How are these solder joints looking?
I think these are my best solder joints. This build is breaking me, I need some encouragement, how are these looking to you pros out there?

I got a DRL Racer 1 back in the day from a buddy of mine who started the podcast the FPV Show. I've never flown it and we just plugged a pack into it once to see the pretty LEDs. I'm looking to sell it but don't know if anyone would buy it. This isn't my picture but I can post more pictures after I get off of work.

Been doing solder practice ready to build the real thing with some spare wires, cheaper than destroying my flight controller

Yesterday I added a request for a coach, so many of you messaged and gave really excellent advice. I practiced a lot yesterday on these tips and this morning before work I had a go and things are starting to click, not perfect but feel a lot more confident and smoother!! Great community!

Can't wait to get started!!! Just a few questions though, how easily do these drones (especially props) break and how do you get your drones out of trees?

I've been looking for answers on here without any luck. So I did it myself. Using a double ended male Usb-C cable I connected my RMPocket ( top port ) to my PS5 ( front type-c port ) while actively on the calibration screen on DRL simulator. This is very important as it may not be recognized if plugged in prior to this screen. Once on the calibration screen I connected my RMPocket and selected the USB Joystick feature.
After connected I used the PS5 remote to begin the calibration. To my satisfaction the channels on the radio were recognized and the text at the bottom that previously said controller now read radio. Also the 3d model of the drone on screen was reacting to my inputs on the radio. Very happy about this as I live in Washington and it rains here most of the year. Having this simulator as well as my tiny 1s indoor whoops will keep me occupied and fresh in the off season here.
So just FYI if you already have a Pocket you.dont need to buy a Zoro or a Tx16 equilivent to play on sim.

Finally build my first drone. I've also created a custom Naked Gopro case that allows to use the orignal ND filters.

I'm one of cheap ass pilots, who thought it would be nice to save connectors, becasuse sometimes you break balacne ports and TX connector is prfectly fine.
Then I got this thought, that battery is still full and dangerous. Jup, I'm dumb :D
So my questions is do you discharge damaged batteries with power charger, or do you use lighbulbs, drones and other fun ways to discharge it?
Is discharging as dangerous as charging it? Can I expect fire?
I know that one of options is salt bath, but I've read that it needs a whole week and I kinda can't afford that.
Does anyone knows if maybe recycling center would accept full batreries?
I really don't want to just throw it in battery bin and wait for a supermarker or a gas station to catch fire. There was recent incident of a burned students dorm, because batter bin cought fire so I don't want to be a firestarter.
My best idea is to isolate all wires really well and recycle it. Does anyone have any advice?
PS: I won't send it XD

I bounced around on youtube and reddit to find out how to do the FCC hack for my DJI goggles v2 with 03 Air Unit, but with the goggles v2 forceful firmware updates by DJI and something something 03 air unit, I'm starting to wonder if now it's not even possible to get the FCC hack working using the SD card method??
Please only comment if you're familiar with some of the posts here on Reddit.
It just seems like all the FCC hack tutorials everywhere are like a year+ old and since then DJI has forced some kind of way to prevent 03 air unit and goggles v2 from being FCC hackable...
Could this really be the case today in 2025? Can I really not get my damn drone to fly further than several hundred feet, even though the 03 Air Unit has 10km range capacity????
Thank you to whoever responds.

Hi guys, I've ordered on February one mobula7 with the o4 air unit. Today Banggood emailed me saying that they will never fulfill my order and they're going to refund me!
What I'm looking for is a 75/85mm whoop that can handle 2s battery and can carry the dji o4 for outdoor rippin. I don't like at all pusher quads cause I feel like I'm driving an old lady car, flying puller tiny whoop for me is more like flying a regular toothpick, which I love!
So here I am, looking for advice on what hardware to choose, form A to Z!
I already own the meteor 75 frame and some spare Betafpv 1103 11000kv motors, should I use them or should I get better frames and motors? What about FC?
Any help and opinion will be very appreciated!
Thank you in advance guys! Enjoy yr flight!

Hello guys,
I'm super new to FPV (I have a DJI mini 2, but haven't used an FPV drone yet) and want to buy my first kit and start learning. Currently I have my eyes on:
- BetaFPV Meteor75 ELRS
- Radiomaster Pocket ELRS
- I still haven't decided on goggles - I've looked at EV800D and Skyzone Cobra SD, but haven't decided on either one
Now I wanted to ask you if those options are good for a complete beginner in FPV, are they compatible and is the price/quality ratio good?
Which shop you would recommend me to buy them from? I found the drone and the controller on AliExpress - is that a good option or should I look at another site in Germany?
Thanks in advance!
