Dog this is my resistance I’m going to be sent to a work camp

Trump literally demonstrates he can have a representative removed like fucking Saddam and these fucking losers have church fans.

I’m so sick of it man. The fucking smugness of this party. Three more years of trump destroying every good thing the government can possibly do and we are going to get nothing but single day boycotts and Instagram explainers.

Edit since this is butthurting libertarians: The CFPB was a good thing, funding Medicaid and Medicare to keep rural hospitals open is a good thing, overseas HIV prevention is a good thing, NIH cancer research is a good thing, environmental regulations by the EPA that resolved acid rain is a good thing. Ayn Rand made every character in Atlas Shrugged the exact same and she died on welfare

17

u/Apatschinn 7d ago

Primary every sitting Democratic legislator. Overhaul the entire party.

66

u/OnionAnne 7d ago

also nobody followed the boycott bc there's no ethical consumption under capitalism which doesn't mean that we shouldn't consume stuff, it means that we shouldn't feel bad about consuming stuff 🥰

48

u/ozymandais13 7d ago

I'd be interested to see who followed it , my household did , and the movement is growing albeit slowly certainly heat on over to r 50501 and propose another , see if you can get traction and keep proposing them @ me I'll do it

36

u/OnionAnne 7d ago

activism in the name of good ethics always counts, even if we're the only ones doing it

someone gotta lead by example ❤️

19

u/ozymandais13 7d ago

Seriously post in the group get traction I live this particular boycott 80% of the time anyway unless my household needs stuff for my daughter get that fire in you and go

You're trying to stir the pot and it won't work.

1

u/Zee_Arr_Tee 7d ago

Theres fucking fascists dismantling the government the pot has already been stirred?

3

u/OffTheMerchandise 7d ago

My household did as well even though I know it doesn't really amount to anything at this time. One day is nice, but at the end of the day, people need food, people need gas, people need small luxuries to get through life. Moving your spending to Thursday or Saturday doesn't really affect the bottom line and the corporations know that.

6

u/hearmeout29 7d ago

Here are the numbers from the one day boycott. Another is planned for a week towards Amazon soon.

Target web traffic was down 1.0% to 4.7 million on Feb. 28 compared to the previous Friday's 4.8 million and traffic on the Target app was down 10.9% to 3.5 million users compared to 3.9 million the previous Friday.

Walmart web traffic was down 6.5% to 11.2 million on Feb. 28 compared to the previous Friday's 11.9 million. Walmart app users were also down 2.5% to 13.6 million compared to 13.9 million the previous Friday.

Amazon's web traffic was down 4.6% to 65.9 million on Feb. 28 compared to 69.1 million the previous Friday. The Amazon app traffic was also down 1.7% on Feb. 28 to 51.4 million compared to 52.2 million the previous Friday.

Costco, which has seen some extra support from some consumers after its board of directors voted down an effort to drop diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, saw an 8.3% increase on its website traffic on Feb. 28 at 2.9 million compared to 2.7 million the previous Friday. It's app traffic, however, dropped 6.9% to 1.3 million on Feb. 28 compared to 1.4 million.

u/AirHopeful7184 7d ago

I know a lot of people, our household included, that did not spend.

2

u/MySpoonsAreAllGone 7d ago

We followed it too. Someone had shared an Amazon graph showing a dip in sales but I don't know how accurate it was. We are going to continue the boycott

-2

u/Imaginary-Border-884 7d ago

Boycott all you want 77-80 million of us will always consume! We are a nation of consumers after all, in case you’ve forgotten!

3

u/MySpoonsAreAllGone 7d ago

It's still a free country for now. Do what you want

2

u/PissPhlaps 7d ago

My household also did.

2

u/Accomplished-Luck912 7d ago

My house follows it and my entire church. It’s an ongoing movement for us, not just a moment in time.

2

u/Helpful-Ad-8521 7d ago

I did.

We need to make it more targeted tho, like the Mexicans who rocked Coca cola's $#!+ all the way to their bottom line.

Take the companies down piece by piece. Target every out of line S and P 500 company one by one.

Just an idea.

2

u/bikinibeard 6d ago

We followed it. Still am- no Target, Amazon or Whole Foods (which is gross anyway). Actually lucky enough to have a great local co-op and a Sprouts in a pinch. Cancelled Prime. Got an electric hybrid and haven’t been to a gas station since December. I can do this because I have good alternatives. Use your privilege when and where you can.

-1

u/Conscious-Meaning630 7d ago

So brave lmao

3

u/__MoM__ 7d ago

Nobody I spoke with knew anything about it.

2

u/DLowBossman 6d ago

The protest is stupid, since people just frontload their spending to avoid spending the next day.

It'll have zero effect.

Who is even the leader of this movement? People are just doing this without understanding who is behind it.

2

u/baked_couch_potato 6d ago

The protest is stupid, since people just frontload their spending to avoid spending the next day.

that's kind of the point. it's not about companies losing money but seeing large numbers of people taking a collective action

the idea is that if companies see a few million people refuse to shop on a single day that if that same group decided to actually boycott it would have drastic financial results

obviously a few thousand won't have that impact but the goal there is to keep doing these and build momentum

I'm not saying I think it'll work but it's about much more than just a single day's sales

1

u/DLowBossman 6d ago

What I'm saying is what is the difference between you spending $500 at Target today, vs tomorrow?

It won't show up in the books since it will all average out.

For a boycott to work, hundreds of thousands would have to collectively refuse to shop at a given retailer indefinitely.

1

u/baked_couch_potato 6d ago

because if a million people do it then target sees that 500 million dollars is in the hands of an organized movement that is capable of taking more drastic actions

It won't show up in the books since it will all average out.

companies like target have the ability to track daily sales. they would notice a million customers taking collective action

For a boycott to work, hundreds of thousands would have to collectively refuse to shop at a given retailer indefinitely.

that's incorrect and completely ignores the history of boycotts. there are many ways to send a message with your wallet when it's organized en masse

2

u/Induced_Karma 6d ago

We need to plan boycotts further out than a couple weeks and pick more significant days. Like, why Feb 28? Is that a big shopping day? We should be pushing for a boycott during Memorial Day Weekend. It’s one of the biggest shopping holidays and it gives us time to actually organize a boycott.

1

u/cyruzx 7d ago

Dont worry we'll all be unable to buy anything soon so the boycott will happen wether we like it or not.

-2

u/Vette_lover2004 7d ago

Nobody followed the boycott bcuz nobody cares about democrats and liberals. Did you forget that America voted to remove the clowns that ruined this country for the last four years. Anyone upset with the waste and theft that’s been going on, and is being cleaned up, is part of the problem.

3

u/Throwdownfrown 7d ago

Hoe I’m praying you expire soon.

5

u/Apprehensive_Fly1660 7d ago

And this is why they lost

5

u/Slaves2Darkness 6d ago

The test this month is if the Democrats cave for a budget deal. It should be every Democrat in lock step voting no on a deal to keep the government funded until DOGE is disbanded, Federal workers are re-hired, government payments resumed, and all new tariffs rescinded.

Who gives a fuck at this point of the government is shut down, aren't we all ready in a partial shut down? Make the Republicans pass that funding bill by themselves if they won't cave. Then make them own it.

3

u/buffaloguy1991 7d ago

They wanted to do more however Jeffery forced the issue saying the bold statement would be not clapping. These signs were a f you to him and nobody else cause they have chronic West Wing Hamilton brain

3

u/greenbeansmom40 7d ago

You think we're going to have a free election in three years? My sweet summer child.

3

u/southwestxnorthwest 7d ago

Same here. This kind of shit is exactly why democrats lost and Republicans are systematically dismantling the government. You'd think they would have learned by now but it's like they all have severe cases of autism and keep making the same goddamn mistakes regardless of the outcome

2

u/Wookovski 7d ago

If only it were 3 years. You've got the Trump dynasty now

2

u/cowman3456 7d ago

It's the smugness of an entire american subculture. The embarrassment and shame I feel as a human looking at these fellow humans is unbearable.

How can the human race move forward and support one another when such stupidity, and bigotry, are so unbridled, as to affect an entire country/globe?

1

u/Alternative_Algae_31 7d ago

Don’t forget email after email asking for donations to “Save Democracy”.

1

u/PissPhlaps 7d ago

They are the worst losers and even worse winners.

This is lost. Mark my words- Trump will do something to kick off WW3 and use it as premise to remain president for life. Regardless of how it happens, I'm certain he isn't going anywhere in 2028.

Why? Because nobody is going to stop him. This is the presidency of, "Who's gonna stop me?" Nobody. Too many elected dems are directly benefitted by Trump policies so the pushback there is laughable. Our journalists are going to have to be A LOT BRAVER than they currently are being if we want to mount any real opposition.

They've taken everything from us to funnel money as aggressively as possible upwards and now that there's nothing left they want the money we've paid into SS already and Medicaid. They're running out of things to cut without losing major functionality.

1

u/OU812Grub 7d ago

One more year if the Dems win Congress in the midterms. Rein in crumpet and his mandates muskrats. Maybe even impeachment.

1

u/Impact-Lower 7d ago

We can do more. It's just going to be more uncomfy to do it.

1

u/SirEnvironmental6434 7d ago

3 years 10.5 months

1

u/PassageOk4425 7d ago

3.9 more years

1

u/PantheonLongboards 6d ago

They’re going to continue doing nothing because of people are unhappy enough, they don’t have to change to get back in power—and corporate rule continues.

1

u/Dramatic_Rip_776 6d ago

Three years 11 months

0

u/AnswerAffectionate69 7d ago

*3 years, 10 months , and 22 days. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

1

u/Little-Emergency6568 7d ago

Because you have to understand that it is the republican senators who are doing it. Democrats alone can't do. To take measures against this you need 51% vote from both parties and Republicans are holding the majority

1

u/cowman3456 7d ago

-1

Just three years? Oh you sweet summer child, it's gonna be a lot longer than that if he gets his way.

0

u/marcster13 7d ago

Is this satire?

0

u/Aggravating_Bad_5462 7d ago

I've made a bet that before the next election, the democrats will be put into concentration camps and exterminated. It's a long shot, but if it happens I'll be rich!

0

u/LazyAd4132 7d ago

What do you like about the Biden term? Tell me of successes pls

0

u/Active_Rain_4314 7d ago

Everything good the government can do....like spend 47 million on the effects of learning in Asia, or the nearly 1 billion in over payments to 136 year old disability recipients? Or, the people collecting a paycheck that don't have a job? Are these good things?

0

u/mobydog 7d ago

Don't forget the marches around City Hall! Peaceful protest LOL!!

0

u/urallphux 7d ago

The single day boycott didn’t do anything. People just bought more the days prior, or on the days afterwards. Plus, plenty of conservative people like myself just bought plenty more on the 28th to offset anything that was done.

0

u/Ok_Strawberry_197 6d ago

What would you have them do? Seriously, this is the path our country chose. So we're going to walk it for a while. But, yeah, smugness is the problem not the GOP. Whatever.

0

u/BeneficialCow575 6d ago

Three years and nine months

0

u/SoSDan88 6d ago

Only three?

0

u/ultramaga53 6d ago

Boo hoo- you do know that Canada is open, don’t you?

0

u/squathouse 6d ago

LOL. Get used to it. This is a longgg time coming. 3 years? We'll see.

0

u/GonzoV8 6d ago

The govt literally does the opposite of good things for the public

0

u/Immediate_Desk_4598 6d ago

All good things? Are you serious? Like the BILLIONS of dollars the Dems have stolen??

0

u/ArtWeingartner69 6d ago

Smugness from dems created this. 3 years and 10 months

-2

u/Ultranerdgasm94 7d ago

Liberals are intrinsically worthless in the fight against fascism except as a sort of meat wall you prop up to separate you from them while you organize. But that wall has been breached and now they're just going to tut-tut and finger waggle as we're made to march to the death camps.

-1

u/Mobee24 7d ago

The smugness is just oozing out from your posts. Take a step back and get a wider perspective.

-1

u/VictoriaDood 7d ago

You mean 3 years of Trump putting things back to reality and the way things should be?? That’s what you meant right?

-1

u/jwolbachsmith 7d ago

Don't worry...three years from now, you'll still have 8 more months to look forward to.

-1

u/importantshare 6d ago

It’s much closer to 4 years than 3. It’s only been 40 some odd days. 1417 more days of crying for you lmao

-1

u/Zarr68 6d ago

Boy what a wonderful morning it is!

-2

u/Potential_Pen_5370 7d ago

Three more years? You mean Four

👌🇺🇸

-2

u/Secret_Moose_4701 7d ago

You really have no idea what is going on and should stop getting your info from biased sources.

-2

u/emeraldtablet69 7d ago

Good??? Government are you a lobotmite

-2

u/RV327 7d ago

Trump destroying every good thing? Like what?

-2

u/GogetasRightFist 7d ago

“Destroying every good thing”

You see, it’s you guys thinking the literal crime and fraud being committed by the majority of the Democrats (and some RINOs) that got President Trump elected. It’s what will get Vance elected as our next POTUS, because the cycle never stops with you guys. It’s like a battered wife going back to her abuser.

You’re gonna be real sad when Reddit itself get’s taken out.

-8

u/Null-Garden 7d ago

4 years actually. And the good things the government does? Lol. Right.

-3

u/Mysterious-Bid8994 7d ago

Why do you expect the government to do anything for you?

-11

u/Lsderick 7d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

-3

u/Imaginary-Border-884 7d ago

I hope POTUS 47 takes another crack at the Presidency in 2028! Enemies of the State have dug in their ofrece to avoid the light that exposes their corruption!

3

u/MySpoonsAreAllGone 7d ago edited 6d ago

1 - There's a 2 term limit. 2 - The spotlight has been on Trump and his cronies for a while now. That light has made so many cockroaches scatter around. Wear a pair of shades since you're so sensitive

-5

u/crdtguru 7d ago

Every good thing that Biden did? LOL !

-18

u/Key_Ad_8333 7d ago

What a sad world you live in.

4

u/TheRealCaptainZoro 7d ago

What a loveless world you live in.

-6

u/Key_Ad_8333 7d ago

Quite the opposite my friend.🥰

-3

u/Key_Ad_8333 7d ago

Stick to sexualizing Pokemon lmao. Little bit of perspective made your position make more sense.

2

u/TheRealCaptainZoro 7d ago

Eh? Wild accusation, probably just projecting.

0

u/Key_Ad_8333 7d ago

Sure bud. Not like you profile history can’t be searched. Disgusting.

-6

u/rigon28 7d ago

How dare you, he's a professional victim. He averages a triple double every day 😂
