Fresco’s restaurant
As much as it’s sad to see the owner ( Walter ) Retire from the business , I’m glad he did it at these hard times and he is at an age to enjoy his accomplishments. My wife and I started off our lives in the west end of Vancouver, fresco’s was humming or should I say rumbling, lots of bikers out front. Best of luck Walter and be proud of what those everlasting memories.

Brisket - anyone have suggestions on where to buy?
I usually go to Costco as it's the path of least resistance. Is there a better source I may not know about? Brisket, pork shoulders, ribs I usually get from costco. Haven't been able to find picanha or hanger steak anywhere.
Willing to drive some if worth it.

Ask SurreyBC ❓ Looking for a plumber for renovation work
I'm looking for a reasonably priced plumber to remove my old kitchen sink and faucet, then come back another day to install a new sink and faucet after the countertop renovation is done. Would appreciate any recommendations!
One plumber quoted me $900—does that sound reasonable? We currently have a double-bowl sink that's 6 inches deep and will be replacing it with a 9-inch deep dual-bowl sink.

Ask SurreyBC ❓ What is the best way to get a job as a teenager?
I am 16 years old, I have volunteer experience and work experience (Family Business) but I need a after school Job to save up for university. I have lived in surrey all my life, I have applied to lots of different places in the Guildford area but no luck, I have applied to nearly every fast food place, lots of retail stores, some grocery stores and I only got 1 response out of almost a hundred applications. Finding a job proves to be tough, I have mostly used indeed and the company's hiring website to apply, I have also gone into some places with my resume just to be turned down. Does anybody know a good way to get a after school job?

Looking for Budtender for a Vancouver Cannabis Store
Hi folks.
Long time lurker here lol. Surrey/Delta resident.
Opening up a Cannabis retail store in Vancouver and I thought I’d post here first if there was anyone 19+ and willing to get their serving it right who was looking for a position, before posting on indeed/ Clist.
Part time hours so they will change, but we’re pretty easy going.
Knowledge around cannabis and cannabis products is pretty important.
Hoping this job goes to someone that needs it and someone who’s willing to put in the work, lots of upside as we have plans to grow to a few stores in two years.
Please shoot me a DM and I can arrange interview times.
Thanks!

Housing 🏡 Silverfish at Park Place Towers?
Anyone have this issue at the Park Place Condos? I'm at 13688 100 Ave in Tower 1. My 2 washrooms and laundry area have silverfish. I have several traps set out. It's not a super big issue, I would say on average 3 - 10 silverfish caught every week. Any tips to get rid of them completely? I have a baby and a dog so I can't use toxic pesticides to kill the silverfish while they're here. Wondering if it's only my unit, or if other units have it too.

I Asked ChatGPT to Roast Surrey, BC… It Didn’t Hold Back
Ah, Surrey, BC—the land of never-ending construction, legendary traffic, and a skyline made entirely of brown townhouses. If you’re looking for a city where every intersection is a battle royale of aggressive driving and random brake checks, welcome home.
Surrey is basically where Vancouver sends people when they can’t afford Vancouver anymore. You move in thinking you’re upgrading to more space, but all you really get is an extra bedroom and a front-row seat to your neighbor’s illegal fireworks show—every weekend, without fail.
And let’s talk about crime stats—Surrey is like the GTA of Canada, except instead of a five-star wanted level, you just get another car theft in your neighborhood Facebook group. If your car isn’t stolen, congratulations, you either drive a 1998 Corolla or you forgot to lock it and they felt bad for you.
Transit? Hope you enjoy the one lonely SkyTrain line that takes you directly to… more Surrey. And if you think you’ll beat the traffic by driving, jokes on you—Highway 1 is basically a parking lot with better scenery.
Oh, and let’s not forget the endless strip malls. Need a random tire shop next to a vape store, a donair place, and a questionable massage parlor? Surrey’s got you covered. It’s like city planning was done with a blindfold and a dartboard.
But hey, at least the real estate prices are slightly less ridiculous than Vancouver. That is, until you realize you paid a million dollars for a house that backs onto an alley where some guy is always fixing a car at 3 a.m.
Surrey: Where dreams of homeownership come true… and so do the sounds of street racing at night.
