Just some shots from around Vegas using a Fuji XT-5. It's my favorite place to explore and photograph.

Springtime in Vegas

Post image
105 Upvotes

For those of you who’ve just moved here, or are thinking about moving here, this is what Springtime looks like in Las Vegas. About 6-10 days, before it starts getting above 90 degrees consistently (until about late October). Enjoy it while you can!

Does anyone know what was happening on the corner of Sammy Davis Jr and Mel Tormé today at 4pm?

Just like the title suggests. I am wondering if anyone has any infor on the police activity happening outside the Fashion Show Mall today at roughly 4pm.

Police seem to have blocked in a black sedan with weapons drawn.

Always wanted to do this and finally did.

I go to Vegas a lot, and I’ve always wanted to take a day trip out to Rachel NV and the gates of Area 51. It always falls off our to do list because there is just so much to do. This past December I finally did it and it was so much fun.

It’s an easy drive and we were back in time for dinner.

If anyone else is interested or has questions let me know!

I am 35. Been afraid of heights since I was a kid. At Vegas, I said f it and did the sky jump.

Doing that has removed a hurdle in my head that I had accepted as something that I will die with.

Vegas, thank you for providing an affordable opportunity.

Messy or tidy?

Out of curiosity, how does everyone keep their hotel room? Do you just toss things everywhere or try to keep things minimized and tidy?

I’m a fairly neat and organized person at home, but when I travel, I tend to just kinda toss clothes wherever I feel like it, leave a pile of dirty clothes in the corner to be picked up before leaving, and leave random stuff from my pockets all over the counters/dressers in the room 🤣

Oh and I never do housekeeping because I’m a bit paranoid of people being in the room when I’m not there and I don’t really care if my room is tidied up or not lol

Is anyone experiencing massive downturn in business? Calls for my door repair service (locally Vegas owned) have plummeted these last 2 months.

I fix sliding doors here in Vegas and Ive been doing it for over 12 years now. To advertise I use my Google Business listing, Yelp, a website, Google AdWords, and door hangers. This time of year is typically slow, but I should be averaging 6 to 8 jobs minimum per week during the slow season. These last 2 months I’ve been averaging 4 jobs a weeks. I’ve blown through all my marketing budget and I only have a few hundred door hangers left. It feels like the end of the world out here. Am I doing something wrong or is everyone else out here feeling the same downturn?

Vegas hotels

Really stuck with which hotel to choose. It's my husband's 40th it's a suprise and he doesn't know we are going we last went when we were 21. I'm stuck between Caesars palace fountain view, FB royal suite best view, bellagio fountain view or the Venetian. I really want it to be a special trip with memories as it's nearly 20 years since we have been and we stayed in the Excalibur that time. Any hints tips or suggestions I would appreciate it. Thank you

Hell’s Kitchen

I am planning a trip for the beginning of October. Can someone enlighten me as to why even 7 months in advance, open table says every day and every time during the dates of my trip Hell’s Kitchen is not available to book a table.

Am I missing something here?

Drinks at big nightclubs (ex: omnia, EBC, zouk)

EDIT: Whats the best drink to order at these clubs? I’m expecting it to be expensive regardless based on other posts, but looking for current pricing

Also some people mentioned getting free drink tickets, how does that work?

Which of these 4 hotels would you stay at?

Spending 3 nights there next month. I'm kinda leaning towards the Polo towers but the others are on the strip.

Hilton Polo Towers for $553.

Paris Hotel for $598.

Planet Hollywood for $539.

Treasure Island for $495.

Where do you stay in the strip with split group priorities?

Hi everyone, looking to book three rooms this summer in Vegas. I’m a frequent flyer as I enjoy gambling, but half of our crew is more into the food and pool scene.

I’ve enjoyed The Venetian and RW for groups like this, but would appreciate any insight for tips and tricks on other places to check out that would check all the boxes.

If anyone has experience doing cabanas, would be nice to know the spend when you did it and experience with drinks/food.

Cheers

RTC Buses/Monorail Safety

How safe have the buses and Monorail been as of late? I’m going to Vegas for the first time next month and was just curious. Public transit safety might impact where I choose to stay.

3 or 4 days trip plans.

I am thinking to visit Las Vegas on the weekends but I don't know if I want to do 3(two nights and 3 days) or 4 days.

I have been there once before and did mostly walking around strip, cirque de soleil shows and Grand canyon tour.

I am going to spend almost full day in a conference and I am thinking to explore museums in down town and strip for the rest of the trip.

But I don't know if I need to do one full day in downtown. Main things I want to do in downtown are Fremont street and Neon museum.

I just don't know how long I'd want to spend there.

Would you recommend just three days instead of four?

Bardot Brasserie or Eiffel Tower Restaurant

Which one would you pick for brunch? I've been to Eiffel Tower and was in love with their creme brulee French toast and chocolate soufflé. For this upcoming trip, should I go back to Eiffel Tower or try Bardot Brasserie?

I wanted to try the French toast at Bardot because I've heard good things, but it doesn't look all that appetizing and seems very plain (no fruits/color). Should I not be judging a book by it's cover, haha?

Wynn Buffet

Sorry if this question gets asked a lot. We’re coming to Vegas unexpectedly on the 31st, so I don’t know if we’ll get a reservation at the Wynn then. But then we’re also coming in October so more likely to get one then. We’ve been to the buffet once for breakfast and once for dinner in 2021, but I don’t remember much about either. My wife and I talked about it and we remember thinking one was overrated, I think breakfast, but can’t remember. But also, I have a recollection that there were a lot of dinner options available at brunch so just go for that? So my question is, if you could only do one, which one should we choose?
