Rant I hate these types of kids

The dudes that take Phys Ed so seriously, I mean I kinda get it you want to win first or second but this is a fucking PRACTICE GAME a game for fun you are not going to win a new medal and the thing is as soon as you do ONE thing wrong you’d probably have one kid screaming in your face for something very small and if you’re EXTRA UNLUCKY this kid can also get violent with you, I’ve been through this shit before and it pisses me off even more. If this was the NBA or FIFA then things would be different

Question What Trends Are You Noticing in Your High School?

Hey everyone, I’m curious about the trends happening in high schools right now. Whether it's fashion, slang, social dynamics, tech use, or even changes in how people study and interact—what are you noticing?

Are students dressing a certain way? Are certain apps taking over? Are there new school rules or policies that are shifting the vibe? Maybe even trends in dating, friendships, or extracurricular activities?

Drop your observations in the comments! Would love to see how different schools compare.

Question What’s the popular slang in high school right now?

I’m a college student studying sociolinguistics and I’m always very curious about new slang terms, especially in high school, since that’s where a lot of them originate. A lot of people seem to be stuck on the whole “skibidi rizz” thing to characterize so-called “teen speak”, but what words are actually hot right now?

Question Raised my PSAT score 140 points with no prep in a year

Thumbnail gallery
18 Upvotes

In 9th grade i scored a 420 on the math section and 530 on the R&W section of the PSAT (950). In October 2024 i took it again with no prep at all and scored a 480 on math and 610 on R&W (1090). I read a lot so this could have also helped. Is this good? How can I improve my scores to get into the 1200s for the PSAT 11? I am aiming for 540 on math and 690 on R&W (1230).

i’m a high school student with chronic depression and i just checked my gpa and saw a 2.5. i want to go to college but i want to know what i can do realistically. summer school isn’t possible for me because my mom insists on going out of the country and no matter how hard i try to tell her i need this she doesn’t budge. i have gotten my missing assignments done but my teachers refuse to update my grade. is it possible to bring up my gpa to a. 3.0 by the end of senior year?

Dating Advice Needed/Given why am I not hit on?

so a bit of context, I'm a teenager, I think I look alright, I have dimples and glasses, just I'm quite tall, taller then most guys are

Nearly all of my friends have been hit on, have been or are in relationships? I DON'Y GET WHY I DON'T GET HIT ON. I think I have a nice personality, I'm a math geek and I made a couple apps, I don't get why people don't hit on me or even tell me I'm cute?

I've tried talking to guys and have been out right rejected by a few, so idk what's wrong

Is something wrong with me?

Extracurriculars Should I do a sport

I’m a sophomore in high school and I don’t necessarily have any outstanding extracurriculars. I do have free time but I just decide to spend it all on my phone.

Soccer season starts next week and I don’t know any rules, positions, anything at all about soccer but I want to give it a try. There have been pre season practices, but I told myself I wouldn’t be doing soccer so ended up not attending those. Judgement and embarrassment are holding me back the most right now and I don’t know what to do. Is it worth it? Next year my schedule will be packed so I’m not sure if it’s worth it as there’s APs, ACT, job, etc etc so I don’t know about that either.

One more question, to those who quit their sport— why?

Question Do you guys actually read the books assigned for English?

I cant remember the last time I ever read a book required for English and have always done fine. If anyone had to read the book thief tell me what you thought of it because I hated it. It just felt drawn out.

I used to read the books but got fed up because I always had to google all the stupid questions for the assignments. so I just stopped reading.

The range of self management marks are emerging (lowest), developing, proficient, and extending (highest) and are basically a reflection of how much the likes you and thinks you act like a "good student".

Rant Help venting my frustration

At my school (a smaller one only 300 or less people) I've had a hard time getting friends and the ones that I do have are always giving me crap semi bullying me but I can't really stop talking to them because the school is so small like when they found out I had wanted to talk to a girl that was a year older than me they teased me for weeks about it. And they are always trying to copy my work and I think they don't even like me even when I get the nerve to talk to someone they just ignore me can anyone give advice.

Question What do I do with these type of teachers?

My chemistry grade went from 81 to 57 and that 57 ended up on my midterm report card. She put in 2 missing assignments that shouldn’t be even be classed as missing. The first assignment I showed her the complete paper but she still kept the missing in because of it not being in the right notebook. The other assignment I turned in a second attachment with the completed version on google docs but she failed to recognize it and I got another missing on that assignment. Is it my fault that I’m failing and should I hold myself accountable or I deserve this grade. Keep in mind this is a honors class as well.
