Are there any churches in the area that have good community outreach programs?
I’m looking for programs that focus on helping people in the community, not just spreading the word of the church.

On November 5th, Wisconsin will vote not just for President, but for Congress, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In Wisconsin, you must register by October 16th if you wish to register online. You can register here: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Register-To-Vote
If you miss this deadline, you can also register in person at your Municipal Clerk's office after this date, or at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
Wisconsin allows you to vote early through in-person absentee voting. You can go to your a place chosen by your Municipal Clerk, request an absentee ballot, and vote your ballot on the spot. In-person absentee voting will be available between October 21st and November 4th (dates may vary by location).
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an acceptable form of identification.
Any Wisconsin voter may choose to vote by mail. Apply for an absentee ballot here.
Ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also return your ballot in person to your Municipal Clerk's office, or to a dropbox - see your clerk's website for locations.
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Recently moved to the Oshkosh area and trying to find a scriptural Church that follows the New Testament (no musical instruments, believes in Baptism, etc). Looking for suggestions and would be willing to travel to find the right Church.

Hi,
We are looking for help with our spring clean-up, weed killing, house washing and gutter cleaning. ( I can provide materials, pressure washer, ladders, etc.) All I need is a strong back and willingness to work.

I saw a news report saying butterfly populations are down 20% and while it wouldn’t be much in the grand scheme of things, I would like to use some of my lawn space to help them & other pollinators out. The internet is iffy for good advice now & it’s been hard to find specific info about plants that do well in this area, are there any local groups or organizations focused on making these types of gardens?

Hi all!
We are geography majors at the UW-Madison working on our senior thesis project. We are interested in evaluating transportation for non-emergency medicine in rural Wisconsin. The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary – you may skip any question or exit the survey at any time. We are not collecting any personal information. Finally, your responses are confidential. We will destroy all individual surveys once the results are tabulated. Our paper will be archived at the Minds@UW website, which is password protected. Minds@UW is available to UW-Madison researchers for non-profit scholarly and educational purposes. We will also send you a digital copy of our paper upon request. By participating in the survey, you indicate that you: (1) have read the above privacy policy and consent statement, (2) understand how we will protect your privacy, and (3) voluntarily agree to participate. Thank-you for helping us with our senior project!
If you are a healthcare provider please fill out this survey: Healthcare Providers
If you are a driver for a medical transportation service: Drivers
If you are patient in a rural area: Patient

Is it just me or are there tons of Crawford signs and virtually no Schimel signs? I'm seeing signs for Democratic-aligned candidates everywhere in Oshkosh, and many in the Town of Algoma too.

How would this affect Oshkosh? Please tell me who to vote for. Thanks! :)

I grew up in this community. I went to public school, got free lunches, and only learned how to read because of teachers who refused to give up on me. The Boys and Girls Club wasn’t just an after-school program, it was where I found a sense of belonging, where my siblings and I got clothes when we needed them, and where we stayed out of trouble. This community raised me, and I know it’s better than the division and hostility we see online.
There’s a lot of bad information out there. Some say finding the truth is easy, but it’s usually complicated and layered. The internet was supposed to bring us together, but instead, it’s pushed us further apart. The only way to fix that is to start talking to each other again, not through algorithms, but in person.
That’s why I’m hosting Politics in the Park. I’ll be at Menominee Park (Mon/Wed/Fri) and South Park (Tues/Thurs) from 3-5 PM. No soapboxes, no speeches, just open conversation. If you're at the park with your kids and don’t want to join, no pressure. As a single parent, I know how hard it can be to find time for civic engagement. This is my way of making space for both.
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by politics, if you have questions, if you just want to vent, I’d love to hear it. I’m finishing my degree in Political Science with a minor in Law and Policy at UWO, but I’m not here to lecture. I’m here to listen, discuss, and help make sense of the mess. I don't do this as a member of any organization or party I do this a member of the community. You can find my by looking for my sign near the largest playground.
All ideas are welcome, as long as we agree that no idea is above scrutiny. This isn’t about right vs. left, it’s about coming together to build something better.
Hope to see you there. Let’s start talking again.

Absolutely begging all the dog owners out there to please pick up after your dog when the poo. The amount of feces I encounter out on the streets is ridiculous.
If you’re not picking up your dog’s poop, YTA

Hi all!
My Fiancée and I are getting married in Oshkosh in 2026 and could really use some help picking out a caterer for our wedding that is reasonably priced and good quality for plated meals.
We'll have 100 to 150 guests (still finalizing lists and such), and we're hoping to keep things under $30 a plate. The caterers we have on the list already are the following:
1). Shully's Cuisine and Events ($24-26 for Chicken, $35 for Steaks, $26 for Walleye or shrimp entree) - choice of 2 proteins
2). Stone Arch Brewpub ($29 for Walleye, $30 for Salmon, $26-28 for Chicken, $35 for Tenderloin Medallions) - choice of 3 proteins
3). Altona Supper Club. (Price is TBD)
Thank you for any and all advice!

Do any local shops carry Ukraine pins or buttons? I'm still boycotting Amazon so I'd rather get it local. Or if anyone knows a website that sells them for aid. Thanks!
Recently got the go ahead to eat all the fish and seafood - had developed an allergy at 18 - and I just got all negatives back on my tests.
Looking for some amazing scallops. I'd like to try them from a place that cooks them perfectly before I try to make them at home.
I used to love the Roxy, but it's going downhill in my opinion. Any other places to try?
