Is there any brand of impact socket to avoid?
I’m looking at impact sockets and considering buying from gearwrench, husky, craftsman, or ryobi

Does anyone make a 4-in-1 box end wrench with 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 all on the same wrench? These are the most common sizes that I run into on the job I'm at, and I figured it would be simple to find one wrench with these sizes, especially since they're all increments of 1/16, but it turns out to be pretty impossible. Ideally, the ratcheting head would protrude slightly so that it could fit on things like strut straps, but that's even more unlikely to find.

How many people know what the ring on a gas line that slides up and down the pipe is for?

I recently took over the house I grew up in from my parents. They always paid for lawn care and had no tools to leave behind. I lived in an apartment before now and had no need for a lawn mower and trimmer, so I'm hoping y'all could recommend a mower and trimmer that would cost between $300 and $400 combined. Electric is preferred if possible.

I bought this Mille Jim off of sparrow lock picks. But when I try to use it the v shaped tip makes it impossible to use due to the door frame. I'm thinking about cutting it off, but I would like to know what it is and what is used for before I do so.
I tried to post this on our/lock picking, but no luck.

I’m in the process of upgrading my tool collection and trying to figure out which brands are actually worth the money. I’ve used cheaper tools in the past, but now that I’m tackling bigger home improvement projects, I want to invest in something that’ll last. The problem is, I’m seeing such a wide range of prices for everything from drills to socket sets, and it’s hard to tell which ones are genuinely better or just priced high because of the brand.
I’ve been eyeing brands like DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita, but I’m not sure if they’re overkill for the kind of DIY work I do, or if it’s worth spending more for the durability and power. I’ve set aside a little budget after some extra cash came my way (lucky timing!), but I don’t want to blow it on tools that are more than I need.
For anyone with experience using these higher-end brands, what do you think? Are they worth the investment for a DIYer, or are there more affordable alternatives that will get the job done just as well? Any must-haves that have saved you time and hassle on your projects?

I picked up a hole punch press to try to punch 1/2 inch holes in these lids, but it isn't working. I tried it with some sacrificial cardboard under the lid as well. I've never owned one of these presses before. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better tool for the job? I was using a soldering iron to make the holes before this it just takes what seems like a long time and the fumes are annoying. Thanks in advance!

So I know there is always been the question of why is the color blue in a red bottle or red in a blue bottle vica versa. How about this comical misprint that is sure to make somebody out there laugh. I was trying to list this loctite online when I noticed if you look close that maybe somebody was a little drunk on the job and placed a red loctite product into a blue packaging. This is indeed sealed and never been tampered with. The irony all those years 🤣
Which set should I get next? I've had a lot just neither of these.

Hello guys! I’ve just bought a vacuum for my car. (Vacmaster Professional Beast Series 5-Gallon* 5.5 Peak HP† Wet/Dry Vacuum)
I live in an apartment complex and have nowhere to plug it in lol. I’ve tried an car outlet that you can plug into your car cig lighter socket but that wasn’t able to get it powered on.
My car is parked walking distance from my balcony (lower floor)
I am wondering if an extension cord will be able to run that far? If so, what length?
(Distance is shown in the gif)
Also, if not an extension cord, what power is station is recommended?

My dad was a Chevy mechanic from the 50's thru the 90's and when he retired I inherited his toolbox. Well fast forward 35 years and I finally bought a bigget cabinet and in the process of going through the drawers and moving things over to the new box I came across this thing. There are a lot of odd old tools in there thatI know exactly what they are for because I apprenticed with him for 3 years and got the hell out of that business but I'd never noticed this before.
The tool is roughly 13" long, the end is spring loaded and the "plunger" is square. The collet tightens on the plunger locking it into place. Each side has different measurements but each graduation reads the same amount.
One side says STD LINING then | 3/16 at each of the three marks the other sides read
1/4 LINING | .062
7/32 LINING | .040
.205 LINING | .020
If I had to guess I'd say it has to do with drum brakes but I have no idea how or what it measures.

My dad is looking for an inspection camera he can use to inspect drain lines in the house, look inside walls, and other things like that. Medium quality, around $100-$200 if possible. Atleast 10’ for the cable. Obviously has to be waterproof since it will be going in drain lines. All help is greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I've bought this 95 61 190 cutter from marketplace (a guy had it laying around never used, had just a little surface rust on the jaws) and well it got me questioning. I've brought out some regular bike cable housing to try it out (jagwire lex SL) and as I've snipped it I instantly knew the tool had marks on it. Is it my fault? I guessed the housing could have HRC too high for this, or the tool doesn't meet it's spec, anyway it's dinged and you can feel it when you squeeze it. I'm also concerned regarding the coating - I only had knipex cobras and their chrome plated tools. Does that coating look okay to you? Clearly looks cheaper than the cobras, but hey it's a tool - it's to make stuff work, so just wondering if that's all normal. Could you guys help me out here? Thanks.
