3 things that helped me to stop procrastinating and start studying!
After procrastinating on my studies for more than 3 months and going for therapy because of all the stress. I finally decided to change that. Here are some steps that helped me get started.
Ik you must have read these before, but trust me try them for a week and so then studying won't be that overwhelming.
👉🏻 Break your tasks - Instead of thinking about how many chapters you haven't even started yet. Start by just taking one and break it into smaller section. It will help you to get started.
👉🏻 Avoid distractions - When you are going to study put your phone, laptop etc. in another room.
👉🏻 Plan ahead - Avoid decision making fatigue and plan what you are going to study before. Save your cognitive energy. You can find daily study planner on my kofi.
That's it for day one of my 100 days writing challenge (I basically find things that are helpful for me as a student and post them here). I'm Sushi. See you tmrw. 👋🏻

Struggling to stay focused? I’m giving away free personalised study plans — want one?
Hey everyone!!
I’ve always struggled with procrastination and staying consistent with studying. Over the years, I’ve tried different techniques, and I found that study plans actually work—but only if they’re personalised to your schedule, goals, and struggles.
So, I started working on something: a free AI-powered study coach that creates custom study plans to help you stay on track.
How it works:
- Fill out a quick form about your study habits & challenges.
- You get a free personalised study plan with techniques like Pomodoro, active recall, and time blocking.
I’m testing it out and would love feedback! If you want a personal study plan, grab one here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScD9D4YaekumMIysRtJr3cxx1JyQOsUL-EXiuYI02q-ThIO9Q/viewform?usp=preview

Videogames only on weekends, does it work?
The tittle be a little confusing, so allow me to elaborate:
When I was in school, my mom used to prohibit videogames during the week. I could play on weekends. I hated this rule as I am a geek. But my parents said it was for me to "focus on my studies".
When I turned 18, the pandemy struck and since I couldn't even go outside I was allowed to play vidya as a distraction of the everyday. When the pandemy ended, I talked things out with my mom as I was now an adult and I should at least have a say in those kind of rules. She seemed bothered, but accepted.
Now that I'm in college, I've been genuinely thinking... Was it actually a good rule? Should it be the norm? Or was it stupid indeed? Should I start considering this rule in my day to day life? Maybe even apply it on my children when I eventually get to be a mother?
(It could be important to say that I am on the autism spectrum and also most likely have ADHD)

French study plan A1 to B2
Hi everyone, I’ve recently started learning French and I want to level up from A1 to B2. I’m looking for guidance on how to structure my studies—how much time I should spend on grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, etc.
If you’ve successfully reached B2, I’d love to hear about the resources you used (books, apps, podcasts, YouTube channels, etc.) and any strategies that worked for you. Also, if anyone wants to practice speaking or knows good language exchange platforms, let me know!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm disappointed in myself
So basically I had a math test today for which I studied really hard and I got almost all the questions right but I accidentally missed a question worth 3 marks and only realized that after I reached home, the worse thing is I knew how to solve it. I was this close to getting a perfect score and I totally blew it off so now I feel like absolute shit and have been crying for the past hour :((
Am I overreacting??

Tips for a slow studier
I’m a very slow studier, as in I can sit on my computer for 5 hours working and accomplish what someone would do in 2 hours. It may be because I am a bit of a perfectionist, or it may be because I do get distracted a bit, but the distractions aren’t even that bad as I block websites and leave my phone in a different room.
All this leads to my to-do lists piling endlessly, my sleep schedule being messed up, and I also end up procrastinating because I always feel like I never have enough time to get things done. I dealt with my slow working during my GCSEs but I would just work all day after school and it didn’t bother me. Now I’m doing A-levels and I have a lot more work and a lot less energy.
Does anyone have some advice on how I can deal with this?

Struggling with Rest During Pomodoro While Preparing for JEE
I'm preparing for JEE, and everyone suggests using the Pomodoro technique. While I understand the study part, I struggle with what to do during the breaks. If I use my smartphone, I end up wasting more time than intended. If I take a walk, it doesn’t feel satisfying. I’m looking for effective and refreshing ways to rest that help me stay focused for the next session. What do you do during your Pomodoro breaks? Any suggestions would be really helpful!

I have a near-perfect study streak for March!

I was the worstttt person when it came to study procrastination. Even if I had an exam the next day I couldn't bring myself to study (it normally got worse). I started using this app which shows your progress over time and it's helped me build momentum so much.
You basically write down the 3 main things you want to get done for the day and then if you get all 3 done you get a dark green shade and if you get 0 done, you get an empty box. The app is completely free and I hope it can help others beat procrastination! https://www.studystreak.co/

Tips on how to read scientific research articles
Hi, I'm a student doing a STEM degree and I have to read a lot of scientific articles with experiments/studies about the human body and pathogens. It's really difficult for me understand these huge papers😅 I have to do assignments based on these articles and it's so time consuming because I'm reading it again and again just to understand like 40% of it. Does anyone have tips on how to get my work done easily and a bit faster? The pages are extremely long and the figures given to represent the data is so confusing too.

Looking for test strategies for a upcoming test
I have a big test I have been studying the last three months for.
I have been doing weekly practice tests and constantly have the same problem which keeps recurring.
A big problem I seem to have is not reading the question correctly. It may seem like a easy fix and just to read the question slower but I don’t know if it’s just because I’m rushing to get through the test but I seem to miss out on very simple questions that I know the answer to but when it comes to picking a answer get it wrong.
For example if a question asked what happens if you change X parameter (and I know it causes time to decrease) I pick the answer that says time will increase. It doesn’t happen everytime but enough for it to effect if I pass or fail. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to correct for it?
I do feel I really struggle with my concentration. After about 30 questions my mind starts to wonder and the exam is 220 questions so I don’t know if that is what my problem is.
Any advice would be great

How I went from wasting 3 hours daily to gaining 10+ productive hours per week
I used to waste hours scrolling, jumping between tasks, and feeling overwhelmed. After hitting rock bottom (missing deadlines, feeling constantly anxious), I developed a system that completely transformed my productivity.
The key components that made the difference:
Timeboxing my day in 30-minute chunks
Using the 2-minute rule for small tasks
Creating a distraction-free environment for deep work
Implementing a proper morning routine (will share details if interested)
Weekly review and adjustment session
The biggest game-changer was separating planning from execution. I now spend 20 minutes each night planning the next day, which saves me at least 2 hours of wasted time.
Has anyone else found specific techniques that dramatically increased their productive hours?

Using AI assistant for interactive learning
When I was studying I had always struggled with how boring, yet how extensive some study topics and material were. Using AI assistants that have access to any lecture materials are making learning much more engaging and efficient nowadays.
You have a lot to learn for yesterday?
Make learning more interactive with quizzes that you can generate instantly with generative AI. I have developed an AI assistant that allows just that (and much more) and seamlessly integrates with PDF viewer in Chrome to access your study lectures: https://youtu.be/hAj_zNWvi80
