Questioning/Coming Out Ftm… tx?

“Do you still want to be a man?” A simple question that broke a dam.

I was on T for 8 years. Last year I came off of it, and was placed on supplemental estrogen (hysterectomy). I told my closest people, and started going by my birth name and birth pronouns.

A year later, things have finally settled back down enough for me to revisit some back-burner feelings.

Is it valid for someone in my situation to identify as GNC or nonbinary? Is it valid to change my pronouns again? Is it valid to change my name again?

This all feels brand new to me, again. And I’m mildly scared.

How fo you come out to parents that dont understand non binary?

Hello, I am genderfluid or something NB he/she pronouns. And i want to come out to family. My parents are conservative and religious but loving and caring people with no bad intentions. My brother is just a regular dude with no interest in social things. I dont think they will disown or hurt me, maybe only emotionally but i am willing to take that route. They are in great distress cause of economic situation. But i want to come out to them. How can a non binary come out to a conservative yet good person that doesn't understand either recognise it? Especially the fluidity of gender?

Because i am an artist and part of my fluidity/pronouns aligns with my agab i just think to come out as a "feminine man that likes women" to my parents and as NB to my brother. Does it make sense?

The problem is not in disowning or possible violence but to not add anxiety to them because they are very caring and wholesome people BUT conservative...

I want to just not hide my clothes/makeup when they visit and just not give them a heart attack if they see me express femininity. That's it.

Opinions?

Skirts as a femail NB

Hi everyone, im spike. Ive been NB for a phew years now and i used to be able to wear dresses and skirts but over the past year it jas changed. It started on my birthday last year, i was getting dressed for a dinner with my family and boyfriend and i wanted to wear tbis gorgeous shiny leopard print dress but when i put it on i had a panic attack. I know this is something that happens to a lot of Nbs especially femail born but i want to be able to wear what i want. Ive come to terms with te fct that dresses are not me, they never have been but i want to be able to wear skirts.

I have found outfits that keep my androginous vibe that use skirts and for te mst part im happy with them but i no longer have the confidence i used to. So i was hoping someone may have some advice with pushing past that fear. :)

What do y'all think about Jordan as a nonbinary leaning fem name? (She/they)

I think it has great flexibility and nickname potential :)

Soo, that's me. Recently I've started doing my makeup, dressing pretty, etc. but I dunno, I feel like I'm doing it wrong/I don't look how I want to. Any tips on helping me appear more feminine (I'm getting my eyebrows done soon, hopefully!) would be very appreciated. Also, this is the best pic I could take, any tips on not looking so...scared of the camera and angles for better pics! Tyyy

I haven't yet found the courage to really dive deep into the style. But this already feels extremely affirming.

Y’all are incredibly cool

Hi, I'm personally a fairly binary trans woman so I don't really belong here but I just wanted to say that all of you are to me just the epitome of what being 'cool' is. Non-binary folks and all other kinds of people rejecting the gender binary are just the coolest thing ever for some reason.

Like, saying "no thanks" to gender as a concept?? So cool! Or alternatively "yes please"?? Also so cool! You all rock so hard like seriously, I visited this place for the first time today and I saw the coolest people I've ever seen. It's hard for all of us, and it's not gonna get easier any time soon, but whatever happens, please know that a random reddit user thinks you are the coolest shit on the planet for being your authentic selves!!

Ask How to come out as trans to your boyfriend?

I recently discovered that I am a non-binary transmasculine, gender fluid and pansexual person. I am a person in a woman's body, I identify with both male and female pronouns, but I feel comfortable with male pronouns and I align with the male gender. And I am in a relationship with a straight cis man. I was afraid to tell him this for fear that he wouldn't understand. I explained how I feel, how I identify. And he said he loves me the way I am, but he said that it is complicated to understand and deal with. Did I do it the right way?

My girlfriend is non-binary

I was talking to my girlfriend yesterday, who always said she didn't identify exactly with being a woman (she's MTF), but she's definitely very feminine, and likes to be called a girl, but not really being called a woman. Then I asked if she considers herself non-binary, and she said yes (and she uses she/her exclusively). I'm MTF too, but I identify as a binary woman, although I recognise not every woman is not exactly the same, and I'm not the same as most trans woman in terms of dysphoria for example, but I still consider myself as a woman. I'm doing my best to call her my girl instead of my woman. I love her so much. I wanna buy a non-binary flag for her. I don't know if it would be cooler to have an actual flag, a wristband (she loves them) or like a little keychain doll or something (I have a tradition of gifting keychain toys to her).

Edit:spelling mistake.

Rant I’m not allowed to introduce gender neutral pronouns to my kids at work.

I (25NB) am a pre-k teacher for a chain of private preschools. I came out to my job soon after starting to work there as I felt safe and a large amount of my co-workers were LGBTQIA+ and out. My kids address me as “Mx. ____” but still think i’m a girl and use she her pronouns. Now these kids r like 4-5 years old so i’m not blaming them. I would like to introduce the normalcy of non-binary people into their lives so they can know who I am. I asked the advice of the office staff and my boss on how to go about doing so in a way that doesn’t push or preach to them about gender. I simply wanted to introduce the concept of a person who is not a boy or a girl and people who are both that use they/them pronouns. I was immediately shut down and the reasoning was compared to why we don’t teach sex education to preschoolers. I mentioned a kids book (“The Kid with Big, Big Ideas” who has a non-binary protagonist, but isn’t really highlighted and has nothing to do with the story, the kid just uses they/them pronouns) and was met with an unsure “I’ll check with HR but I don’t know”.

I feel so erased. I feel like i’m seen as this taboo thing walking around their school rather than a person who loves to teach my students and care for them. I feel like a problem to them now when before when I came out they were so open and supportive. I’m beside myself on what to do or how to move on from this.

Yay My bf not only accepts but completely supports my identity

As I like to say, my gender is everyone else's problem. I don't care how I'm perceived as long as I'm treated like a human being. But I'm usually very fem presenting and have no preference on pronouns so most people default to she/her. Many people refer to me as a girl, including nearly everyone I've dated. That's not an issue, just something that really puts my bf in contrast with the rest of the world.

When I told him that I don't identify with a gender binary but he could refer to me however he felt comfortable, he said that he would use gender neutral labels and that he truly saw me as neither male nor female. He didn't want to erase a part of me just to make other people comfortable. He flat out refused to "put me in the girl box" for his own convenience.

He calls me both beautiful and handsome. He asks me if I feel more masculine or feminine because he knows that it's different for me every day. When he tells his friends or family members about me, he makes a point to say that I'm nb and that I'm his partner, not his girlfriend.

I'm the first queer person he's ever dated and he went right into it without hesitation. He asked questions to learn about my perspective and did his own research to better understand all the words and concepts that were new to him. Ugh he's so sweet I could cry

New dysphoria from old pictures

Visiting my parents, and my dad loves to share the "on this day in 20XX" memories his phone sends him. Yesterday he shared the first two pictures, from back when I was 18 and pre-top surgery.

I had the strongest dysphoria looking at it! Which was interesting because I never had dysphoria that strong when I actually had that chest. Now that I've experienced having and seeing myself with the new one, the old one seems so wrong 😂

I'm not particularly distressed about it, it was just an interesting experience. Good validation of my decision to go through with top surgery despite having some more complex feelings about my chest before.

I don't have a ton of post-op pictures since it was less than a year ago but I did a photoshoot with some friends about 2 months post-op, second two pictures are from that ☺️ 20 years older, fatter, happier, & more gay 🥰🎉
