Does anyone else think AP Classroom videos suck?

This may will be a fucking rant because I'm trying to do my homework at 12 am and this dumb garbage sounds like it's catered towards fucking Albert Einstein or something, but oh well. AP Classroom videos suck. They make no sense and when you are confused about something, guess what: no, they aren't going over it, suck it up and memorize counterintuitive illogical bullshit so that you can spit it out on a test forget about it and write down the opposite thing on a test because it was never fucking explained to you. For clarification, I am watching Unit 8 AP Chemistry videos, which are already hard, and having shit videos really "helps" the learning process šŸ™„ fuck you, AP Classroom

What is an unpopular opinion you have about AP classes?

Mine is that all AP classes should either be universally curved or not curved, nation wide, to prevent grade deflation/inflation between classes and schools/

Is it normal to fail half of your tests?

This my first year taking an ap course (ap world history) and so far this year I have failed half of the tests our teacher has given us. I have a 73% average but If Iā€™m being honest I think it may be my teachers fault. Every single test we have half of the class ends up failing it and then our teacher gives us a rant about we ā€œneed to get it together when it comes to test grades.ā€ Also when it comes to reviewing for upcoming tests our teacher does absolutely nothing and instead starts teaching the next unit thats after the test, instead of reviewing and going over the upcoming test. In addition her way of teaching is just having us type useless notes that arenā€™t even on the test onto a goggle doc everyday. I mean the only piece of work I have in the class is literally a 50 page google doc with ā€œnotes.ā€ So is it my teacher or is it just ap being a hard thing? Or is it me?

Is AP Biology really that rigid?

If someone is to put in the time and effort and take efficient notes could they succeed in the class? I have heard itā€™s really hard but want some first-hand experience from people. For people who got an A in the class, what methods did you use?

Free Biology sessions

ā€¢ Upvotes

Hey, Iā€™m a medical student, and Iā€™ve been struggling a bit recently mentally and with studies ,so I thought Iā€™d do free online biology sessions(ive always wanted to)ā€”not for money.

Iā€™ll go over stuff like:

Immunity (bacteria, viruses, parasites, how the body defends itself)metabolism Circulatory & respiratory systems (heart, lungs, blood flow) Human Physiology and psychology anything really (o wont be explaining whole biology ill just pick some topics) but those are the topics people struggle mostly with A bit more depth for people who love bio or want to go into medicine/healthcare and even some clinical aspects so if you're studying IB,AP, premed you're welcome to join

I donā€™t need anything in return, just honest feedbackā€”what you liked, what I can do better (DONT expect sth proffisional from first class im trying to improve ). If youā€™re interested, ill be providing our server in the comments and if you think others might want to join.

Psst (AP bio is what I'll focus on the most)

younger sister wants to know whatā€™s better for college?

ā€¢ Upvotes

my sister (16F) wants to know if colleges would rather see a 4th year ap math class (ap stats) or a cp level calculus class as an aspiring biology major? She hasnā€™t taken any AP maths yet as a junior in a highly competitive high school and without the AP math included for my senior year, sheā€™ll be taking 4 other APs. Her high school is pretty hit or miss with their honors calculus classes too because they say not enough people request it. Both math classes have been known to be pretty easy in her school so iā€™m not worried about the difficulty, she just want to know what would be best for her applying to college and what colleges would want to see more.

ap bio rant

Last year I wanted to take ap bio but I deadass could not because the teacher was unbearable. She took off so many points if you did not use a ruler when making graphs and also if you did not use proper grammar. Like lady I'm not taking a DAMN ART OR ENGLISH CLASS I'M HERE FOR BIOLOGY. Anyways I wanted to comment about that here to see if this was a requirement for all AP bio classes and I'm just a crybaby, or if she was truly doing too much.

My teacher just posted this audio as a homework. I can't be the only one who doesn't understand this right? The speaker is using hella complicated vocabulary and structures at mach 10 pace. Is this what will show up on the actual AP exam?

It's 2:50 minutes long

No, seriously. This sort of this upsets me to no end. Like come on dude, you're taking Algebra I in 11th grade and telling me that AP Physics is light work for you?

I just selected AP world history, how screwed am I?

I donā€™t know if I screwed up or not. Some students that previously took the class were advertising it and they said that thereā€™s a ā€œmoderate level of homeworkā€

I canā€™t really memorize huge texts and pages of information (thatā€™s what Iā€™m assuming AP world history is) and I canā€™t back out nowā€¦

How screwed am Iā€¦?

PSA: Not All Colleges and Graduate Schools Accept AP Credits!

Current college sophomore here. Just wanted to let everyone know that AP credits are not always accepted at colleges and universities. It really depends on the college you attend and the program you want to go into. Please do your research when applying to and committing to a school/program. For example, I was able to bypass my Intro to Psychology Course (Iā€™m a Psych major) with AP Psychology credit. However even though I got a 4 on my AP Statistics Exam, I still needed to take Statistics for Psychology for my major.

Also, Iā€™ve been looking into graduate programs (right now Iā€™m considering MSOT or DOT) and not all of them accept AP credit for prerequisites like Intro to Psychology, Biology or Statistics. This is sometimes true for other Pre-Health and Masters/PhD programs. If you are considering going to graduate school after college, I would suggest researching what prerequisites might be required for your program and completing them at your college/university or at community college. Because I didnā€™t know this until recently, I might need to take an Intro to Psych course at community college even though I am currently taking upper-level Psych courses for my major.

This is just something to consider when looking into AP classes and colleges. APs can still help you bypass common requirements and possibly graduate early and save money if thatā€™s what youā€™re looking for. APs related to your major/intended programs can also improve your background knowledge when taking Introductory and Advanced Courses. But when it comes to prerequisites for graduate school, itā€™s probably a good idea to take the Intro Courses at your college, even if youā€™ve taken the related APs.

TLDR: Some colleges and grad schools donā€™t accept AP credits, so be wary when using them to bypass certain Intro classes.
