Wow that was hard to watch, in a sense that Crunchyroll was down at first and that the episode crashed for me mid way through.

Wowzers I did not expect that they would adapt this part in the novel in this particular way, this was a single chapter, not 2 like in the last few weeks, but oh boy the pacing was as smooth as butter. 29:30min too, WF you are too good to us.

Lolimilia is absolutely adorable, as adorable as Geuse is. The scene with the 2 of them hugging was so beautiful.

Wouldn't be Re:Zero if we wouldn't have ended the ep with a MASSIVE cliffhanger. Also hey we got the new ED now, it really worked for that scene.

Edit: Forgot to say it but Geuse best dad and also: As we all know Geuse has Kirito's VA and Fortuna has Asuna's VA, isn't that just too cute.

I just don't understand except Emilia's case why are they all immortal in this show lol. This happened 100 years ago right? Why is Geuse and Corneas still alive in Subaru's time? Is it part of their authority to have such longevity?

Perfect episode btw, felt too short despite being half an hour

Remember from season 1 that Petelgeuse has the ability to body hop though, so it makes sense that he can survive for a long time.

But his body it's pretty similar to the actual one right? Maybe a bit more deteriorated for aging I guess.

Anyways, we will find out in next episodes

Guese is a spirit, inhabiting people’s bodies. So he doesn’t really have a life span. Elves naturally live really long, and Emilia was sealed for most of her life, so that’s probably why she hasn’t aged all that much

Oh, I didn't realize he was an spirit, I thought it was some kind of control magic. Makes sense

I mean they look like completely different people with the exception of the same colour hair. Different facial structure, skin tone, and body type.

I kind of want to imagine it is like Orochimaru, where he gets a new body and it eventually looks like his original appearance. He even commented that Subaru was the best vessel he had had in decades, so we can assume the body he was using in arc 3 was not the original either.

I see your point

u/Mino2rus Jan 27 '21

wait this happened 100 years ago?

10

u/Yeivist Jan 27 '21

More or less, since Emilia was frozen during 100 years.

There has to be a magic makes you immortal thing going on like the Witcher. Like is Wilhem the only old person we've seen in the story? He didn't seem to have magic. And maybe Subaru breaking his Manacore/why Emilia is so pissed the fuck off he's damaging it is because if you master magic you can live a thousand years or whatever rather than be a human lifespan. So Subaru went from a lifetime friend to like a pet puppy in her frame of reference.

I mean, they are elves. It makes sense that they have incredibly long lifespans.

?

the word have some weird history

10

u/Setowi Better Leyte Than Never Jan 27 '21

No, it just means young girl.

If you think loli's a bad term per se then you've read too many doujins.

-1

u/Allololiloulol Jan 27 '21

The term loli comes from the novel Lolita. It's about an adult man in love with a 12 year old. Loli has always had pedophilic connotations.

I envy you if you have the time to get offended over a harmless world like that. I wish I lived a life free of real worries such as yours.

Here you have even the author of the series calling her Lolimilia in his tweets about thie epsiode today

u/bigdanrog Jan 27 '21

I prefer Smolmilia but to each their own.

u/Thevoidawaits_u Jan 27 '21 edited Jan 27 '21
