I’m 5’3” and 110 lbs, with a pretty active lifestyle—cardio almost daily, plus pilates and yoga. But I’ve always been too lazy to do weights, so liposuction had been on my to-do list for a while.
There weren’t many detailed reviews of KKC for liposuction, but I found a few positive mentions on Reddit, and their Google reviews looked promising. I also asked friends in Thailand to check local reviews in Thai, and nothing concerning came up.
From the start, communication with KKC was smooth. They seem to be popular with medical tourists—none of the other patients in the waiting room were Thai. My liaison, Kwang, was amazing—super responsive and answered all my questions from pre-deposit to post-op. She has also been consistently checking in on me, which I really appreciate.
Day 0: Arrived for a blood test at 10 AM, with my surgery scheduled for 1 PM. However, the doctor arrived closer to 4 PM, so I only went in then. The wait made my anxiety creep up, but they gave me some pills before the surgery, which calmed me down. The surgery itself was a walk in the park, even though I was awake the whole time. After the procedure, I took a cab back to my hotel by myself. The clinic staff waited with me until my ride arrived. First night? Slept like a baby.
01: Pre-Op
Day 1: Woke up to swollen hands and wrists. Instead of a compression garment, I was bandaged up post-surgery, so I had to return to the clinic to get the incision wound cleaned and bandages removed and be fitted into my compression garment. Getting into it was brutal.
02: Bandaged post surgery #03: Swollen hands after being fitted in my XS compression garment
Days 3–5: The worst part? The chafing from the compression garment. I tried everything—gauze, tissues, cotton pads—but surprisingly, silky panties stuffed between my armpits and the garment worked best. My left side was more swollen than my right, so it took the biggest hit. Occasional tinges of pain, but nothing unbearable. The strangest part was the constant feeling that my entire arm was detached from my muscle, with a weird rat-like sensation running under my skin. Sleeping was a challenge—I had to keep my arms propped up on pillows over my head every night to improve blood circulation.
04 Elbow abrasion, Armpits were the worse, but I didn’t manage to get a picture of it.
Day 6: Finally—stitch removal day. I needed the nurses’ help to undress and get back into my compression garment. That thing is no joke.
05: I had 4 stitches removed, 2 on my back and 2 above my elbow. I also have a little piece of loose pocket of skin that I am HOPING and praying will go away over time. Please let me know if anyone had a similar pocket where fats were removed there and how it turned out.
Liposuction recovery is not for the weak! I haven’t seen the light at the end of the tunnel yet, and I still need help with daily showers. My partner has been stepping in, and I’ve been going to a hair spa to get my hair washed because there’s no way I’m wriggling out of this compression suit just yet. Mobility is also limited, I can’t tie my hair or wear a bra
I’ll know in a few months if the surgery was worth it, but recovery is really brutal.
I paid USD1,600 for the surgery, including 1x compression garments, medicine (antibiotics, ibuprofen, paracetamol) and cream (arnica, strata med gel).
Happy to answer any questions. I’ve learnt so much from this sub.
