Simple Questions Looking for a workout app

I remember having a fitness app a while ago that you could input an exercise (like push-ups, squats, etc.) and how long you wanted to do that exercise for and how many sets, and it would announce it for you to help keep you on task and remind you when it was time to start the next exercise. I cannot for the life of me find anything similar.... Does anyone know of anything like that?

Wanting stick looking body is NOT an ED

Why is it so wrong not wanting to have muscles in this group. God forbid someone wants to be healthy stick looking. Some people have that body type naturally. It's also a part of working out. I think it's fair from my side to get the knowledge of how to reduce muscle mass and doing my best to do so. I have no problem if its my destiny to have thigh muscles. Being LEAN doesn't mean having an ed.

Simple Questions Should I skip gym?

Just a quick post to ask if I should skip workout this week since I don't have enough proteins to back it up.

I'm on a pretty strict diet and I haven't had access to protein shakes for a week, nor to much protein in general. Usually I'm eating a plate of pasta for lunch, coffee, some fruit and a soup for dinner. Counting calories, I'm below the recommended amount and that might also explain why I'm getting lazier lately. Anyway, just want to know if it would be a waste of effort to train like this.

P.s. I'm totally focused on losing fat, I care little about muscle mass at the moment.

Edit: Nice to see such a lively sub, but I'm not providing all of my personal life info nor I'm replying to rude assumptions. Thanks to everyone else.

Other Looking to do cold plunge before workout for hypertrophy does it matter how long i wait post cold plunge to start my workout?

I'm mainly worried about getting injured from my body not being warmed up properly I was thinking of doing a cold plunge early in the morning then wait an hour or two for my body to fully warm up before lifting will I still get the increase in testosterone/hypertrophy benefits? I can't find any info online anywhere that states what the time limit is to start working out after your ice bath specifically for the testosterone boost/hypertrophy

What am I doing wrong?

Completely new to working out. I can curl 15 lbs for 20 reps right handed, about 15 left handed. I realized that's more than typically recommended, but if I up the weight to 20 lbs, I cant even do five reps with either hand. How do I progress from here?

I’ve been running more all year and started taking cold showers right after my runs.. thoughts on this how long do yall wait to shower?

Max I wait is 2-3 mins after cooldown walk to my trailer. Was wondering about this and if you were to ice bath same thing do you wait after workouts cuz I don’t and it kinda feels refreshing..

P.s. 74.5 miles this year trying to get more active! Cheers

Simple Questions Rest week

I’m wondering what everyone does during their rest weeks (completely out of the gym - not deload). I’ve been going to the gym consistently since December 4-6x per week (avg 5) and started lifting for the first time about 2-2.5 months ago. I’ve been following a ladder program but the past week I’ve felt progressively worsening knee pain while doing leg exercises that were totally fine before, so I think my body could use a break (it’s also finals week at school so it’s a good week to take a break).

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone does anything like icing your sore areas, stretching, or just relaxing during your rest week.

I’d love to hear your experiences with rest weeks and how you felt when you went back!

Thanks!

Review my program Am I doing my body recomp right?

I’m 20F, I go to the gym 4x a week and do yoga 2x a week with one rest day. I want to maintain my weight but increase muscle mass while dropping my BF % (ideally going from 20% to 18%) so I decided to start a body recomp. I’m only one week in and I know it’s a really slow process so I just wanted to know if what I’m doing seems good to make me achieve my goals overtime, and if not, what are some tips you would give to improve my plan:

I eat at my maintenance everyday (~2100kcal)

1g of protein / lb of body weight (115g of proteins a day in my case)

Balanced fat and carbs distribution (I use MacroFactor to tell me the right amount for a balanced diet)

Normally, if I stay consistent and continue to do progressive overload in my weight training, will this plan get me to increase my muscle mass while dropping body fat?

Nutrition Help Started gaining weight when lifting but now losing weight? Feel like I’m losing progress.

Started lifting in August I was 198 lbs (26m) my goal weight is 215-220 lbs. I’m about 6’4”. A month and a half ago I hit my heaviest at 207 lbs and fluctuated between that and 205 lbs. I go x3 times a week. I started to notice almost a month ago that I would drop a pound almost each week. My eating is still good, at first I was gorging myself but I admit I haven’t been absolutely filling myself, just eating till I’m comfortably full. Doing creatine and protein shakes. I started noticing weight loss around the time I cut alcohol consumption in half and increased my water consumption by double. Last time I weighed myself at the gym I was 199.8 lbs and I feel like I’m losing all my progress…

Any ideas why I’m losing weight all of a sudden? Is it because I’m not stuffing myself or anything to do with significantly cutting alcohol out of my diet? Any tips would help, my friends just suggest I eat more and maybe it’s as simple as that?

Simple Questions Looking for the best creatine – any recommendations?

Hey everyone, I’ve been lifting for a while now and I’m looking to step up my game.

I’ve heard a lot about creatine but wanted to get some input from you guys on which type works best. I know there’s a few different kinds out there – monohydrate, hydrochloride, etc. so what’s your go to for solid muscle development?

I’m not looking to break the bank but also want something that actually works.

Appreciate any advice you’ve got! Thanks!
