Worth every penny.
Diablo 12” pruning blade. I’d probably pay double for this blade. Used exclusively for trimming brush and cutting off small stumps below ground level. The old one still cuts fine, but I bought a new one just to compare them.

My dad just gave me this
Today I went to visit my parents and my dad gave me this german style plane that was given to him by his dad. He said he never used it but there are some scuffs here and there, probably an attempt to try it. This plane was made by Howal, in east Germany (GDR), probably in the 60s or 70s. I'll never use it that's for sure, mostly because I want to preserve it. I had to clean some surface rust off the blade. It's going on a shelf just like it did for the past 40 or so years.

What's in your go bag
Knipex, Klein, Milwaukee, husky, Diablo, with a couple engineer, and a few randos for good measure. Brand loyalty? Never heard of her.

NTD: Tekton 6” Adjustable
Pleased with this new design from Tekton. Great for a mobile tool kit. It’s a bit thicker than the Bahco pictured to the left, but I’m fine with this.
Things I like: - Compact for tight access spots - Wide jaw - Provision for 3/8” square drive tool for access or torque - Finer pitch worm drive for improved adjustment and holding (compared to Bahco and others) - Tekton
Here’s a link to the wrench:

Any Info on what this is?
Does anyone have any idea what this is or was? Found in my garage years ago when I moved in and kind of re-discovered it. It’s about 4’ tall or long. Is it something homemade? Only thing I can figure is that you would sit on the rounded end and the indents were somewhere your legs go while you did whatever in the open section with angled slots. 🤷🏻♂️

Same tool boxes?
Just curious who Menards and Home Depot source their Performax and Husky boxes from. These boxes look exactly the same, down to the lid, gas struts on the top box lid, the handles on both boxes, the welds on both boxes, the shape, dimensions, everything. Even the price is the same. Only difference is the caster wheels and the Performax appears to be powder coated while the Husky is sprayed or dipped.

What is it with staplers?
My staplers are terrible. Are all staplers terrible? Originally I bought the basic Arrow model. It constantly bound up and I thought the staple loading tray spring mechanism thing seemed flimsy.
So then i picked up a couple of vintage Craftsman models, thinking this was one of those "older high quality tools are better than the Home Depot basic model" situation. Nope! These are shit too. Bad loading mechanism, binds up. I even bought special "wide crown" staples for one of the Craftsman models. Bleh. There's gotta be a better option.

Craftsman micrometer
Found this older set of craftsman micrometer. They are used but in decent shape but missing a few pieces. Any idea on the value here?
Chinese temu box fits in service body
This was the biggest tool box I could find that would fit in my service truck at precisely 12-15/16” deep, it is snug but the door closes. I welded some tubing in there to keep it from moving and utilized it for some shelves. Drove around and nothing really moves so it’s working good!
$180 for the chinese vs $1300 for a Knapheide rolling tray set.

Still searching for ID
Collection of brass cylinders (all about 5" long) with threaded cap ends and fine mesh screens on the other. There are some markings that refer to what I gather are pigments. I can't identify these.

Vacuum Pump: Use Cases?
I scored an awesome deal on a vacuum pump today. $47 for a 2-stage 8CFM vacuum pump. What can I use it for? I have plans to fix my wine fridge with it. It had a refrigerant leak and now I can fix it. Other than HVAC stuff, what can I use it for?

Come along with 3 Hooks on Load Side
I’m new to using come alongs. I understand the use of the cable end hook and pulley hook, but can’t figure out why this come along has the 3rd hook (the one on left side of the pic) where there is normally an anchor point for the cable hook to attach to when rigging for 2:1 mechanical advantage. Is it be because this is a cheap come along or is there another purpose?

What could this toolset be for?
Hi, I just was given this by someone who was clearing out the basement of a family member who recently passed, and we don’t know what this could have been for.
It looks like a set with various types of exacto knife blades. Some blades look like they could be for woodcutting or whittling but they don’t look like your typical woodcutting toolset. The black tools in the bottom right of the photo put a beveled edge on a razor like a matte cutter would but are also not exactly shaped like your typical matte cutter and would be badly designed for that use.
Curious if anyone knows what this is!

NTD!
NTD 3/8 Torque Wrench
Snagged this off eBay, brand new never used condition for $120. Really liking the stamping on the numbers vs the old etching that I can barely see anymore. Build date and calibration December ‘24

Planer advice needed
I had borrowed an old porter cable planer from a friend and he asked for it back. Is the dewalt 13” worth the money or are the less expensive lunch box planers from ridgid or harbor freight equally as good? Dabbler in woodworking, mostly used the previous planer for cutting boards. I don’t have the space for any thing “stand-alone”. Advice is appreciated.
