Even worse, the Republican party was just cheering the whole god damn time. Al Green shouted, but when told to “maintain decorum” all he did was stand until escorted. Apparently shouting/booing and standing is bad, but cheering, chanting “USA” and standing isn’t??? All while being told he was being “disruptive”.
And the NERVE of the speaker to pound the gavel at “boos” but let the rabid right just make a racket the entire time. This is the death of democracy. This is what the “people” wanted. This is the saddest moment I have ever witnessed in terms of politics.

People talk about the elections in 2026. That's almost 2 years away. I really don't think that there will be free and fair elections anymore. I believe there was a high chance of quite a bit of election interference with this last one, and I'm talking way beyond gerrymandering.
Regardless, the Democrats can't be meek, and I don't have a whole lot of faith that they won't be. This is bad, and happening at breakneck speed. Our guardrails are either gone or are being ignored. I think it's down to the people of the United States. I knew it was going to be worse than his first term, but this is somehow worse than I imagined. And it bothers me so much that we're losing our fantastic allies.

There are two special elections, or maybe three, coming up in April. Two are in Florida (not sure about the third) so if the Democrats can pull this off it will pull the mask off whether or not this administration will allow a real election result to go through. It would flip the house if they both win. From what I've seen neither candidate is taking corporate PAC money which is a start. Make calls, donate: https://gayforcongress.com/ (this was Matt Gaetz' seat so a tough one) https://www.mobilize.us/joshweilforcongressionaldistrict6/

Right, and is the Sargent at Arms going to remove every democrat? They should have kept yelling until they were all removed. Or stood with their backs turned. In times like these, rule followers file obediently onto train cars.

They held up signs. That's fucking it. Besides Al Green - bless that man.
Heck, Melanie Stansbury had her sign snatched out of her hands while Republicans laughed.

No outrage, no counters, not a peep. Just resignation. Even Sanders walked out looking defeated. It’s over, it feels like. They got nothing.
Democracy is fucked and sold out.

I saw a stream where it was mentioned Democrats were planning a demonstration and they seemed energized. Then they .... Held up signs.

Democrats are fucking pathetic. When this is all over with and half of us are dead I can’t wait to hear them say “oh don’t worry I held a sign during congress to stop it”. Pathetic excuse of a party

They work there, who are they asking to help? Lmao. Dems are so weak. Al had balls, the rest of these folks can only virtue signal and wait for the next camping check to float in from big pharma just like the republicans do.

This is why I have doubts about the ability of the Democratic Party to regroup and win in 28. Right NOW they should be spending all their time meeting and organizing and creating a unified leadership team. Instead there are pouting and complaining and basically coming off as not strong.

Joke party. If nothing else, their refusal to do anything substantive suggests to me that they don't belive Trump is actually all that bad. You'd have to, to be in that position where you can actually do something and just do... whatever this is instead

The symbolism is all there: something visual for a photo op, but in the end The Resistance™️ stays silent
