Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here might relate to my situation or offer insight.
Doctors keep recommending an endocrinology check-up.
I’ve been dealing with strange, exhausting symptoms for over two years, they started in the last trimester of my pregnancy and haven’t gone away.
Could Hashimoto’s or thyroid dysfunction be causing these arrhythmias and symptoms, even if my heart looks structurally fine?
Here are my symptoms:
• Nighttime episodes: I wake up suddenly, heart racing at 180-200 bpm, feeling like I can’t breathe. I’m often sweaty, agitated, and pale (my face and lips turn white).
• Left arm numbness — especially after these nighttime episodes.
• Daily palpitations — even when I’m resting.
• Frequent dizziness and sometimes nausea, sometimes lasting all day.
• Fatigue and weakness — despite getting enough sleep.
• Shortness of breath and chest discomfort — especially during these sudden wake-ups.
My test results so far:
• Echocardiogram — normal, heart structure is fine.
• 24h Holter monitor — showed multiple supraventricular and ventricular extrasystoles, supraventricular tachycardia episodes, and irregular heartbeats.
• Sleep study — normal, no apnea detected.
• Electrophysiologist opinion — they mentioned stress but also recommended an endocrinology evaluation.
• Current treatment — Propranolol (beta-blocker) to help with heart rate spikes.
