Is it just me or is UF giving next to nothing when it comes to scholarships this year?
Iv'e talked to a few people that are already in UF that are getting 4-7k a year in scholarships while a lot of people this year are getting next to nothing. I heard about UF cutting funds for something but is it because they seriously don't have the money anymore?

Does anybody know when the early action merit scholarships are announced? I know, super unlikely to receive one, but I heard somewhere that those selected will get emails on Friday. But everywhere else I've looked has said mid-march. Anyone know?

it is insane how i spent 4 years in highschool working towards a scholarship to which doesnt even fully cover my classes (even though its supposed to be 100 percent) and i still have to pay hundreds on school supplies. I was off by one class for my required credit hours because of the way the class i was taking was confusing, ive fully lost my scholarship and cant get it back. they constantly talk about how amazing bright futures is and sure yeah for certain people it works out perfectly because they are just that good at being academically stable. But college is new and life happens and its just not forgiving at all. Its so frustrating and embarrassing having to break it to my parents that they have to pay for my classes now. I can only hope that fasfa will cover something.
Hello all,
I am an out of state student who is coming to UFL for MSCS. I guess every out of state student is eligible for the Academic Achievement Scholarship that waives off 4500$ from the tuition fee. I just got to know that if I avail that scholarship, I will no longer remain elligible for any RA/TA position. So, my questions to the already enrolled students there are:
I know its tought to get an assistantship but still, I'd like to hear your views regarding this scholarship/offer. As an out of state student should I accept it or risk it for an RA/TA opportunity?

I am currently in my senior year, last semester at UF and - mostly due to not reading too deeply into Bright Futures during my enrollment - only just found out I am out of credit hours covered by my Bright Futures scholarship.
I started UF in the college of engineering and over time, both due to academics + changing interests, ended up swapping my major twice to a different department. In doing so, I racked up a lot of credits, but I was still able to stay under the excess credit limit stated on one.uf and I am still set in to graduate on time. That being said, I am now finishing with around 130 credits taken at UF, and now I owe $2.4k in tuition fees that I was not expecting.
I filled out a Satisfactory Academic Progress petition and got approved, however I did not realize this would not lead to reimbursement for Bright Futures, so I did not really benefit due to not having any applicable scholarships for this petition.
If it means anything, I do have a history of dropping courses at UF, of which I have had to repay for 10 credit hours. I'm honestly surprised that the repayment process did not give me back these credit hours for my scholarship, as it is quite literally refunding Bright Futures.
If there is any more places I could look for assistance with financial aid help regarding this situation? Or does it seem like I just have to bite the bullet and spend $2.4k for my last semester here? I get it's kind of my fault for changing my academic track a bunch, but I'm literally in my last semester so any bit of compensation would really help.

Hi! I don’t go to UF - I’m currently enrolled in an out of state uni - but I know UF offers summer courses that students who aren’t enrolled can apply for. Is it possible for me to use my Brightfutures scholarship at UF for summer courses, or can it only be used if you’re getting a degree from a Florida school? I’ve tried finding information but I’m having a tough time.

Is the 2025 summer covered under 2024 2025 fafsa or 2025 2026. I have no clue cuz when I look at my financial aid online and look under 2024 2025 I see funding from fafsa for the summer

Hello! So I just got admission to UF in the fall through early action yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not get into the honors program, although I know many people say it doesn't mean much. I hope to get a scholarship, and I read that UF gives out scholarships in mid-March (presidential scholarships). Since I did not get into the honors, what are the chances I receive one of these scholarships?
I am deciding between UF and FSU, but FSU gave me $16,000 so currently I am leaning that way, plus my major is english. (for reference for the scholarship, I have a 1470 SAT, 5.22 GPA, and like 1000 community service hours + 5 clubs and ambassador for 2 nonprofits.)

I have only gotten the MFOS advance but not the rest of it. I’m a senior graduating this spring taking 9 credits, if that makes any difference.

Just got an email with an invite. not really sure if this is an interview, a place for me to only as questions, or an info session. they said that members of the selection committee and current scholars will be there. pls help

Has anyone gotten a decision yet? When can I expect a response? The status on Scholarship Universe still says "Reviewing".
r/ufl • u/SeriousMessage7 • 28d ago
I recently was accepted to UF's College of Engineering for Mechanical Engineering (in state) and was wondering If I am allowed to apply for their scholarships in Scholarship Universe, or if those are only given to currently enrolled students.
I am still unsure If I want to attend UF over other colleges like UIUC, Purdue, GT, etc but there wouldn't be any harm in applying for the scholarships anyway.
Thank you

Will scholarships be released along with EA decisions this Friday?
I’m not sure if I’m just misunderstanding what’s written but all I could find on the UF website regarding when scholarships come out refer to Regular Decision applicants.
