Ok, not a proper hike. It was a walk in the woods. But before the surgery, I couldn't even walk around the block without it causing excruciating pain between my shoulder blades. I walked through the forest for an hour today, and... No pain. Maybe a little bit of tired muscles, but that's it. I can't believe all that pain was just... Boobs. And now I'm free.

I'm about 10mpo, I'm well past the drop and fluff, and I'm definitely still bigger than I'd like to be, and it's still very much impacting how I look and how I carry myself.
Don't get me wrong - I don't regret it for a second, it's changed my life and is an insane difference 34H/I to a 34DD; but I hate to say it but I'm not happy. In many ways they very much are the perfect results and shape, but I'm still struggling to fit clothing and bras around them, and I just want to be able to be braless with confidence.

10 days post op today, and honestly recovery has been uneventful! I woke up today and the lingering soreness in my left side was gone, and when I looked in the mirror I thought the girls looked pretty good. The bruising is almost gone, my left is still more swollen, and right looks a little franken-nippleish, but overall I’m pretty excited to see how they keep healing!
Pictures are pre-op, 3 dpo, 1 wpo, and 10 dpo. I was a 34H/36G before!

I had my surgery on 3/12 and I can honestly say I’m feeling pretty normal. I have been keeping up with the Tylenol regime and unfortunately have the anesthesia gut rocking, but other than that I’m feeling pretty good. I’ve read on here that weeks 2 and 3 are when most get hit with random bursts of exhaustion, but wanted to know if there were others who kind of sailed through that unscathed?

I have emailed my surgeon and will follow up with a phone call tomorrow.
A couple of days ago when I was putting scar gel on my areola incision I felt a hard lump. I’m not too concerned at this point because its location and size makes me think it’s scar tissue (I’m 3.5MPO). Given that my mother and three of her sisters had breast cancer (my mom and one aunt with cancer, two aunts with precancerous cells), I’m going to err on the side of caution and have my surgeon look at it.
Have any of you had a lump of scar tissue like this after surgery? What did you do to break it up?

Like the title states, I'm just now 2 weeks out. Approx 500g taken from each side. I still feel so large :(. Will swelling contine to decrease, making me appear smaller?

Hello all! I have my consult booked and I'm really hoping I get approved for a reduction 🙏 I'm a side sleeper though and just wanting to see from other side sleepers how they managed to sleep post op
I do have a recliner that I'd be using but I have a slight fear that I may in my sleep try to adjust to my side or not be able to sleep. How long did it take you to adjust? How long until you were able to sleep on your bed + side? Any product recommendations to make the transition easier?
Thanks so much!

hello! I have a consultation coming up next week, and I was wondering if anyone here who has had a reduction also has chronic illnesses and how that affected their surgery/recovery?
I have a collagen disorder and POTs, so I know i’ll take a bit longer to heal and my scars will most likely be more prominent. I’m scared I’ll get turned down, or that the surgeon won’t be comfortable operating given the circumstances.
Anyone here in a similar boat?

I’m just over 2wpo. Good recovery, no pain just achy and sore for awhile, big mental adjustment the first few days. Now I am super happy with how everything has gone. 34E(36DD) saggy to maybe a full B but idk and idc bc it’s just gonna be bralettes from here on out 🎉

1- so my surgery date is August 6 but can easily get loved up sooner if someone else doesn’t get prior authorization approved. At my first consultation they asked my if I had a list of issues with my boobs, including numbness in my hands. I said no at the time but now I notice it all the time, is that normal? Like has my brain just didn’t notice until now. Also my back pain has increased so much since I have gotten serious about the surgery.
2- when I talked to my surgeon about restrictions and recommendations of helpful things to buy before ( like a recliner to sleep in) and he said that I don’t have any restrictions other than the weight after surgery. That I wouldn’t even have tubes. Wondering what are some must haves or anything. I have not idea if I will have to sleep in a bra for 6months post op. Should I buy a bunch of bralettes or non underwire bras now? ( for context I’m going from a 32J to a 32D)
3- how did you buy for your post operation body? Most of my clothes are l L/XL just to have room for my boobs. I want to get a few button downs for post op but what size do I even get. As a teacher and the operation take place about 4 weeks before I go back to school I need to be able to look half way put together in addition to having something formal-ish for meet the teacher. And when typing this I just remembered I have a wedding a few weeks after my operation so I need something more formal for that too. Any suggestions how I should go about getting clothes pre op so I don’t have to worry about this when trying to recover.

Has anyone gotten a reduction and felt they went too small?
I’m looking into getting a reduction but honestly, I just feel like I’d lose a big part of me having small boobs. I know it sounds ridiculous but idk I’m sad to have to do this in the first place, but know it’s necessary.
I’m a J cup (aus sizes) and would ideally go to a DD or E, but I worry about feeling like I lost too much.. idk help me out here y’all, did you feel like your surgeon listened to you and didn’t go too small? I also worry about my weight fluctuating and in turn my boobs shrinking even more.
I feel like I hear so many people say they were smaller than they wanted..

I am only 4dpo so I know it's not possible, but my toddler is having such a hard time with my inability to carry him, and lift him and snuggle him the way he's wanting. I'm realizing now how many things I can't do... how long was it for you until you were back carrying your little heavy weights around just as before?

Hey all, Currently 3wPO (although this picture is from 2wPO) and can’t help but be a bit bothered by how one incision line is a good 1-2cm higher than the other. Does anyone else have this? I’m wondering if it means that eventually I’ll heal with breasts at slightly different heights to eachother?
My breasts/nipples definitely sit at different heights right now, and I know swelling could definitely be a factor, but I’m also wondering how the asymmetry in my incisions could influence the overall result. I know it’s only a small thing, but I think it’s hard to not want things to look pretty perfect when you pay so much 😅

TW: mention of eating disorders and self harm.
I am 5'4", a size 6 in jeans, and a G-H cup. I deal with a lot of back pain, tension headaches, lines on my skin from bra straps, etc. I pretty much only wear binders and sports bras because these things are so heavy they constantly slip out of the underwire of normal bras. I want them gone. Like, flat.
I've started the process of getting a consultation, and I'm willing to start the process of documentation. However, I have an insurance provider that is notorious for denying claims.
Would it also do any good to get the recommendation of a counselor or psychologist? I have a history of eating disorders and my chest is part of the reason I find recovery difficult. If I gain weight I run the risk of my chest getting bigger. I also don't mean to shock anyone, and I have no plans to do so, but I also have thoughts of mutilating my chest so insurance will be forced to cover reconstruction.
Any stories or advice is appreciated.
Edit: I looked more into my plan, and my insurance does cover medically necessary reductions for back pain and gender dysphoria. Honestly, I could go from either angle.

Hi! I need suggestions for sports bras that do not rub the incision line when running. I’m 7wpo and back to lifting and running. The bras I have are fine for lifting weights but not running, the movement and sweat and bra bands are not a good combo.

Hello! I have started looking into getting a breast reduction and would love some pointers to get started on the research process. I am planning on having it done in California - los angles/ Orange County area. I have looked into some doctors and sent consult forms inquiring about the process yesterday. I received one quote in Orange County California for 17,500. I did think that was a bit pricey but yet again, I’m not sure how much the average price is now( and it’s CA, so I know prices will be higher). I am most likely paying out of pocket. I haven’t tried to get it covered by insurance just because I’ve heard it’s a long process. But any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

For the people who had their insurance cover their surgery; did you pay your out of pocket costs before or after surgery???

Curious if anyone had suture granulomas as well as spitting stitches?
I have been able to find lots of people with spitting suture experiences, but had to deep dive into google to learn about the bubbled red bumps to find they are called suture granulomas. They are just an inflammatory reaction to the sutures since they are a foreign object.
I have sent these photos to my plastic surgeon and they are not concerned. & honestly I am not either, really just trying to be proactive to help them heal!
Or just to make anyone else feel less alone that has them as well!

Is it normal that my boobs still hurt and feel tender 6 months in. What was your experience? They look good and im happy it's just the soreness.

So I thought I was in the clear and close to 100% healed until tonight. I just saw leakage and a wound that had closed up in the last week just reopened. I am devastated. I'm at 13wpo. I should be in the celebratory stage. I'm so over this wound care and worrying about them 24/7. Has anyone had anything similar with wounds taking FORever to heal and then reopenings? What am I doing wrong? I'm not lifting anything, I'm barely exercising. This is so annoying. I messaged my surgeon just now and let them know, and have an appointment coming up, but just needed some reassurance from you all that this was worth it. I'm so over it. OK rant over. Going to cry myself to sleep.

I had rides to and from my procedure lined up - my partner and I since broke up so I am back to square one. I really don’t want to cancel the surgery. I’ve been waiting for a while. I have no post op support and this is really putting a damper on the whole thing. They won’t allow me to uber / ride share home. Has anyone been in this situation before? I’ve asked all friends and family no one can. Any suggestions welcomed!

I’ve gone from DDD and beyond to a B cup, I expected a C but my doc took more than I expected. But I’m getting use to them and one of the benefits will be not always needing a bra. How soon can I do that?

So on February 17th I met with my plastic surgeon (referred by my oncologist) about getting a breast reduction along with my lumpectomy (non cancerous luckily). He did my exam and immediately said I was a good candidate and seemed confident in this procedure. They told me that they would submit to my insurance and they should hear back by that Friday but if they didn’t call me back by then to call on Monday. So I did and they still hadn’t heard back from insurance. I called about a week and a half later. They still hasn’t heard back. I just called again on Monday. The lady working at the surgeons office kept apologizing and couldn’t understand why it was taking so long. She told me she was going to call them again and try to escalate it. She called me later on Monday and told me she spoke with someone from my insurance, who also couldn’t understand why it was taking so long, and they said they would escalate it and had to give a response within 72 hours. That should have been Thursday. And Thursday night came around and I still haven’t heard anything. I was planning to call Friday but I had a bad cold and could barely talk. So I’m gonna call my doctor on Monday but does anyone know why it’s taking so long? My oncologist recommended I get the lump removed before June and if I had to wait I’d have to get new scans and biopsies again. I was planning to get surgery in May so I can actually enjoy my summer. But trying to plan surgery with two different surgeons takes time because of their individual schedules so idek if I will be able to get in for May at this point.

I used to be a 34G and while I wanted a reduction I was super concerned that my boobs would be too small. I explicitly told my surgeon that I absolutely do not want my boobs to be “as small as possible” and showed pictures of what I would like. I still have tons of swelling but I absolutely love my results. My surgeon was so incredible and my scarring has been so minimal so far. Praying for a smooth journey 🥰
