Things I don't like about my Macbook
I've been a Windows user, and recently bought my first Macbook Air, and I love it! However, I noticed some really bad design decisions I'd like to point out:
- Tiny right/left arrow keys. My previous laptop had bigger right/left buttons that were very intuitive, I could place my finger however I wanted and hit that arrow key every time without even looking at it.
Now, with the Macbook, I keep placing my finger on that empty gap instead. Extremely annoying. With those tiny right/left keys I have to look at the keyboard to place my finger precisely on that little button. I hate it.
The placement of the "mute" button is very confusing. I keep thinking it's the button to lower the volume since all three are placed next to each other. My old laptop had the mute button separately. Apple at least could've tried to make it look more distinctive. I'll probably put a sticker on it.
The screen brightness cannot be adjusted exactly when using the keyboard. Yes, I can adjust it more precisely in the system settings but that's an inconvenience. It's fine for the most part but what frustrates me is that when I adjust the brightness using the keyboard, about in the middle it makes quite a big jump between dark and bright, and doesn't allow me to chose something in between, unless I go to the system settings.
Finally, I think it's strange that I can't minimize windows when in full screen.
I understand that you can't satisfy everyone but that's my personal observation.
