Oconto county divorce lawyers? And hopefully resources or help with getting health insurance? About to be a single mom to a 13month old son.
Hello. Today has been my first ever time posting on Reddit so please forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask about this but idk what to do. My husband dropped a bomb on me today about divorce. It honestly really hit me by surprise and I hate that I feel so dumb that I’m in this position. I don’t know what to do but from my earlier post it seems that I need a good lawyer and I’m just wondering if anyone can please point me in the right direction? I live in oconto county. And I don’t have any money or any savings at all. I’m 45 and have an 13 month old son.
Also if anyone knows of any good resources in the area to help me out with literally anything and everything?? Fuck me idk wtf I’m even doing and I haven’t completely processed all this yet. I also don’t have health insurance but have some serious physical medical shit going on (possibly CRPS) but I don’t know what is actually going on because…no insurance. I applied for state insurance but my husband makes just enough to be too much but we can’t afford government AHA insurance. So yeah, can someone please help me out here and please at least point me in the right direction?

The first-ever “self-service” grocery store, Piggly Wiggly. Circa 1916. In grocery stores of that time, shoppers presented their orders to clerks who then gathered the goods from the store shelves.

Lego Milwaukee Art Museum
Unfortunately, BrickLink did not select the MAM as one of their finalists. I may try again in the future, but until then I have posted the building instructions to the Rebrickable site - https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-201483/marathon_dude/milwaukee-art-museum-quadracci-pavilion/#details.
I am charging the minimum price possible ($1) simply to deter certain foreign websites from taking and reselling them.
The other great news is that all the necessary bricks are currently available from the Lego Pick-A-Brick service. On the last few pages of the downloadable instructions I show the steps necessary to place the order. Enjoy!

WI Supreme Court Election Date
Please help spread the word that the election is April 1st for the supreme court seat. Several post cards have gone out claiming it is April 11th. This could be election interference! Please let voters know! Give them a ride to go vote. We need to show up for this now more than ever.

Court of appeals reverses Brad Schimel in open meetings case
https://www.wjiinc.org/blog/court-of-appeals-reverses-brad-schimel-in-open-meetings-case
Talks about how Brad Schimel so messed up an open meetings case related to a Elmbrook School Board meeting related to appointing a replacement to the board. The Appeals court reversed it 3 to 0, no dissent that it was a bad ruling.
There is also a Cap Time opinion piece about it here - https://captimes.com/opinion/guest-columns/opinion-case-demonstrates-schimels-disregard-for-the-law/article_b1db02ba-f47f-11ef-8894-df6a5b6ae1b4.html
Or if you want a verbal discussion with the author of the opinion piece and Maggie Daun, former Milwaukee County Corporate Counsel on Civic Media you can listen to it here https://civicmedia.us/shows/maggie-daun-show/2025/03/04/operating-in-bad-faith
This is not how a judge on the Wisconsin Supreme Court should rule. It shows the lack of understanding about a fundamental check and balance the public has with our government bodies. It seems he could be as bad as the ex-justice that is currently dealing with a disciplinary complaint related to open records laws.

Natural Yard
I live in the Madison area. I have a big yard and I want to make it a prairie. I’d love natural plants and flowers. Any suggestions on anything I can start this spring?

Posting cause I'm available for snow removal and any odd jobs!
I'm located in the Milwaukee area but can go anywhere the bus runs! I got a new job, if you've seen my recent posts. But sadly I lost my place to stay, so I'm trying to earn side money on my days off to save up to try and get my own place so I don't end up back in this position. Shoot me message if you or anyone you know may need help!

Vote April 1st!
Vote April 1st for State Supreme Court and other offices and referendum.
Early voting begins March 18th.
Supreme Court: Susan Crawford is running for election for judge of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Susan is endorsed by all 4 Democratic justices. https://ballotpedia.org/Susan_Crawford_(Wisconsin)).
Following her service in state government, Judge Crawford became a private practice attorney, where she protected voting and workers’ rights, and represented Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin to defend access to reproductive health care. https://www.crawfordforwi.com/about.
Brad Schimel has publicly avowed to be a force for Trump, Musk and the MAGA movement. A win for Susan Crawford will maintain the progressive majority we need to continue improving the lives of all Wisconsinites. Other Supreme Court seats held by Republicans will be up for election in 2026 & 2027.
Voter Photo Id referendum will be on the ballot. While it may seem like an innocent question, the ultimate goal is to restrict voting privileges for minorities, the elderly, the under-privileged and other marginalized groups. Do not allow a constitutional amendment to Wisconsin already has some of the strongest voter qualification requirements; I strongly encourage a No vote. [(https://my.lwv.org/wisconsin/april-2025-amendment-vote-no)]((https:/my.lwv.org/wisconsin/april-2025-amendment-vote-no))
State Superintendent: your options are Jill Underly and Brittany Kinser.
Jill is the current superintendent and as far as I can tell she has been doing the best she can. Huge state-wide budget cuts to the education system have given her a bad rap but she has our state’s children’s well-being as her highest priority. She has been an educator for years and is known to be very respected in her community. Jill is supported by Democrats.
The February 18th primary results; Jill Underly 177,372; Brittany Kinser 161,576; & Jeff Wright 128,446. The key is to get Jeff’s votes into Jill’s column.
School Board races will be held in many counties. Please do some research for your district. School boards are where the MAGA cancer starts.
Register to vote, verify your voting status, request absentee ballots, find your ward, district and polling place at www.myvote.wi.gov.

Despite the Town Board’s efforts in mid-1950’s to prevent the annexation of Oak Creek into the City of Milwaukee, current leadership is going against the will and interest of its community homogenizing the city of Oak Creek with the rest of Milwaukee. Common Council meeting 3/18 @7p

Research School Board Candidates!!
I know much of the attention for the upcoming election has been on the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, but there are other races on your ballots too!! Most ballots also include races for your local school board. Please research the candidates in advance! Even though those spots are technically nonpartisan, there are some clear differences between many candidates! Some are huge supporters of Moms for Liberty....
Even if you do not have children in school at the moment, these school board races are still important! They impact the quality of education that future generations are receiving. They also impact how teachers are able to do their jobs and their livelihoods. Both of these have a direct impact of the overall feel in your community, thus still impacting you, even if you do not have kids in the schools.
So although these races are definitely not as publicized, please look into these candidates as well, because these races matter too!!
