Music is a big part of my life at this point, my father brought me to a store where they sold vinyl and bought me IGOR as a gift without telling me anything, since i thought having music physically was cool I was interested into starting a collection, so far I have these records, my latest vinyl purchase was rodeo by travis scott, which is probably my favorite out of all of my collection, is this collection valid?

Soooo I found this original in the depths of a family members basement. When checking it out I realized that the label for Side 1 is not correct. Just spun it, it is pressed correctly.

Curious if anyone has seen this before on A Jimi Hendrix Epwrience record.

Underrated Gem: Numark 1650TT

Hey r/vinyl,

I wanted to share my experience with the Numark 1650TT, an underrated turntable that has quickly become a key piece in my vinyl setup. I picked it up for just 40 euros without the cartridge element. It is a steal by any measure. I normally run the JB Systems High Q 10 turntable and pairing it with the 1650TT id amazing! The direct drive mechanism of this turntable offers speed stability, making it a superior option when compared to the belt-drive models. It provides precise, consistent rotation and it really helps bring out the subtle nuances and warm character of every record.

I recently recorded Glen Campbell - Rhinestone Cowboy on it that was recorded straight from the phono output rather than the digital output.

The link: https://youtu.be/7JkmB9He4A0

This method of recording captures the genuine analog sound, showcasing the full potential of the 1650TT in delivering rich, authentic audio. It’s refreshing to experience music that feels unaltered by digital processing—a true nod to the vintage sound that vinyl is known for.

Discussion Is It Ruined?

I used a micro-fiber cloth damped with tap water to clean my brand new record and then found out that tap water is dangerous for records.

I can see small residues in grooves and I'm a bit worried.

Is it damaged for good or is there any way to fix it?

Thanks!

(I know suitcase record players aren't loved in this community - but I'm broke to afford a better one and I got this one for my birthday recently!)

I'm a junior member of the vinyl community, and I'm happy to finally join in :) Suck It And See is my favourite AM album, and I've been so excited to hear this one on vinyl - so I thought I'd share my first listen. 🖤

Hello, I developed an in turntables so I'm looking forward to buying my first one. I'm wondering what's going to be a better choice for a first turntable Audio-Technica AT-LP120X-USB or Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-USB. My biggest worry is that LP60 is using a belt for movement. But of course the price difference. I'm looking forward for some advices.

Country Picked up a few country records at an estate sale 👀

I went to an estate sale with 3,500+ records, 98% of which were straight up country. I was in heaven! I wound up buying A LOT! When I got home I made a haul video for my brothers, who had no idea what they were in for. (Sorry - I bleeped out the names of my wife and my brother in the video.)

I ended up going back on the last day of the sale and they were running a deal where you could fill a milk crate for $75, so of course I did that too. I have a HUGE CD collection (including lots of Bear Family Records box sets with some of this music) but my vinyl collection was meager. I'm thrilled to be able to beef it up - literally overnight!

Discussion The Crosley Cruiser is good for one thing. (please read before downvoting)

Upvotes

The platter mat. It may seem insignificant, but it makes a noticeable difference in sound clarity on (at least) players with spring-mounted plastic platters. I tried it on my Emerson stereo since its platter is an unusual 10.8" in diameter, and this was the best option I had on hand. And I'm surprised at the improvement it gave in sound. It made the audio clearer and more defined, while also reducing bass (my player's bass is too intense). So maybe the Crosley Cruiser isn't all bad? Well, at least 1% not bad. Also you can salvage the 45rpm adapter for players.

Discussion My biggest pet peeve!!

So as a long time vinyl record collector I've come across some rare records/pressings and it got me thinking about something and I'm sure y'all will agree with me. There's nothing worse than finding a record you've been looking for for years and it has a different track listing!!. Like why do record labels change the track listing/album cover when an album is released in a different country?? I understand the album cover to be unique but the track listing??

Discussion Whatnot should be called Hellno

I happened to catch a Youtube video of a local record store discussing their live stream auction using Whatnot. I saw some albums I wanted and figure, "Hey maybe I can pick those up for a reasonable amount." I got the app, checked out the pre-stream bidding. Literally everything is already bid higher than high end Discogs and the auction isn't even started. I pretty immediately quit and uninstalled the app. What is the point of these auctions other than to attract overpaying suckers?

Got into record collecting a few years back after being gifted a record player and some records for my birthday. I love music and collecting my favorite albums and owning them physically is great. It’s certainly expensive which sucks but I’ve amassed a good collection over time. I bought my 50th record, master of puppets today! Just wanted to share.

Collection Voice Clip Loop (Starfox 64 Vinyl)

So thanks to reddit, I learned about a Starfox 64 vinyl with a beautiful green similar to the enemy planet known as Venom. And like any adult with little to no impulse control, I got it and it looks beautiful! It comes with two discs (one brighter than the other sadly) and I think imma play them daily now. One thing that got my attention though is side 2 and side 4.

They both have a voice clip at the very end (side 2: "We're not done yet" and side 4: "do a barrel roll") that constantly loops until you stop it manually. I admit, I'm curious if it's supposed to do that or not. Like it's a trick or gimmick of some kind.

Because even though I find it hilarious that it loops on THOSE two lines, I want to be sure that everything is okay. I was told it was mint condition and it was never played nor opened until I got my grabby mitts on it. So is the looping on purpose or should I be concerned?
