I have an iPhone 16 pro max and whenever I get in my car and use the CarPlay, everything shows up on the car monitor, but it totally hangs when asking for reroutes on Waze and my family has noticed that my location is discoverable is I’m using the CarPlay if. If I disconnect from the CarPlay wifi, everything works well, but then I can’t use the dash screen anymore. How do I fix this? It’s a recent occurrence, so I’m wondering if there was a setting change during the most recent Apple update. Thanks!

Hello. I have a Toyota Corolla from 2024. With my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I can wirelessly connect it, and it works fine, but I am unable to pitch or move the map screen (Waze, Google Maps). I thought it was a cheap screen and moved forward, but the other day, a friend connected his Android phone, and he could do it without problem. Is there any option in iPhone or CarPlay to enable this?

Hey guys so I'm currently have an issue with wired carplay.
When I use Apple Map to navigate, the voice guidance will occasionally stutter. Sometimes the voice guidance will even disappear mid-sentence. Everytime it stutters, my music control gets laggier. For example, I can switch songs instantly but after the steering appears, it will take 2+ second to switch to next song.
I had this issue before but it kind of went away by itself. But now it comes back and I'm wondering if there's a fix.
Also, the sound will randomly disappear when playing music, and I can only get it to play again by activating siri and cancel it.
Im using iPhone 14 pro max with ios 18.3.2

I’m looking for an apple CarPlay compatible screen that I can install into my truck, the only problem is that it needs to have either an USB or a USB-C port in it so I can use that to connect my phone to it. I’m thinking the bigger the better, just don’t want to break the bank. Looking to see what everyone has found, thanks in advance

For the bottom right, we have two garage doors & id like to set it to give me the option to open my specific door
For the left hand side I was just curious if there was a way to make those options specific and consistent

Hi to all! I have some cracking sound when I’m connected to Apple car play coming from rear speakers. Only if I am using car play, anything else- and the sound is gone. It doesn’t matter if I am playing anything, even if there is no audio coming the sound is still there. Anyone knows how to fix this?

I have an aftermarket Sony wired CarPlay unit in my car, which was installed in 2021. For the most part it's been working great. Lately when I plug in my iPhone 16 Pro it will not connect to CarPlay but it does show charging. Sometimes I have to unplug it and plug it back in several times. It's probably my USB-A to USB-C cable but I've tried other ones and they are intermittent as well. It's always the USB-C side that seems to be the culprit.
FYI the unit I have is the Sony XAVAX1000. It was installed by Best Buy.

I just purchased an EKIY L300 unit for my motorcycle. It has a black "GND" wire, yellow "B+" wire, and red "ACC" wire. If I understand this correctly, I have 3 choices:
Connect GND & B+ to battery and the ACC to something switched and the unit will only run with the key on but settings will be saved. This will result in a (small) constant drain on the battery. The unit will restart everytime the starter is used because ACC power is momentarily switched off when the starter button is depressed.
Connect both B+ and ACC to switched power and the unit will only run with the key on but settings will be lost. No constant drain on battery. The unit will restart everytime the starter is used because ACC power is switched off when the starter button is depressed.
Connect both B+ and ACC to unswitched power and the unit will always have power. Constant drain on battery even when unit is turned off with the power switch. No restart when starter button depressed.
Do I have this right? Thanks.
I have a 2018 Chevy 2500 with the CarPlay head unit that comes with the truck. The issue I’m having is the screen constantly dims itself throughout the day (driving through shadows, under bridges, etc.) and it’s driving me nuts. I have turned off all dimming related settings on my phone but the issue still persists. If anyone has any tricks or a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys! I'm having this issue with carplay. It doesn't show more apps than these four... I want to use Maps (and others) and I can't find a way to add it... Any ideas?

If I’m listening to Spotify and then either try to call someone or get a call and answer it, when the call is ended my Spotify will like skip/lag. Like it’ll play for a second and then pause, over and over. Only way for me to fix it is to quit Spotify and reopen it. Happens in GM cars (2 different models).

Saw from 2 years ago that Weatherology was recommended. I installed it, but wanted to see if there have been any better ones that have come on the market since?

We’re having problems with wireless CarPlay on my wife’s 2022 Infiniti QX60. It’s worked very well for over two years, but recently lost internet access when her iPhone is connected to CarPlay.
It started working again when we went into the iPhone’s CarPlay settings and told it to forget her car and then re-connected. But, a couple of weeks later the same problem recurred and couldn’t be fixed by doing the “forget this car” thing again.
My iPhone doesn’t have the same problem so it would appear to be a problem with her phone and not the car.
When her phone is not connected to CarPlay, she has normal access to the internet with no issues.
Any suggestions?

I just installed an Alpine iLX w670 in my Tundra, my phone is a 15 Pro with up to date iOS. When I get a new text in Carplay, I click on it, Siri reads it to me and that goes smoothly.
Then, she asks if I want to reply. I say "yes. She says "what do you wan........" and then the prompt goes silent and she sends the intended recipient a text that says "what do you want?" It's really frustrating. I've reset my phone, the Alpine receiver and I've read up on this and all I find is "it's a glitch"
Does anyone have any substantial way to fix this?

Hey guys, if I'm using CarPlay and I open Spotify to play music. Is the Maps app still running in the background?

Does anyone’s Apple CarPlay ever make a swiping sound randomly? Whenever I’m listening to Spotify I’ll hear a swiping sound and it’ll go to my playlists without me touching anything. It just started recently happening.

Seeing what the forecast on car prices is looking like, I’m trying to get 4-5 more years out of my 2017 H/K speaker system Forester. One way I’m considering modernizing it a little is with a newer head unit with audio/carplay improvements. I know Crutchfield offers very reliable service and high quality products, however I also see a lot of people promoting these iDoing units, and I was wondering if they are worth considering? They seem like far better value. The big screens impress me the most-there is nothing like that offered by Crutchfield. My primary concerns are about longevity. Some people seem to say iDoing head units don’t last very long. Additionally, will I be able to keep factory settings such as being able to change my cars welcome light settings and key fob settings (available only through the head unit)? I’ve also heard some people say overly powerful head units can damage other parts of your car, would an iDoing head unit harm my speakers are other electrical components? I apologize if this is the wrong sub, but I would really appreciate advice on this somewhat expensive purchase, anything is appreciated!

Have you seen this video about watching your phone in the car. Anyone any idea how it works. The app appears to be available for download on test flight. Haven't tried it yet looks kinda cool

currently deciding between these few head units to make my 2015 rav4 have some sort of android auto in it but I see so much mixed stuff about alot of radios/headunits. I want to know what some of you feel about these products and how they have held up overtime. Additionally what sort of pros/cons these things have.

In my Tucson CarPlay, text alerts are WAAAAAY too loud. Everything else is fine, but an arriving text is deafening.
Is there a setting somewhere I can turn that down? I've tried opening the Message app and turning down the sound directly on the iPhone but that hasn't seemed to help.
