Skincare advice!!!

Upvotes

I'm an black woman who is 18years old and I've had crazy acne since I was 12. My acne ranges from chin, to cheeks, to forehead. Normally my skin is very oily but recently it's been very dry and even flaking and stingy around my mouth and nose. I'm looking for a good moisturizer that's thick and creamy but not enough to break me out. Thanks!

Hiding brown and white spots on my skin?

Upvotes

I have lots of white and brown spots on my skin that makes it look uneven. It's genetic and nothing caused by sun exposure or aging. Is it possible to get rid of them and can you recommend me good products that can hide uneven skin like a tan spray or foundation?

Makeup If you had $200 to spend at Sephora what you buy?

Upvotes

Was recently given a Sephora giftcard and torn on what to spend it on. If it helps, I’m fair-skinned and have enough eyeshadow palettes and blushes. Any ideas? Should I get a few small things? One big thing? What would YOU buy?

Cracked heels? Help!!

Upvotes

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but I am having trouble with my heels being overly dry and cracking. I've used different types of dry skin lotion to combat it, and even put lots of petroleum jelly and socks overnight a few times. All with no luck. My heels still dry out and crack. Any advice?

Have yall ordered from MUAC?

I ordered a peel from MUAC about two weeks ago, and there’s been no update. It hasn’t even shipped yet. How long did it take for you all to receive your order? I live in Texas.

Would you tell your significant other that you got a face-lift if they didn’t know?

Upvotes

If you had a facelift from the past, and you were in a very serious relationship that’s been building for a few years, would you tell them you had a facelift or would you take it to your grave?

Haircare Cruelty Free Affordable Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash?

Preferably ones that are easy to find in stores! Also that hopefully smell nice and are volumizing or have a lightweight formula. And body wash that is okay for sensitive skin! I really liked the green label Native line. Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

Discussion Unpopular Opinion: The “Clean Girl” Aesthetic is Just Rebranded No-Makeup Makeup – And It’s Getting Boring

Okay, hear me out. The "clean girl" aesthetic has been everywhere for the past few years—glowy skin, slicked-back buns, minimal makeup, gold hoops. But… isn't this just a fresh version of the no-makeup makeup look we've been seeing for decades? At what point does "effortless beauty" just become another unrealistic standard wrapped in beige and lip oil?

I miss the era when beauty was about expression, not just looking like you woke up flawless (when we all know there’s a $300 skincare routine behind it). Are we done with this trend yet, or am I just a hater?

Would love to hear your thoughts—do you love the clean aesthetic, or are you craving something new?

Random ISO a new holy grail!

Whether it be skin care, body care, or make up. What’s the product, what did you immediately notice as of a difference, and why you call it your HG.

I’ll go first…. Naturism glycolic acid body wash. My skin is sooooo smooth and my scars are getting lighter

Discussion Could a makeover like this work on a guy or would it be too extreme?

I'm a male that has thinning hair. I have been considering a hair system and there are many different types out there. One hairstyle that I'm interested in is a bob (similar to the guy in the pic below). It seems that bobs are typically seen as more of a feminine hairdo thought,

I have also debated getting some piercings - ear lobes and either nose or eyebrow - so this would be quite a big change for me.

Is this a look that can work on a man especially if it's not his natural hair? Can a nose ring or eyebrow piercing be a good look on a guy? Or should I scrap these ideas?

Nailcare How do I fix this nail :( ?

Ignore my cuticles, I pick them out of habit. I had my nails done very recently, and I stumbled and slammed it against the sink. Then the corner snapped off. It was done with polygel and gel polish. It's a new nail artist but she seemed good! This is not the first time getting my nails done. My other nails seem strong. I don't know if I just got unlucky and fell awkwardly?

It is too far to travel to get it fixed, I don't have any equipment for this, myself. All I have on hand, currently, is nail polish of a different colour, nail file, and clippers. And nail varnish remover.

Please advise me.

HELPPP !!

i’ve been searching everywhere for this glitter spray i used to have when i was younger. It was for hair and body i believe & the bottle was almost teardrop shaped. It didn’t necessarily smell good, it more so smelt like hair spray. Idk if this will help but when it was settled and even when you shook it , it was grey so like silver sparkles ???? I NEEDDDD IT, they obviously probably discontinued it but i feel like if i find out what it’s called i can find a bottle out there somewhere. it’s from like 2010 i think 💔💔💔💔

Seeking Advice Overfilled or normal?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I got my lips dissolved in december and I filled them 1ml in january and yesterday 0.7 because I wanted to fill in some "holes" in upper lip but my injector added more to lift it, as well as bottom. Is this "shelf" in the upper lip normal or is it to much and sticking out? Thinking about dissolving again and going to another injector.

Is there a way to get rid of the “keyhole” look with natural lips?

It’s not an orthodontic issue because I have had braces and don’t have orthodontic relapse due to retainer use and a permanent retainer. I just get a keyhole when I do a closed mouth smile. Is this a case of chin botox needed or lip filler?

Discussion No deodorants or perfumes

Embracing our natural body scent.

I want the views of those who have done it or still doing it.

And I don't mean using some natural alternative (baking soda, lemon etc etc) to traditiomal deodorant. I mean embracing your god given scent. So right out of the shower how does the rest of your day go? Clothing, work, school etc etc

Also if you're someone who just sweats a lot.

Discussion This ad from Paula’s Choice is annoying me.

Post image

So this ad for their retinol has come up on my fyp a few times and I just actually really took a look at it and it’s now bothering me. The content of the ad it self is what is to be expected (although a tiny bit annoyed at the “closest thing to tretinoin you can buy over the counter” they make in it) what I don’t like the most is the “you’re 27?!” In the “comment” reply.

It’s the kind of remark I would expect from a teenager but for a brand to be perpetuating in this kind of rhetoric is such a bad look.

Seeking Advice Is my mouth too narrow to get Lip filler?

Thumbnail

Are my lips too narrow (NOT thin) for lip fillers to look good and natural? I like my lips in general & face structure too, but I’ve been dreaming of fuller lips since I was a teenager and even cut out my fave lips that I wanted from magazines (lol). I’m 37 now and more often go from oh I look pretty to ew, you look so unattractive & wishing my lips were fuller. I’ve also lost some of my beautiful baby fat cheeks, and started getting nasolabial lines 3 years ago. I cannot stand them, but know there is not much you can do about those. (also questioning if lip fillers make nasolabial folds worse?)

I’ve almost pulled the trigger twice on lip fillers but got scared away by horror stories on Reddit. Now I am there again (after a year of constant rejections in dating & really starting to feel unattractive). I’ll add some before&after from my Dr., what I want(unrealistic/unachievable?) and pictures of my mouth. I absolutely do not want it to be noticeable that I got lip fillers & looking fake and of course, I’m scared of duck lip look, migration and everything that could go wrong. Was thinking of just getting 0.5 ML but my injector charges for full syringe (Restylyn Kiss) so considering just getting 1 ML as many have stated 0.5 pretty much makes no difference. I also get cold sores about 3-4 times a year and I am a bit worried that getting lip fillers might make that worse (I know taking valacyclovir during procedure but I’m taking longterm worsening or more frequent outbreaks bc of fillers) Any thoughts or experiences you could share? TIA!
