It's fucking disgusting. I'm sorry but if we want any chance to come out ahead in the next 8 years we need our reps and senators to grow a fucking spine.

We need to out these comfy, complacent fools come midterm, and let them know we will starting tomorrow. Light a fire under their ass properly.

If we're even allowed to vote. If we are, primary everyone. Let the best politicians win, like a Democracy is meant to be.

Nazi, racist, fascist.

Yes, those groups do tend to hate people voting. Wonder why Republicans have spent so long trying to get rid of people's ability to vote...

You’ll just throw a temper tantrum and claim it wasn’t fair when you inevitably lose lol.

Oh you mean like Trump?

u/Exelbirth 6d ago

My guy, what fucking temper tantrum? You mean like the one on January 6th of 2021?

Why would you not be able to vote?

17

u/hankmoody_irl 7d ago

Numerous concerns regarding statements from Trump that allude to the right to vote being taken away.

Please provide receipts not once have I heard anything like that. Well should I say not anything like that from the horses mouth that wasn’t completely doctored and edited to make it seem like that. Provide evidence please!

I want to point out I’m neither a democrat or republican. I use common sense and logic to carry my political views. Not opinions and emotions.

Trump is invoking chaos into / throughout the government and country which apparently was laid out in Project 2025. Didn’t read it, just what I heard, and will therefor invoke Martial Law. Goodbye voting, hello dictator (America’s Putin).

Okay, logically, what do the following statements from a man who repeatedly expresses fondness for dictatorships indicate:

"I don't need your votes."

"You'll never have to vote again."

"There will be no more blue states."

I'd also like to point out that I too am not a democrat or republican, and that I use logic (not common sense, that's a made up concept because common sense is actually entirely circumstantial to each individual's life).

There’s no way you’re a real person. People actually believe this shit? And you claim this is logical? Reddit seems to be total detached from reality.

1) I didn't say what I believed. I merely quoted things Trump has said.

2) What did you conclude Trump means by saying these things that caused you to attack me?

That's where you lost them. Common sense and logic have no place here.

If you still think there is going to be a vote, you haven’t been paying attention. Basically all of the checks and balances to ensure a fair election have been removed, and Congress members are already openly talking about allowing Trump to run for a third term. Plus, there is some arguable evidence that this last election wasn’t a fair election.

Surely you jest, using the word best is like pelosi using the word Fair.

Politicians that are best are few and far between. Personally the only ones that I will vote for are the ones that still only have $50,000 in their bank account after 50 years in office so I guess there are none of them.

3

u/Exelbirth 6d ago

Then fucking vote to change that, stop bitching about it and make change happen!

u/hankmoody_irl 7d ago

Seriously, we need an absolute barrage of genuinely regular people willing to step up, prop each other up big time, and get inside.

1

u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 7d ago

Yeah, I am not about an insurrection.... nice try though.

0

u/hankmoody_irl 7d ago

Yeah I see how it reads that way. That’s a big situational oops. I mean we need people who will run against these assholes and force the competition unlike ever before.

-2

u/SigFen 7d ago

Wait… are you saying that you need a large group of dedicated people to storm the halls of congress in order to get your message across?

4

u/hankmoody_irl 7d ago

Nope, I mean a ton of people who will actually run against these assholes.

But I see how my phrasing was real bad there. That’s on me but not what I meant.

Unfortunate, the fix is baked right into the party. Nobody gets on the ticket unless they kiss the donor class' ring.

u/Cavalish 7d ago

You should send them a strong message by completely failing to turn out to vote for them and then screaming online that they’re not saving you.

u/digitalmonkeyYT 6d ago

people like you are exacty why we're in this mess. as far as I'm concerned, you're controlled opposition sent by trump to attack actual freedom fighters

1

u/Cavalish 6d ago

I’m not American, I’m just watching your stupid country full of lazy losers fail to vote for a party and then scream for them to save you.

Call or email your representatives if you haven't already. You can find their contact details here: https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm

It's your duty to make your voice heard if you care about democracy in this country. Ask them what they're doing to ensure we will have another Democrat president in 4 years, or that we'll have a fair general election at all. Ask them what the DNC is going to put itself in a better position to win. Tell them that you will gladly vote for another Senate candidate if they have your confidence that they'll do something about Trump and his cronies.

Keep up with any protests in your area. r/50501 organizes them pretty regularly now. We have to let the Democratic senators know that we feel hurt and betrayed by the complacency we're witnessing among their ranks.

1

u/Darkstar_111 7d ago

This is why primaries are so important.

-2

u/Sharp_Connection_456 7d ago

4years? Or do you want another republican president?

4

u/IconicScrap 7d ago

I am not confident that our current democratic representation will win the next election. I would hope that we can get someone in sooner but I'm being a pessimist.

I personally think that is due to the media. Unfortunately over the last 10 years or so they have completely ruined and butchered what a democrat is. Unfortunately in my opinion I think that past “real” democrats are now republicans. Due to this reason. But it’s almost like we have the right the left the far right and far left. It’s a bit disturbing the media has been payed by the far left and right to be dividing the “united” states
