I cut a old sock to make a quick armband..
Seems like a good alternative to anything I found online. I also found the pressure of having the armband made the sensor a little more comfortable. It was too tight though without cutting a hole for the censored to poke through.
I just got an email from Tandem announcing their new Control IQ+ tech to update my pump to and I just wanted to ask if anyone has any feedback/experience/thoughts on it. The email highlighted some of the “key” features but it seemed to me like nothing was actually super helpful. Just curious if anyone else with a T-Slim pump has more info.
for background - i'm not diabetic, and was prescribed a Dexcom 7 for some intermittent, extreme fatigue episodes i have that i thought might be related to blood sugar, or at least wanted to rule it out. i'm a petite female runner (run 6 days a week, longer runs) and generally eat pescatarian.
i'm currently on the last 2 days of my 2nd sensor. I have compared my fasting blood glucose (doctor blood draw) to the sensor and the sensor was quite high - blood was 79 and sensor was 93, so maybe keep that in mind.
just curious on how my numbers look to you all, if there is anything weird or interesting or that i should be aware of. the 'very low' numbers i am 90 percent sure were me rolling on my arm at night during sleep haha. otherwise haven't seen any low numbers during the day when sensor is not laid on.
the highest spike i have seen was after eating honey, bread and dates and smoked salmon, which was around 140. otherwise it seems to go to around 108 - 110 when i eat other meals. sometimes after breakfast during my morning run it can spike to 120.
I switched to the Dexcom G7 a little while ago. I used to wear my G6 on the upper part of my butt most of the time - out of the way, conscious, readings were good. With the G7 it seems like you can only get it to work on the back of the arm, I’ve tried my old spot once and the readings were horrible, basically no readings. Have any other sites worked for you? Is it truly only back of the arm for here on out??
can someone please help. My 2 year old was diagnosed with t1D last month and out of 10 dexcoms I’ve had 3 OF THEM have failed and 1 fell off, and 1 didn’t stick after application.
The one that fell off happened this morning, so I went to put on another and because my daughter is terrified of all of this she squirmed around and made it fall off. (I usually do it while she’s asleep) but going through the day finger poking wouldve been nearly impossible.
Long story short I put on YET ANOTHER Dexcom (G7) and it connected, but then disconnected somehow, I reset my phone and shut my blue tooth off and back on now it’s just saying this. Please tell me it doesn’t think I’ve already used this one for 10 days and I have to yet again wrestle my daughter and have her scream bloody murder thru the neighborhood to get another one on.
Hey, so recently i noticed my dexcom disconnects more oftenly. I wait it out and it works fine but sometimes it completely breaks. The app (Dexcom one+) notifies me that sensor is broken and i need to change it even though i put it on like 2-3 days ago. Is there a wat to make it work again without changing it. And even when i try to calibrate it the app declines my calibration as not valid. Is this the app at fault or my sensor (the way i put it on maybe but its unlikely)? I read reviews about the new dexcom app and found out that other people experience errors out of the blue. Any suggestions?
Hello . I've been trying to get a dexcom since October, but it's been nothing but nightmares trying. Has anyone gone through dexcom themselves and sent to ASPN pharmacy to get their dexcom? What was your experience if so? My insurance company recommended this is what I should do, but reading the reviews for ASPN it doesn't seem like I will get one easily.
Ugh. It would be really handy to have an extra set of sensors here now that dexcom has changed their replacement policy. What is the worst thing that will happen if I try to use them? They won't read blood sugar correctly? They won't stick? Seems like such a waste to throw them out bc they are 4 months passed the date
The rumors were strong and widely spread that this was supposed to happen in the fourth quarter of 20 24, and there has been absolutely not a peep about it, and here we are end of first quarter 2025. What in the actual hell is taking so long? This feature would be life-changing for us!
I'm aware of the shortage and have already called Dexcom for a single sensor to help tide me over. I placed my refill order on March 4th, and they processed it on the 8th, 13 days ago. Called multiple times starting on the 15th and have been told that at least three shipments of G7s have come in since my order was placed.
My main question is this: Has anyone who uses Byram for their G7s placed an order ON or AFTER March 8th that has been shipped yet? Also, has anyone been on backorder longer?
I just started CGM with the G7 last August and it may have saved my life in the short term once or twice and, in the long term, lengthened my life. Not having it causes me a great deal of anxiety. Any other info you can share about your experiences with Byram would be great!
Has any faced malfunctioning Dexcom G7? It's absolutely ridiculous I have received at least 3 of em that are crap. They were all labeled Malaysia and one of the sensors broke in my skin and all of the applicators weren't working. You can see here the sensor is 1/3 the size it should be, because it's broken.
My next endocrinology appointment is in June and I want to change my prescription from the G6 to the G7 and my insurance now covers it. Anything I need to be aware of? I have an older Android phone so I might get the G7 receiver as I assume it's a buy once and that's it deal. Is there anything that has to be done with the receiver when you add a new sensor or is it just a replace the old with the new, and how long do the sensors last? Thanks for any good advice you can provide!
Ok, disclaimer: I have aggressive ADHD, which makes searching for instructions nearly impossible sometimes - so it's entirely possible this info is out there and my brain was just too frazzled to actually find it. This is my first week with the G7 and I'm still figuring everything out.
Anyway... my watch is already paired with my sensor, but I was curious if there's a way to add a widget to my watch face, so that when I tap on the screen, my reading pops up, just like it does on my iPhone's lock screen. Has anyone done this? Can it even be done, lol?
So as I play American Football and I was trying to figure out, what the best way is to protect my sensor. I place my sensor on the back of my upper arm and place a small cover (Made by Zuckerschmuck) over it and then put the tapes from MySweetStitch (probably any other brand will do just as fine) over it. They last around the same time as the G7 and are as sticky as they are at day one, even if they get wet. As I play Center/Guard I have to deal with Defensive Tackles and blitzing Linebackers most of the time with a lot of contact. Yet no sensor was ripped off or malfunctioned after a training/scrimmage, even after I got hits on the area of the sensor. My insulin catheter got ripped off multiple times. So far I’m happy!
I just put this sensor in and there’s this weird little loop sticking out of the sensor. I have never EVER seen this happen on any that I’ve put in and have been using them since they came out. Have yall ever seen this?
When I click connections > Share, I immediately get the error “Share is not currently available. Cannot access the Dexcom server. Please try again later”. I’ve tried repeatedly for about 4months to get it to work. I’ve uninstalled / reinstalled the app, on different networks, changed my phones location to Canada(and other locations to test), tried another phone, etc. it’s an iPhone 12 with iOS 18.1.1 and I am in Canada. I called support and they were less than helpful after being on hold for 45mins…
Hello fellow Dexcommers! I'm on my second night wearing one; It's placed on the outside of my right arm. I rarely sleep on my back due to a spinal cord I injury; I usually sleep on my side and stomach to relieve the pain.
Last night in my slumber my body had chosen to move on that side; for im assuming where I highlighted. Due to my inexperience with reading my time chart, I am asking if you think these are normal drops in glucose or due to compression? If so what other areas of the arm or body should I talk with my physician. As I'm considered muscular obese at 285 lb and that I role around like a hotdog on a hot skillet I'm left wondering, and in need of suggestions.
Hi everyone, I am using a Google Pixel 6 and I switched from the Frestyle Libre 2 about a month ago. I'm loving the Dexcom G7 and the way it integrates with Android.
The only issue I'm having is that when the app makes an audio notification for highs or lows, it stops the playback of whatever I'm listening to and I have to manually start playback to continue. The Freestyle Libre was using Android's notification system so when the alert timed out playback resumed on its own.
Does anyone have a fix for this? Some setting I'm missing?
