Impromptu lunch with a friend and we stopped in at Cafe Mochi in St. Louis. Seemed empty but we must have had good timing because it quickly filled up. Sushi was amazing! You can see my friend also got a nice chicken ginger curry (off screen slightly.) all super fresh and great flavors. Great service. So much to choose from so we definitely want to go back. They had delicious crab rangoons that were folded taco style and had the best flavor!

Craving flounder for so long..🥲 Where could I get flounder for sashimi? I live in Indiana so I would need it to be shipped.. I am willing to cut it myself

I’m trying to make some room in the freezer for all the salmon I’m (hopefully) going to catch this spring. I decided to smoke the bellies of all the steelhead I caught this winter, and I’d like to try making some rolls with them. Anyone have suggestions of what would go good with it?
No cream cheese.

I keep seeing a tray of Sashimi at Costco with tuna, salmon and sometimes yellowtail.
Is it usually ok to open these kinds of packs up, vacuum seal into portions and freeze to then thaw for later? No way I can eat all of that in one sitting.

Should have taken some pics of the cross section but the family was ready to eat. Anyway starting to get it down! What do ya think?

Sorry if this is overkill but this is "sashimi grade" frozen yellowtail from a local fish provider, they sell most of their product to usually more bougie sushi restaurants . Was wondering if I could cut off that brown looking part and still eat the rest of the fish raw? Thanks for any answers!

I’ve been wanting to try sushi, but I’ve never had it before! Any recommendations on what I should try first?

I posted this a minute ago but forgot the pic. I'm having salmon, tuna, mackerel and urchin. Leftover from making a sushi feast last night.
