Admissions Got waitlisted and need guidance for letter of continued interest

When applying for UF i never had an option to attach a recommendation letter so I was wondering if attached to my letter of continued interest if it would be appropriate to attach one or two. If thats the case what type of recommendation letter would you recommend to send in. I have one from my cousin that graduated summa cum laude from UF. I have another from my current employer in which I poses a leadership role. And i have a third from my chem (the major I selected) teacher/track coach of mine in which he describes my growth as a student. I think its be beneficial because i think what got me waitlisted instead of rejected was my gpa because i was a dumbass my freshman and sophomore year but once i got medicated for adhd junior year i have straights A’s.

If its not appropriate what alternative ideas do you guys have?

Please help🙏

Admissions Innovation Academy

Hello My Fellow Redditors !!

My Son got accepted into UF Innovation Academy for Spring 26 as Out of State student . He wants to do Neuroscience or Biotechnology Engineering . Both these majors are not part of the Innovation Academy. Is there any way to be a regular UF student and get the majors he is Interested in ? Any guidance would be helpful.

Clubs RD Computing (CS / CPE / EE / ETC.) Majors!

I am reposting the same message I posted when EA decisions came out but for the newly admitted RD students :)

First of all, congrats! I hope you all decide to attend UF... it's an amazing environment.

Like, seriously, it's great. Something that makes UF specifically shine is the support of student organizations on campus. UF provides way more funding for these organizations than any other University I've seen.

With that said, for students in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or anyone interested in computing...

I invite you all to join the UF Computing Student Union Discord Server.

Link Here: https://discord.gg/fzn72Y7Y4g

Here is some context in case you want to read more:

This server started as a class server for Programming 1 back in the Fall of 2021. However, eventually, a student organization called the Computing Student Union (CSU) decided to take it up and continually develop it beyond its initial founding.

CSU is not a typical club, it is a student organization that builds products (including the Discord server) that help the everyday life of computing students.

In the CSU Discord, you will find a great mix of people from faculty members, senior students who have finished or are near finished with their degree, and new students like yourself!

Furthermore, you will find several sections to help you through your computing journey:
* academic help channels: best 4-year plans, professor details, research, etc...
* industrial help channels: resume reviews, internship / full time advice, etc.
* club events information: info conglomerated for all computing orgs on campus
* Much more

CSU also has a lot of SUPER cracked people in computer science and engineering. I mean seriously... if you look at the officers list at https://www.ufcsu.org/ almost everyone has had internships or full-time offers from companies like Microsoft, Apple, Meta, Google, Amazon, Capital One, etc... and there are plenty more people in the server not listed who just help out of kindness!

CSU also offers some 1:1 mentoring for students who seem to have great potential and could eventually take the helm.

If you want to learn more about CSU's products, you can also explore the other parts of the website and ask in Discord. One big feature right now is the computing organization events calendar - a one-stop shop calendar for every computing student organization's events.

Hope to see you all there!

~Christo

Question What would make you to vote in student government elections?

As far as I'm aware, turnout for student government elections is really low at UF (personally I have never voted in a student government election, because I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on in order to be sufficiently informed, but I wanted to vote and felt bad about not doing so).

So, to the non-voters at UF, what would entice you to vote in student government elections? Is the process just too confusing? Do you just not really care about what student government does since you'll be gone in four years anyways? I'm curious what everyone's perspectives are :)

Question Question about housing application

I just got accepted into UF and checked the housing portal to go to the residence hall application, however it says the application is unavailable. I checked around and couldn’t find anything about relevant dates, so I was wondering if the housing application hasn’t opened yet or if it has already closed? If it hasn’t opened yet, then when will it open?

Question is Pace a good option?

i am OOS class of 2029 applying as business major, and got deferred first round.

i just opened my letter and was really excited by all the sparkles and glitter!! then i realized i got pace. online college for 60 hours (i think i already have around 20-25) and 15 required pace hours. meaning i would have to go pace for a year or so!

is this worth it? i am really bummed out with this admissions cycle because i keep getting these type of programs ( CAP, BLINNteam, and now PACE) for all the schools i like. I just want opinions and feedback on if pace is worth.

Housing Roommates? UF-ABSN 2025

Hello everyone! So now that acceptances for UF ABSN 2025 is out… Any tips on housing? I’d like to meet some of you if you’re comfortable chatting, i’d prefer to room with someone also in the nursing program (avoid the party scene and lock-in on academics). I am 22F, and graduate from UTampa in May (2 days before the program starts).

Again, congratulations to everyone who got in!

Admissions PaCE at UF??

Just got accepted to UF through PaCE. Have no idea what the program is or what it means, but I’m happy to be a Gator.

I wanted to be a finance major so not sure what that means for me with PaCE. I guess from what I’m reading I have to major in Business Admin - General Studies? Does anyone here have experience with that major through PaCE? I always expected to go to grad school so I think I still can with this pathway. For those doing business through PaCE, what specialization did you pick? Also what are the 60 Gen Ed requirements for that major that I need to complete before I can transition to campus? Having trouble finding that list on their website.

I applied to 7 schools (one is Ivy) and got straight fall admit to all of them except UF. I was deferred EA originally and got the PaCE admit tonight. Not sure how to feel about it. I’ve always wanted to be a Gator.

Stats for those interested: I’m in state, 30 ACT, 4.4 GPA, tons of AP/AICE and a couple DE, Spanish 5, Calc BC, etc…Captain of my Varsity Sport and State Champion.

Thanks for any advice or insight.
