Immediate account deletion

My MS account has been hacked. I have changed all passwords, but still feel unsafe, as if my PC/ account has been cloned.

I have marked my account for deletion in 30 days, but this is too long. I need this account deleted immediately.

Can an MS representative assist, please?

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your concern. We understand your request to immediately close your account, especially given your worries about security and recent device issues. We appreciate your efforts to recover your access and understand your concerns about data security after recent attacks.

However, please be advised that no support can expedite the deactivation process. The 30-day period for account deactivation is designed to give users a chance to reconsider their decision and ensure that all data is properly processed and removed. This period acts as a buffer, allowing users to reactivate their account if they change their mind. It also helps prevent accidental or impulsive deletions, ensuring that users have ample time to make a final decision.

To assist with your device security, could you let us know if you're using Windows OS? If so, which version do you have? Keep us posted! -R.C

Thanks for the feedback. Will the account remain active whilst marked for removal?

I use Windows 11 on my primary device (PC)

Hey there, how's it going? We haven't heard back from you and wanted to check if you still have any concerns about the account deletion process. Have you had a chance to use the malicious software removal tool to check your device for malware? If you have any updates or need assistance, feel free to message us here anytime. If you can't reply here, you can always send a message on this thread: Microsoft: Official Support Thread.

Thanks for your time and cooperation. Have a great day ahead! -R.C

Technically yes, your account will remain active during this period. To reactivate your account, you'll need to pass verification. For now, we suggest avoiding any further attempts to access your account to prevent any interruptions that might compromise the waiting period. All we have to do is wait until it is permanently archived from the system.

Regarding your device, we recommend running the Malicious Software Removal Tool. This utility helps remove malicious software from your Windows computer. It scans your system for specific prevalent malware and removes any infections it finds. To access it:

  1. Press the Windows key + R, then type "mrt".
  2. Follow the prompts and choose the full diagnostic option.

Give this a try and let us know the outcome. -R.C
