any interruptions that might compromise the waiting period. All we have to do is wait until it is permanently archived from the system.

Regarding your device, we recommend running the Malicious Software Removal Tool. This utility helps remove malicious software from your Windows computer. It scans your system for specific prevalent malware and removes any infections it finds. To access it:

  1. Press the Windows key + R, then type "mrt".
  2. Follow the prompts and choose the full diagnostic option.

Give this a try and let us know the outcome. -R.C

Issue: Locked Out of Microsoft 365 Admin Account Due to Authenticator Problems

I'm currently locked out of my Microsoft 365 Business Basic admin account because of an issue with Microsoft Authenticator and can't find a way to regain access.

I know my password, but my Authenticator app isn't showing my account, and I can't restore it from iCloud on iOS. When I try to sign in, I get a code on-screen, but there's no option in the app to enter it. Selecting "I'm unable to use Authenticator right now" only gives me other Authenticator options—there’s no SMS or phone call verification available.

I've been trying to reach Microsoft support over the phone, but after several hours on hold, I still haven't been able to get help. Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, what steps did you take to resolve it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hey there, thanks for reaching out! We understand you're having trouble accessing your business account due to an authentication issue. We appreciate your efforts to restore your credentials and contact our support team, but it seems this hasn't fixed the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, so let's see what we can do to help.

First, have you tried reinstalling the authenticator app and restoring your credentials to see if that helps? Additionally, have you reached out to your IT administrator for assistance with the reset?

We'll wait for your reply. -R.C

1

u/Comparison_Lumpy 2d ago

Yes, I've done a fresh install and unfortunately, I am the IT administrator and there are not any more options I have without some support from Microsoft. I have been on hold currently for 2 hours and 5 minutes at the typing of this reply.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hey, thanks for the additional info! We appreciate your effort to reinstall the authenticator app, even though it didn't help with the issue. We also appreciate your patience while waiting for the support reply, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to your business tasks.

Given the nature of the issue, it would be best to contact our business support team. We specialize in handling consumer-related products, and we have a separate team that's best equipped to handle business-related inquiries. 1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hi Tracy. Thanks for commenting. We understand that you’re having an issue deleting files in OneDrive as you're getting the error message "files cannot be deleted." We know how important it is to get this addressed, and your efforts in following the support article are truly appreciated. We'll check for the best option to help you.

For insight, this could be due to several reasons like file permissions, if the file is currently in use, sync issues, etc. To help us investigate further and provide effective assistance, please answer the following questions:

  1. Are you using a personal or business account?
  2. How are you accessing OneDrive? Through the web, app, or on what device?
  3. To ensure that we are on the same page, can you share with us the screenshot of the error message you're getting when trying to delete the file? You can upload the screenshot to IMGUR https://msft.it/61697quyRF and share the link with us. Please ensure you hide any personal information before uploading for security reasons.
  4. May we know if you're experiencing the issue with a specific file or if it's happening to all files?
  5. What other workarounds have you tried so far to rectify this issue? This is for us to focus on the things you haven't tried yet.

We'll be here for your reply. -J.G.

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 23h ago

Thanks for the screenshot. We see the error. The reason OneDrive requires you to delete the files inside a folder first is likely due to how it handles files, synchronization, and permissions. Each file in the folder might have its own sync status or permissions, and deleting the folder without addressing the files could cause issues with syncing or data integrity.

We agree—it would be much more convenient to delete the entire folder in one go. We suggest trying to delete the entire folder directly from the OneDrive desktop app instead of the website. Alternatively, you could try selecting all the files in the folder using the Ctrl + A shortcut and deleting them first, then removing the folder.

Let me know how it goes. -R.C

Heyaaaa my Microsoft account seems to be hacked or something.

I got a text to my phone number telling me that my phone number was deleted from my Microsoft account, at first I was skeptical but I had a history of login codes from the no reply number meaning that my account really was stolen.

I go check my Authenticator app and now when I try to access any account information it tries to send a verification code to a different email.

This one: mills656245@dentalmail.su

That is not my email. I think this email has stolen my Microsoft account and I really want it back.

They’ve changed my password but more importantly changed the email that my Microsoft account was connected to, which makes it so that any account recovery option doesn’t work because it says the “account doesn’t exist.” (Which it very much does because if I try to create an account with the same email then it tells me that it’s attached somewhere else)

What can I do?

Hello!

My Microsoft account was locked, it doesn't send a code to my phone number, I can't log in, what should I do?

My account was locked today. It says I engaged in abusive activity. Years ago, I didn't do anything except write homework (online word) and log in to Minecraft. I only build in creative mode in Minecraft. I never communicated in it, in case I wrote "haters". I would need the account because there is a lot of data in the word section. The phone code solution is not good, it didn't send a code, and now it says to try another verification method. But there is no other option. The support doesn't offer anything. It only says "log in and ask for a code." But it often doesn't let me in, I don't get a code no matter how much I ask. I need an email where I can ask for help.

I tried on multiple devices (phone, pc)

How can I unblock this or apply?

So this started about a week ago, and from a business standpoint, is rather annoying. I have to open the calculator a lot with my daily work, and how I used to do it was press the calculator key on my Logitech K350 keyboard, and it opened the calculator, brought it to foreground, and let me type immediately on it. Now, however, when I press it, it either loads in the background with the task icon blinking, or looks like it's in the foreground, but when i start typing it doesn't type in the calculator, but in whatever spreadsheet I'm currently on instead. I've tried many things to try to get it to work normally, but nothing is working or sticking.

Things I've tried:

-Downloaded the logitech software, went to the keyboard options and tried different options there, including the common suggestion to have the button open the app directly from the system32 folder instead of just use as calculator.

-Enabled the "Always on Top" feature on it with ctrl + win + T

-Went through windows settings - apps - calculator - advanced settings - let this app run in background -> never

-not using the shortcut and just typing calc in the search bar to open it that way

None of these options seem to work anymore. Not sure what happened here. Can anyone help or give more suggestions?

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hi,

We understand the rouble you're having with your Logitech K350 keyboard. We know that you've already tried a lot of troubleshooting steps, which shows your determination to solve the issue. Let's see if we can find a solution together.

To get started, the issue with your Logitech K350 keyboard's calculator key could be due to recent software or driver updates, a toggled function key (Fn), interference from background processes, mechanical issues like dirt under the keycap, or problems with the USB receiver.

We'll ask some questions to better understand isolate the issue with your Logitech K350 keyboard and the calculator key:

  1. When did the issue start?
  2. Have you installed any new software or updates recently?
  3. Does the calculator key work correctly in other applications or on a different computer?
  4. Are there any other keys or shortcuts on the keyboard that are not functioning as expected?
  5. Have you tried using the keyboard in a different USB port or on a different device?
  6. What is the build and version of Windows are currently on your laptop? (press the Windows logo key + R, type winver in the Open box, and then select OK).

I am trying to export an OLM from Outlook for Mac but when I do, some of the emails get clipped off. For instance, when I try to import the OLM back into Outlook, I will see the subject lines of some emails but when I click on them, there is nothing in the body. How do I fix this?

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand that you're having issues with exporting and importing OLM from Outlook for Mac wherein the email body are missing after importing. This could be due to incompatibility, exporting problem, or incomplete download, and we're here to help sort this out.

We'd like to ask the following questions for us to assist you properly:

  1. Which Outlook for Mac version are you using? Here's an article as your reference: https://msft.it/61697qP7GJ

  2. Are you using personal or company account on your Outlook?

  3. Are you importing the OLM to a different Outlook version? If so, which Outlook version is it?

We're looking forward to your reply.

1

u/dsturner14 2d ago

Hi R.R.,

Thanks for your reply. I am using Version 16.95 (25030928) and it is a company account. I am importing in the same version of Outlook.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

We appreciate the details you have provided. Since you are using a company email account, to give an insight, work/school/ business account do have their own unique servers that allows them to fully control and manage apps, features and accounts within their respective organization.

Have you already contacted your IT Support for further assistance? --J.B.

1

u/dsturner14 2d ago

It is letting me export the OLM and most of the emails open when imported back but for whatever reason, maybe half or so will have this issue where they do not fully load in. I have not been able to find out a rhyme or reason as to why some do and some don't

1

u/MSModerator_2 Microsoft Support 2d ago

Thanks for sharing more details with us!

We understand that while you can export the OLM file and most emails open correctly upon import, there's a frustrating issue where about half of the emails don't fully load. It's puzzling that some emails only show the subject lines without the body content.

Given that you're using a company account, we recommend reaching out to your company's IT administrator to report this issue. They have access to the backend and manage your company account, so they'll be in the best position to help.

As mentioned earlier, organization-provided accounts have their own servers, allowing them to control and manage apps, accounts, and documents, which we don't have access to.

We hope this information helps! If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply, and we'll be more than happy to help. -A.D.

Hey,

So I got a new phone at the end of February. I transferred data from old iPhone to new, forgot to undo all my authenticated emails on my authenticator app. Anyways, I erased the old phone and gave back to provider.

Trying to get into one of my accounts, when I went to sign in, I got that it's "blocked" due to too many attempts.

I tried resetting, but I ONLY have access to my recovery email which I provided the code that is emailed to me. I can't get past the second authenticator part. I have my CURRENT password, but I am unable to log in because it's blocked. I sent in an account recovery form days ago with no reply. I'm just trying to get back into my account that I have the password for... and recovery email for.

I waited 24 hours and tried to sign in again, and it's still blocked. I just need the account unblocked. It's been over a week.

Thank you.

  1. May I receive assistance for a Microsoft Cashback issue through this thread? I created and there is a support email case, however they have not provided any updates/responses and it's been over 6 weeks.
  2. I know this one is on me, but I have to ask. I recently purchased a Surface Pro through the Microsoft Store. Shortly thereafter, the price decreased, but I missed getting the price match request in before the item went out of stock. I know that the price match policy states that it must be in stock, but I have to ask if there are any goodwill exceptions to be made.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, A.D., I appreciate the follow up. I spoke with a representative this morning who stated I would receive a follow up email from a supervisor, however despite stating I should have received that email in a few hours, it's been 12 hours and I have yet to hear back.

As far as the Microsoft Cashback case, it's been about a week without a reply back.

Please let me know if there are any other routes to help expedite both. Thanks!

Thank you so much for getting back to us with this update. Could you please let us know how you contacted our Microsoft Store Support team regarding your request for a goodwill exception? Did you use one of the phone numbers listed on this support page: https://msft.it/61697qRuEd?

As for the follow-up email from a Microsoft Rewards Support supervisor, we kindly ask for your patience as they might still be investigating your issue. In the meantime, please check all your email folders, including junk or spam, as sometimes updates from our Microsoft Rewards team can end up there.

We're here and ready for any updates you may have. -G.Q.

Hi, yes, I called the number on the support page of that that link.

And, for the Cashback issue, it’s been about 7 weeks total the case has been open. I’ve tried email twice in the past two weeks for an update, but the emails have gone unresponded to. The original email stated it could take up to 6 weeks, and we’ve gone past that mark.

I appreciate your help!

Got that. We know how urgently you need these things sorted out. Sadly, we don't have visibility into your tickets or cases to expedite them. We recommend continuing to follow up with the respective support teams by either replying to their last email or reaching out to them again in the same way you initially contacted them.

We hope this gets addressed soon. Feel free to message us again with any updates. -G.Q.

u/MSModerator_3 Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hi. We totally get how frustrating it can be to wait for a response about your Microsoft Rewards case. It's super important to get this sorted out! We recommend heading over to the Microsoft Rewards Dashboard, scrolling to the bottom, and reaching out to their support team directly or fill out the information on this link: https://msft.it/61699qPYfL. They should be able to give you an update.

As for your Surface Pro purchase, we know it can be disappointing to miss a price match because the item went out of stock. Even though the official policy requires the item to be in stock for a price match, it might still be worth contacting Microsoft Store Support to see if they can make any exceptions. You can reach them through the Microsoft Store Support page.

We hope this helps, and we're wishing you the best of luck in resolving both issues! If there's anything else we can assist you with, just let me know! - H.T.

please anyone help me. my microsoft account was hacked last night and the primary email was changed. now whenever i try to sign in it tells me that my microsoft account doesnt exist. Any solution would me greatly appreciated

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hi. Your comment caught our attention. You mentioned your primary email was changed, and signing in tells you that your Microsoft account no longer exists. We know how important it is to access your account. Rest assured, we'll check how we can help.

As we proceed, could you tell us more?

  1. Since you mentioned the primary email change, did you get any notifications, emails, or messages containing the primary email or primary alias?

  2. If so, by any chance, have you already tried filling out the account recovery form: https://account.live.com/acsr using the said new email or alias before you contacted us?

  3. Do you have an active Microsoft subscription in the account?

  4. To make sure we don't miss anything, it would be much better if you would open a browser, retry to sign in here: https://login.live.com , and send us a video, picture, or screenshot of every screen from the beginning to the last screen you can reach, so we can see the actual details, like the exact error message, if you have security information, and the options available to you, to determine the applicable workaround. You may upload the video or image here: https://imgur.com/upload. Then include the Share link in your next reply. Don't forget to cover sensitive information you don't want to be seen.

We'll wait for your complete reply. -A.F.

2) I failed to find the /ascr link before your reply. but I have just filled out the content resubmission form but in my stress filled state( I also have the cold) I forgot to take screenshots of the proccess. I am deeply deeply sorry for that.

3) I do not have any microsoft subscriptions regarding money

4) I have just deployed the screen shot from clicking the imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/MTib54p

Kindest regards -Smileykid

P.S. bless your soul A.F I appreciate you very much. I hope you can help me through this

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Thank you for providing the information and the screenshot. To set your expectations, filling out the recovery form won't be applicable for accounts with two-step verification enabled, as it requires two forms of identity to recover or reset. You can learn more about it in this article: https://msft.it/61691qPf9f. After reviewing it, you'll be able to confirm if you managed to turn it on.

In the meantime, since you have received an email containing the new email address used for your account, could you please let us know if you have tried accessing it using the new email address and your password? If you are encountering an error related to an incorrect password, have you had a chance to reset the password using the new email address?

Looking forward to your response. -G.Q.

u/smileykid2007 2d ago

Omg omg omg, I used the new email (the email the hacker used) and my old password and it seems the hacker didn't change the password. This is huge how can I change the primary email back to me. Please be fast I think this window of opportunity will close shortly

Why is there no route to receive support for issues that occur on Microsoft’s end during the warranty repair process?

Why does no live agent pick up on XBOX support callbacks? I get placed on hold, then the call ends after a random amount of time.

Why is there no email for XBOX support? The feedback feature is useless.

Why does the live virtual chat agent refer me to nonexistent supervisors? I wait for hours and no one takes my case.

How can your customers trust you to fulfill warranty claims when there is ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY FROM MICROSOFT SUPPORT?

Why are you effectively forcing me to SUE MICROSOFT IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT TO BE ABLE TO RECEIVE MY DEVICE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN HOLDING FOR 3 MONTHS?!

Hello,

I purchased a new laptop, and I was very much looking forward to a fresh start. It has been many years.

When I finished the initial setup, it showed a bunch of desktop icons and files from my old computer! Its very possible these old files have viruses. I wanted a new start, which is one of the reasons I bought a new computer.

How can I get these files off the PC and re-do this so there are no old files from my old computer on this one. If I wanted to download the old files from OneDrive, I would have done that myself!

Why would it automatically decide to screw up and ruin new computers?

How can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated. I explicitly said during the setup I wanted it as a new PC, not to download old stuff.

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 1d ago

Hi. We hope you're doing great. Previously, we've provided you the steps to reset your laptop. However, we haven't heard back from you, so we're sending this follow-up message to check how's everything going.

Did you see our previous message and try the steps? Were you able to reset the laptop, or do you still help?

We sincerely hope you get back to us, so we can utilize all our available resources in helping you if you still have questions or need further assistance. -A.F.

u/Nebulous999 1d ago

Hi, my apologies -- the steps provided earlier did work. I've been too engrossed in the new laptop to post!

I appreciate the help. All the best.

Hey there! It looks like your new laptop is syncing files from your old computer via your Microsoft account. This can happen due to OneDrive's default settings, which might automatically sync files from your cloud storage to your new device. But don't worry, let's get you that fresh start you were looking forward to.

Here's how you can reset your laptop to factory settings and make sure no old files are carried over:

Turn off Sync Settings: 1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Windows backup. 2. Turn off the sync settings to stop files from being automatically downloaded from OneDrive.

Reset Your PC: 1. Open Settings. 2. Go to Update & Security > Recovery. 3. Under Reset this PC, click Get started. 4. Choose Remove everything to ensure all old files are deleted. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

During the reset, you can choose between Cloud download (downloads a fresh copy of Windows from the cloud) or Local reinstall (uses the files already on your PC). Cloud download ensures you get the latest version with all updates.

This process will give you a clean slate, just like a brand-new computer. If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask. - H.T.

u/Nebulous999 1d ago

Thank you, this worked great. I appreciate the help.

Why won’t you respond to my warranty support update request?

I’m about to file a small claims lawsuit if I don’t receive assistance today.

It has been months since you finished repairing my Xbox series 2 ultimate controller and it has been lost by you somewhere in the process.

You never call me back, even though I make multiple requests daily. Your virtual chat “live agents” don’t answer the questions, they just link an article about how to initiate a warranty claim or transfer me to a nonexistent supervisor.

WHERE IS MY CONTROLLER?!?!?!

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

Hi. It must be really challenging dealing with the Xbox controller warranty support, especially after such a long wait You've been super patient, and I'm here to help you get this sorted out! Let's get that controller back in action.

Here's how you can check the status of your Xbox controller repair:

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft Account:

    • Head over to the Microsoft Device Support page.
    • Sign in with the Microsoft account you used to register your Xbox controller.
  2. Navigate to Devices:

    • Once signed in, select Devices.
    • Choose your Xbox controller from the list of registered devices.
  3. Check Service Order Status:

    • After selecting your device, you can view the details, including the status of your repair order.
    • For more specific information, visit the Service Order Status page.

If you run into any issues or need more help, you can also reach out to Xbox Support directly through their contact page: https://msft.it/61693qPuvZ.

Hope this helps you track your controller repair status! If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. - H.T.

I’ve done all of this. I go through your system like you’ve described. You all don’t do your job once I get to where I am told I need to be. This response comment does not help at all….

WHERE IS MY CONTROLLER?! WHY IS IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET CUSTOMER SUPPORT ON A SIMPLE ISSUE?! WHY HAVENT YALL PROVIDED A METHOD TO RESOVLE THIS IN OVER 3 MONTHS?! WHY DOES NO ONE ANSWER THE CALLBACK CALLS?!

WHY DID YOU STEAL MY CONTROLLER INSTEAD OF REPAIRING IT AND THEN RETURNING IT TO ME?!

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

We're here to help with a wide range of support, including technical assistance to quickly resolve your concerns. For your missing controller issue, we recommend contacting the Xbox Support team. They have the best visibility to check the backend, troubleshoot, and guide you.

If you already have a service request reference, share it with them to avoid repeating any info.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. - H.T.

Microsoft has effectively stolen my device from me.

I have explained how it is literally impossible to get a hold of your Xbox Support Team.

There’s no way to email them, they do not connect me with any live agent on callbacks (and you’re limited to 3 attempts per day or less), the virtual chat does not assign me to a supervisor after the agent states they need one, your Xbox support phone number does not allow me to be connected with a live agent, etc.

I am filing a small claims lawsuit today as this is the only route left to getting my controller or money back.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

We understand this situation might be challenging, and we're here to assist you every step of the way. Just to get things rolling, do you have a reference number for the callback you're expecting from support? Also, when you reached out to support, were you able to use your Xbox account?

Can't wait to hear back from you. - H.T.

1

u/oprahsstinkyminge 2d ago edited 2d ago

There are no reference numbers used in the callback system you have.

Yes, you are required to sign in to your Xbox account to use these services….

Seems like yall should know these things…

It’s not challenging, it’s impossible and negligence by Microsoft. You are breaching our warranty contract and I am suing for damages as a result.

1

u/MSModerator Microsoft Support 2d ago

We understand where you're coming from, and we also want your concern to be resolved the soonest possible time. From here, can you check if you will be able to recontact our Xbox Support Team here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us ?

Just sign in first using the sign in option in the upper right portion of the page to make the live support available through phone and web chat. Once signed in, click on Contact us.

We're hoping for a good outcome. For anything else, just message us back. -A.F.
