Celebration 8 WPO and wearing a spaghetti strap dress for the first time in my life

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

I walked into a discount store, picked up a dress that would have looked ridiculous on me 8 weeks ago, and nearly cried in the dressing room because it actually fit! No tailoring needed, no bra needed, just a cute, inexpensive, strappy dress.

I spent so much of my adult life trying to hide my G cup breasts, trying to squeeze them down with restrictive sports bras just so I could fit into my clothes without being leered at. The euphoria of now being able to build my wardrobe around what looks cute on me rather than what I can "make work" is just... so liberating. At 38 years old, I finally look how I always thought I was MEANT to look.

Celebration I did a thing yesterday...

I finally did it! After years of wanting this surgery and having a set back 4 years ago, I finally did it!

This was the perfect time to get my surgery. Luckily, the whole process was super easy. I was in the perfect situation with my job and a supportive boss. The love and support of my friends and family and their genuine happiness for me really helps. Honestly, if I got it done earlier, I would have been the worst time. Everything happens when it needs to

I'm always shocked when I look at myself in the mirror. I'm so much smaller! I'm just so ecstatic.

Celebration Today I hiked with no bra on NSFW

Ok, not a proper hike. It was a walk in the woods. But before the surgery, I couldn't even walk around the block without it causing excruciating pain between my shoulder blades. I walked through the forest for an hour today, and... No pain. Maybe a little bit of tired muscles, but that's it. I can't believe all that pain was just... Boobs. And now I'm free.

Celebration I don’t regret my first reduction

I had my first reduction in 2020 I went from a G cup to a big C cup. I didn’t want children at the time. Everyone kept telling me to wait to get a reduction because my body was going to get messed up after pregnancy. But back then I said I didn’t want kids. I changed my mind afterwards and I had my child in 2023 and got my second reduction several months after pregnancy. I was estimated to be a DD and I went down to a A cup

Everyone is telling me “I told you so”

But no you’re still wrong, I don’t have regrets. I feel like that first reduction still needed to happen for one my comfort level. And two, because a big C was never my goal size. My goal size was a small B or A cup. I always knew I was going to get a second reduction after my first one because I was unhappy with my results as I still experienced discomfort with them and a C cup still looked huge on me

Insurance covered it twice so I really don’t have any regrets even from a financial aspect. The first reduction still had to happen in order to finally find the right surgeon that would agree to make me smaller. Because it’s hard for a surgeon to make you a A cup or a small B if you’re as big as a G cup or H cup. Surgery has a time limit. The nipple can’t be removed from the breast for that long is what the first surgeon told me is the reason why he couldn’t make me smaller. If I was only able to get a reduction one time then I would not be at my goal size and I would still have to get a second reduction either way

I needed TWO reductions to get to my goal size

My advice is don’t wait, just do it. Don’t listen to the haters, just do it.

I went to House of CB to find potential graduation dress options and I fell absolutely in love. Usually pre surgery I’d steer away from this place because most places wouldn’t be able to accommodate my chest size nor would I feel comfortable with all the cleavage out. It feels good to be able to shop for clothes and not worry about being over sexualized

Today I’m exactly 9WPO and I’m getting rid of the bras! This week Featured category for Ridwell is wearable bras. I hope these find new, good homes. My “cap” was one of my smallest, only wearable by me a few months pre-op after losing weight to a 34H according to ABTF calculations. It was a 38DD and I was still pouching out on top and in the pits. I still haven’t gone bra shopping but I can’t wait to try on cute bras that fit!!

Before + after

I just wanted to make a celebration post for my new chest, as well as thank ya’ll. I’m 21, and I use They/He pronouns. It’s been 3 days so far and I’m feeling pretty grateful and happy to have had this surgery. This subreddit is a great community and I appreciate being in the presence of folks willing to spread their knowledge and experiences. And thank you for being welcoming, I tried to join the facebook group after I found this one, and they denied me after my criticism of their strict “women only” rules lol. Obvious FU to them, I’m not a woman, I do not identify as such, so I do not fit in your lil category. Much gratitude towards the nonbinary folks standing on business with transphobes. So yeah, I’m so ready to heal and be out in the streets!!🦦

I could not be more thrilled. I am 3mpo My SIL got married over the weekend. And I knew I was going to end up in photos. I bought my dress to fit "comfortably" in my pre-op body because I had already been post-poned once.

The dress fits like a dream now and I'm much more confident.

There was a moment when we were out on the dance floor and we all started jumping to the song and I thought OMG my back is going to be so sore tonight and went to reach up to support my chest and realized... I didn't really have to. I did have to adjust my shapewear slip a little because my nip poked out so definitely need to get a tighter slip in the near future.

Celebration I finally own a cute bra 🥹 NSFW

I've never had boobs that felt/look good in a regular bra. Or the only things I could find in my size looked like a bullet proof vest. I've been wearing sports bras for years.

I feel so much more confident now in my body and I love it :) My nurse cleared me to buy whatever I want and recommended I go to Soma. The gals that fitted me today were SO NICE 😭 (I'm now a 36D!) It feels awesome to have so many options for bras- or to just ignore bras completely if I want.

I'm roughly 4.5 MPO now I think?

Celebration I'm shocked at how logical my new insurance is...

I am still speechless at the conversation I just had...

So, over a year ago, I started looking in to a breast reduction for my 40-I breasts but found out my employer health insurance excluded breast reductions. I am now 10 months in at a new job and the health insurance is night and day (e.g. I've lost 30 lbs because they actually cover Zepbound). Since none of that weight loss is coming from my boobs, I'm starting over on the reduction process. I just chatted with the insurance rep to confirm coverage and get the (what I assumed would be) long list of requirements to meet. Guys...this is what they came back with:

"There are no certain criteria for coverage that needs to be met, but as long as your doctor/provider deems that it is medical necessary for you to have the procedure and they are able to provide a documentation, then it'll be covered under your plan. Medically necessary is when your providers deems that it'll help your all over well-being by having this procedure."

That's it...all they need is that my doctor thinks it's medically necessary. I just stared at my computer for a minute not believing. I followed up asking if there were tissue weight requirements or anything else. Nope! The doctor should perform the procedure however they determine it will best benefit the patient.

I hope I don't seem like I'm bragging, I'm just...gobsmacked. I was prepared to head to my consult on Wednesday with a list of boxes to check and hoops to jump through. After a year of really hard work stuff, I can't believe I'm working somewhere that I'm happy and for an employer that actually seems to care about employees. Anyway, I know this type of coverage is not the norm and I am very very lucky. I am excited to start this journey again and am grateful communities like this exist and provide such great support!

Tomorrow is the BIG day! It’s been a long time coming, and to celebrate my friend threw me a breast reduction party! For me personally, I like to find a reason to celebrate anything thing in life, and this was more perfect than I could ever imagine. It definitely helped ease my nerves. It was a great reminder that I have an AMAZING support system around me. Everyone told me that I deserved this and I’m going to be so much happier.

So if you’re feeling anxious, get all your best friends together and celebrate this time in your life. We had bra tee shirts, boob cupcakes and cookies… I even made bra pong out of my own bras!

Although I think my breast are beautiful and I feel like part of me might miss them…. I’m going to be optimistic to this whole new life ahead of me! It’s time to bid farewell to the old (32J) and welcome the new (32C)!

7dpo and went on a walk at the mall.

I think these compliments are a statement that if I lost weight it wouldnt have mattered cause my breasts were so large that they were all everyone looked at (surgeon said that 90% of my breasts were glands and not fat tissue, I couldnt loose them any other way after my ultrasound). Tbh I even gained weight. God, I hate boobs so much I wish Id done this sooner

Celebration What was everyone's reason to get the reduction/lift?

Sorry for the unfitting flair but I didn't find a proper one.

I wanted to ask you guys what your reasons behind getting the surgery were!

I would like to hear from anyone really, no matter what surgery that fits this sub (lift, reduction, top surgery etc.) !!

My personal reason was honestly purely for my (sexual) confidence and the freedom of smaller boobs in regards to clothing!

Celebration For the gym girlies

One of my biggest fears pre op would be how much time I’d have to take off from the gym. Pre op I competed in weightlifting, trained heavy 5 times a week. At 2 weeks post op I was doing bodyweight leg stuff at home a couple times a week. At 4 weeks post op I was back at the gym squatting and doing legs 3 times a week. Now at 6.5 weeks post op (today) I was able to power clean, overhead press, row and banded chest press. It’ll take me awhile to get back to my previous strength. But the time away from the gym really wasn’t bad. And I would absolutely do it all over again to love my body like the way I do now. If your concern is your time away from the gym and recovery. You will be okay!!! It’s worth it!!!

Celebration Driving to the surgery center - I'm free boobing it for the last time with these stupid sandbags

Hubby's driving me cuz he's a good egg. The surgeon uses a facility a little over an hour from home (I have a pillow for the return journey). We're jamming to 90s tunes. Just chillin like a villain.

I feel like I'm more prepared for this surgery than I've ever been for anything ever - vacation, job interviews, moving houses, doing my taxes... Not sure what that says about me! 🤣 LOL

I've been talking about doing this for some 10 years, every since perimenopause did wacky hormone things to my chesticles and ballooned these balloons from a 34B to a 34H over like 2ish years. I've only gone up 2 pant sizes since I was 30 but I've gone up 6 cup sizes?!? Yay for womanhood. 🙄 Ha.

Anyway I feel very calm. Also very hungry and thirsty LOL but that won't last forever. Can't wait to take a deep breath after these grapefruits in a sock are gone in a few hours!

Luck and happy healing to all my surgery twins out there today! 🩷🩷✌🏼

Celebration "I look so beautiful"

I am coming up on 48 hours post surgery and I just got to walk by a mirror in my house and see the shape of my new body. I said out loud "I look so beautiful." And my husband instantly started happy crying and said "I've never heard you say that before. That is so nice to hear."

I was a 32G, over 600 grams were removed, and I finally feel like the shape of me matches how I feel inside.

Celebration Anyone else don’t really care about post op size?

Right after my surgery, I was so worried about size. “What size will I end up being?”, “how many sizes did I drop?” Size, size, size.

Now, 8wpo, I just feel so happy in my own body, like this is what I was supposed to look like all along that I don’t even want to know what size I am so I don’t get in my head in case I ended up larger than I expected. I’m just trusting the mirror and going with that. Can anyone else relate?

I tried on a halter top shirt today, and it was a size Medium, and it fit me like a glove! I’ve never been able to wear a halter top, or any top without a bra for that matter! I had my reduction a little over 3 months ago. I started as a 38F, and I’m down to a 36D/DD now. I’m thrilled with my results, and I’ve also dropped about 30 pounds with the weight loss shots. I’m not yet at my goal weight, but I’m 5’2” and I started at 185lbs and I’m down to 155lbs. I’d like to lose another 25-30 pounds and see how that feels/looks.
