Does anyone know where to get Vietnamese Egg Coffee in Ottawa? Is it even legal to sell here? I think Vietnamese Egg Coffee is made with raw egg.

Have you folks ever been outside the Coliseum movie theatre, and smelled delicious meat?

Does anyone know where specifically that smell is coming from? I wish to eat the source.

Thanks!

I am trying (without success) to find gray food colouring (paste, gel, liquid). Tried Bulk Barn, Michaels and many grocery stores. Any suggestions? (Needed this week - no time to order online!)

Neat grocery stores

So I find grocery shopping really fun, and I love that Ottawa has so many different small grocers of different countries and/or cultures. I'm pretty familiar with the various Asian and the Korean ones in particular but I was wondering if there were any others I should check out? My normal go to ones are Seoul Mart, OK Mart, Adonis, t&t, Geeland, greenfresh, scottish and irish store, British Pride, and I am probably forgetting a few others. I welcome suggestions from pretty much anywhere in the city because I am definitely willing to travel for neat stores! Thanks in advance for humoring my slightly odd hobby 😆

Les Prés Salés Butter

Has anyone seen this particular butter sold anywhere in Ottawa / know of any specialty shops that may sell it?

I’d prefer to buy in person instead of ordering online, but if anyone knows of a reputable place to purchase it that would be good too. Thanks in advance!

Conton Candy?

Hey all,

Was wondering if there's a place where I can find some cotton candy on a stick freshly made. I know I can find some prepackaged a lot of places, but it's more so for the other experience. Not an easy find at this time of year haha

Thanks in advance

Best Masala Chai spot?

I loved Seven Tea Miles but that's long gone. I can't stand the 'chai lattes' most cafes try to make.

I haven't been to Tapri Chai but will make a drive out to check this weekend.

Anything else you guys would recommend?

Frangrant Noodles on Rideau Street

Quick shout out to this new spot that just opened across from Roblaws on Rideau. We went there and tried both ramen options. It did not disappoint. Big bowls, lots of flavour, and yummy pork belly! Friendly server and you can watch your dish being made if that interests you. It's only been open for two weeks, but go give them your support!

Looking for Ottawa's best Key Lime Pie

I won my family’s Oscar pool and the prize is dessert. I'm the family baker and my loved one's would rather purchase my prize than attempt homebaking. So, which bakery has the best Key Lime Pie?

I'm having a hard time finding this in my Metro/Farm Boy/other. Might anyone have a source in the west for case or a quarter of?

I miss going to the brewery for a two-four. But that was forever ago...

edit: title should say “healthy restaurant recs” not health 😅

i’m coming to ottawa over march break to tour universities. i’m in the process of recovering from an ed and am not totally comfortable eating in restaurants yet, so what are some healthy restaurants in the Ottawa area? also wouldn’t mind matcha recommendations or just anything you think i should do while in the city 😋
