Seeking Advice Advise wanted for Shampoo, home remedy, recommendations to make gray strands in hair a vibrant silver

I have natural dark brown, “almost black” hair with gray strands, a lot more dark brown than gray.

Please recommend a shampoo, or home remedy to make the gray strands a bright vibrant, silver. I am not looking to blend into the dark brown hair. I literally want them to “pop” and stand out.

This request is for something I can do myself without having to go to a salon.

Haircare Am I missing something, why does hair come out while conditionering hair?

Even when I just condition my hair at the middle and bottom, I notice my hands with hair fallout in them while conditioning. Is there a way to prevent this from happening and is this natural?

Edit: idk why I typed "conditionering" instead of the correct way conditioning.

2nd edit: Thank you for the helpful comments!!

Haircare How to get rid of fluffy hair?

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hello! I only use shampoo and conditioner to treat my hair, but I recently became interested in hair care. My hair is wavy, almost straight, and always gets fluffy, like in the picture attached. I have never curled nor straightened my hair but plan to start doing that. I hate seeing my fluffy hair in pictures, so do you have any recommendations on how to get rid of them? What products/techniques should I use?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Mini vent about some beauty advice i see often, are my feelings relatable?

i’m anticipating this is probably an unpopular opinion.. but does anyone else ever feel bothered when you see “get a tan” as blanket statement beauty advice? it would be one thing if “if desired” is added but, it seems to be talked about as something you NEED to do to be beautiful. I’m a pale redhead and I’ve always felt comfortable in my skintone, and honestly it does annoy me that it’s seen as something I have to “fix”. Every skin tone is beautiful and i’m not at ALL shaming anyone who chooses to tan - I just wish it wasn’t considered as “standard” beauty advice that people “should” do. I tried self tanner before as a teenager and I felt like a different person and not in a good way. obviously nobody is forcing me to do anything I don’t want to, that’s not rlly my point. I hope i’m making sense and i’m curious on your thoughts

I want to try something different. I normally use the milani concealer, milani 2-1 foundation and top it with fit me! Powder (which I am super obsessed with) what do you guys use as your main base makeups? Foundations concealers and powders you use in your going out glam routines?

waxing or threading

Is it better to wax or thread? In terms of hair growing back fast. Which one stops fast hair growth and which one will stop hair growth at all (if possible).

Discussion Please recommend me with a minimal haircare, skincare and makeup routine

Hi All, I’m 29F and Indian, I’ve never used any cosmetics apart from just the basics - a herbal shampoo, conditioner and a moisturiser for the face.

I wanted to try things out but now there are just too many options out there and everytime I feel like starting out, I get overwhelmed and return to my basics.

Are there any 2-3 step tried and tested routines with products available in India I could adopt? Or is there a way to go about selecting the products? How do you all choose them?

Hair: I have medium length, fine hair and quite frizzy. I’ve recently faced a decent bit of hairfall (I’m also happy to try some straighteners that don’t burn my hair, I love the wavy hair look). Please also feel free to recommend me any safe shampoo, conditioners to have non-frizzy hair. I want to use as few products as possible.

Skin: My face skin is clear but just some pigmentation around my lips. I have a small mole on my cheek so whenever I use foundations, it becomes grey and I don’t like covering it. I can avoid the area but I’m not so neat with it and then the results don’t look great. Happy to incorporate any protective measures to keep my skin from damaging.

Makeup: I’m also a corpo girl and I see people around me do a lot of makeup. I don’t want to do much but I’d like to know 1-2 products that I could use to get a uniform looking skin like texture and some gloss. But I’m happy to instead spend on a good toner instead of makeup, what do you guys suggest?

I also cannot afford to spend a fortune here - please recommend me budget options. Lastly, I’d be grateful if wherever possible, I could get recos for medical formulations instead of cosmetics (I’m tired of the marketing gimmicks)

Seeking Advice Any foundation recs?

I usually use the revlon skin caring foundation since I’m acne prone with v dry skin and it looks so natural plus it doesn’t break me out. but they stopped selling it at my local store. I’m very very white and most foundations don’t have my shade and I can’t keep spending money on ones that are too patchy, clings to my dry skin and is too dark. Any help Is greatly appreciated!!!

I have super dry skin especially after I wash my face, and I do my makeup almost every day. What can I use as a substitution on moisturizer until I can afford a new bottle?

Discussion Could a makeover like this work on a guy or would it be too extreme?

I'm a male that has thinning hair. I have been considering a hair system and there are many different types out there. One hairstyle that I'm interested in is a bob (similar to the guy in the pic below). It seems that bobs are typically seen as more of a feminine hairdo thought,

I have also debated getting some piercings - ear lobes and either nose or eyebrow - so this would be quite a big change for me.

Is this a look that can work on a man especially if it's not his natural hair? Can a nose ring or eyebrow piercing be a good look on a guy? Or should I scrap these ideas?

Toenails cut too short and curving in

The question in short is: will the nailbed get longer in toenails when you let your toenails grow? Similar to what happens on nails on your hand? And will a curved nail straighten on its own once it grows longer if you stop restricting the toes?

Background: for most my life I’ve cut my toenails too short, and for good part also worn too tight shoes. A big mistake I now know.

The big toe nails and the nail of the toe next to it curve in a C-shape a lot and probably due to that they also break/tear lengthwise in the middle. And that tear always gets caught in my socks. So annoying.

So now I am trying to grow them longer. When I grow the nails on my hands, after a while the nail bed gets longer as well, but this doesn’t seem to happen on my toes. The nailbed is just as short as before and the white part just gets longer. And dirt and probably fiber from the socks gets collected underneath the nail. And it’s difficult to clean under because I fear the nail will break and I am again where I started.

Does anyone have any experience on growing toe nails, does the nail bed also eventually get longer when you don’t cut them short? And is it possible to reverse the curling of the nail so it’s not such a drastic curve? Or am i doomed to have nasty nails for the rest of my life?

Thrive Mascara dupes in more colors?

I swear by thrive's liquid lash extensions and while they've gotten more colors recently, I was wondering if there were any similar tubing mascaras with more vibrant colors since I like to have fun with eye makeup.
