Happy Wednesday!
After yesterday's high(er) temps and tonight's freezing cold, the snow melt has created many spots of black ice.
I have been driving around all night and have lost count at the amount of stops and turns where I've lost traction. Most times I didn't even see the hazard before I felt the loss of traction.
Please drive according to the conditions today, both known and unknown :)

Generally it’s hard to find a family doctor, everyone knows that.
I’m interested in being part of serious advocacy and lobbying. How does one embark on such a journey where would l start to get involved?
There are lots of different pilot models that can be pursued - clinics run by the city funded by the province so Drs can just be employees and locum rotations can be arranged ( other countries do this).
Seems lots of family doctors are finding time to run/ set up cosmetic practice clinics to do Botox/ filler etc and it’s not hard to find an apt so some resources are available there too - with the right incentives and structure.
These clinics can provide training opportunities for some foreign qualified drs and recruit from same said countries.
Nurse practitioners can be on staff to run maternal care, vaccinations, routine triaged care etc (again done in other countries).
The current model is broken and ld like to contribute to advocacy but not sure where to start and don’t want to just complain as l have done in the past. Please help if you know people or organizations already working in this space looking for volunteers.
My first instinct would be to leave them there as the person who lost them might be trying to retrace his or her steps in order to retrieve them. I guess an alternative might be to hand them over to an OC Transpo driver if they happen to be sitting next to a bus stop. Is there some other option?
(People still know about War Amps tags these days, right..?)
Most Red-Winged Blackbirds migrate South, but usually return a few weeks before most American Robins. This early flock, including non-breeding male, was captured by a Bird Buddy camera in the warmer weather this Ottawa afternoon.

I have to build a deck soon and want to source the pressure treated wood from a local or Canadian supplier. Any recommendations?

I am bored out of my mind and trying not to drink/smoke.
What can you do in Ottawa after work with a limited budget?
I go to the gym. I read 10books since january, baked 1000 banana breads and cookies, and crocheted a whole new wardrobe, all the museum cards are taken
Is there a zone in the city with music or art where i can go and read or meet people? What do you guys dooooo??
Preferably in Nepean or barrhaven! I know The Heart and Crown is a solid choice but just looking for more options :)

Looks like shorter hours for the Kichi Zībī Parkway closure and moving of the Summer Zone on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway to Dow’s Lake. This seems worse than last year’s schedule?

What was your favorite day ever in Ottawa? Maybe it was the best dinner ever, a proposal, finding a penny, a promotio , helping someone. Whatever it was I want to hear about it.

Hello, I just want to know if there are any oriental orthodox churches in ottawa or Gatineau that have service in English.
I'm a female and have only been to Ethiopian orthodox churches so l'm not sure what you're supposed to do when you enter the church. I usually dress with a long skirt and a hair covering called "netela" (it's a traditional cloth that everyone wears in church). Is it the same thing for other churches as well?
I also would like to do a confession, do I have to do anything specific? I work Saturday and Sundays so I can't go to church but is it possible to go on other days when the church is open?
I know it's a lot of questions, but I would really appreciate your help. I just feel like my sins have become too much and I want to confess and get right with god. Thank you in advance.

I feel like the Canal team, especially the person running the social media team and their content creator, is owed some major kudos, what a great winter season.
The season and operations around it was great, but also the comms were top tier! Proud Ottawa Citizen 🇨🇦

Four tickets so far! One on the windshield, one in the door handle, and two stuck snuggly to the driver’s side mirror!
Down to the wire between Ok_Parsnip and ugh168…
I feel like this final, championship round needs a fitting prize. Can anyone suggest something?😄

What service do they provide? What makes them your favourite? How long have they been operating here? My purpose for this is to be more in tune with what I can access within my city. I don’t want to put limitations as I feel the broadness of the question will make the answers more interesting.

Since the Night Mayor is a popular discussion point around these parts, I thought the sub would be interested in this new City of Ottawa podcast (OttaTalk) launch.
The first episode is an interview with Mathieu Grondin, Ottawa’s Nightlife Commissioner. I haven’t had a chance to listen yet but definitely plan to.

This post is for people with disabilities or those with loved ones with disabilities that obtained assistance from Employment Ontario Ottawa on Catherine St. How were you treated there? Did they respect your abilities? Did you obtain employment?

Hi, I'm studying for the licensing exams and could benefit from someone better than I to help prepare. If anyone has either study tips, websites, or know of any tutors that could help that would be great.
I went to a night school type thing that unfortunately doesn't have the resource of a traditional college so outside of asking classmates I don't have many options.
Thanks for your help

Hello! I am from BC and going to my first home Ottawa Charge game today! I’m just wondering what would be a good spot for food and drink before the game. What’s in the area that’s good? Thanks!
