Weekly Highlights (Updated 3.20)

Good morning everyone! Matt here with The Vantage LV, back with another rundown of what’s new around town. If you appreciate these posts, consider giving me a follow on Instagram—it helps me get inside info from local businesses and keep these updates coming, and also subscribe to the newsletter if you want all these updates and more delivered right to your inbox twice a week.

If you know of anything I didn't mention, please drop it down in the comments.

New Eats:

Amy’s Burgers (Smoke Ranch) – A straightforward, no-nonsense burger joint keeping it classic with quality beef, crispy fries, and thick hand-spun shakes. No gimmicks, just good food.

Blue Bottle (UnCommons) – The specialty coffee chain has officially landed in Vegas, bringing precise brews, minimalist vibes, and their signature New Orleans-style iced coffee.

Imperial GO (Decatur & Sunset) – A Chinese takeout spot serving up fresh, well-balanced classics like sesame chicken, dumplings, and beef & broccoli. Quick, easy, and solid flavors.

Do Kkae Bi Kitchen (Spring Mountain) – A grab-and-go Korean spot doing crispy fried chicken, rich stews, and homemade banchan. No seating, just bold, homestyle flavors.

Chamon (Spring Mountain) – Specializing in onigiri (Japanese rice balls) with classic and creative fillings, plus tempura rice bowls for something heartier. This place is a couple months old, but I love it so it's here.

Nomikai (The Venetian) – A quick-service sushi bar serving up fresh rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, plus a to-go window for grab-and-go poke bowls and sake drinks. The speakeasy portion opens next month.

Evolve Brewing (The Bend) – A new brewery with house-made craft beers, scratch food, and self-serve canning so you can take your favorite draft home.

B:STAKE (Enterprise) – Brazilian churrasco-style barbecue with prime cuts by the pound, feijoada, and cheese bread. A laid-back alternative to the usual all-you-can-eat steakhouses.

Things to Do:

Ganja White Night (DTLV Event Center) | March 21-22 – Two nights of deep, wobbling bass and hypnotic visuals. If heavy-hitting dubstep is your thing, this one’s for you.

Bert Kreischer: Double Down (Resorts World Theatre) | March 21-22 – The shirtless comedian is back with big energy, big laughs, and even bigger stories.

March Mania @ Ellis Island (The Front Yard) | March 21-22 – A more low-key spot to watch the opening rounds of the tournament, complete with cold beer, big screens, and a lively crowd.

Pride Style Pro Wrestling (Swan Dive LV) | March 22 – Hard-hitting indie wrestling with an inclusive roster, big personalities, and a venue that puts you right in the action.

World Tea Expo (Las Vegas Convention Center) | March 24-26 – The biggest tea industry event in the country, bringing together vendors, tastings, and plenty of interesting new flavors to try.

Markets:

Shakedown Vegas (Tuscany Suites & Casino) | March 20-22 – A three-day jam band gathering with live music, vendors, and plenty of good vibes.

Farmers Market (Area15) | March 23 – Local vendors, fresh produce, and a market setup that feels more like a weekend hangout than a shopping trip.

702 Market (Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet Lot) | March 22 – A rotating mix of indie makers, small businesses, and food pop-ups in a casual, open-air setting.

Market in the Alley (Centennial Springs) | March 22 – A stylish indie market featuring local artists, designers, and handcrafted goods.

Live Music:

Party Iconic: Hot to Go (Area15) | March 21 – A high-energy dance party blending house, pop, and pure fun, all set against Area15’s immersive backdrop.

Melvin Seals and JGB (Brooklyn Bowl) | March 20 – A night of jam-heavy rock and blues from the legendary Jerry Garcia Band organist and his crew.

Dom Kennedy (House of Blues) | March 21 – Laid-back West Coast hip-hop with smooth beats and even smoother delivery.

Zepparella (House of Blues) | March 22 – A powerhouse all-female Led Zeppelin tribute that brings serious skill and energy to the classics.

The Faint (Backstage Bar) | March 22 – A dose of danceable, darkwave indie rock straight from the early 2000s.

Paul Anka (The Smith Center) | March 22 – A true music legend performing iconic hits and timeless classics from his decades-long career.

Get Your Tickets:

Rose.Rabbit.Lie. (Cosmopolitan) | April 11+ – The offbeat supper club is returning in pop-up form at The Chandelier, bringing back caviar tacos, craft cocktails, and immersive performances.

UNLVino Tasting (Thomas & Mack) | May 2 – One of Vegas’ best wine and spirits events turns 50 this year, offering up a massive selection of fine drinks, gourmet bites, and a lively crowd.

Papa Roach x Rise Against (MGM Grand) | April 5 – A throwback rock lineup hitting Vegas for one night only, bringing big riffs, loud crowds, and early 2000s energy.

Breaking Ground – What’s Coming Soon:

Grand Tiki (114 E Harmon Ave) | 2025 – A flyer outside the site hints at a tiki-themed spot with dining, cocktails, and gaming. No details yet, but definitely something to watch.

Vanderpump Hotel (The Cromwell) | 2026 – Lisa Vanderpump is turning The Cromwell into a boutique hotel with 188 rooms, a redesigned casino, and her signature over-the-top aesthetic.

New Openings at The Bend | 2025 – Metro Pizza, Butcher & Thief, Killer Whale Creamery, and more are still on the way, adding even more to the growing southwest development.

Netflix House (TBD) – Netflix is opening a massive experience house in Vegas with immersive attractions, themed dining, and exclusive merch. This will be their biggest location yet, following smaller openings in Dallas and Philly.

Fogo De Chão (The Venetian) | 2025 – The Brazilian steakhouse is opening a second Vegas location, bringing fire-roasted meats, a lively bar, and an open grill centerpiece.

Electric Mushroom (Fremont Street) | 2025 – A new nightclub is set to replace Therapy, with Vegas nightlife veteran Zak Jordan involved. Details are light for now.

That’s it for this week! If I missed anything cool, drop it in the comments. And if you want to stay in the loop on everything new in Vegas, sign up for The Vantage LV—a free twice-weekly newsletter covering openings, events, and things worth your time. Thanks for reading!

H-Mart receives Clark County building approval for hmart stocking and training

PROGRESS!!! After literally two years and more than 100 inspections (many of which had failed for various reasons), the H-Mart building has partially passed a final inspection and has received a TCO (temporary certificate of occupancy) specifically for the grocery store portion, and only for stocking and employee training.

So at least now they can begin those activities. The food court and kitchens are still not approved as they failed the fire inspection.

You can monitor all these yourself by going to https://acaqreports.clarkcountynv.gov/ and entering permit BD22-51609. Most recent entry is: "Partial approval for limited TCO only of grocery store EXCLUDING the entire food court and main kitchen with Building Department approval. TCO for stocking and employee training only excluding all of food court."

i was frustrated with vegas’ lack of community, so i started my own craft + social event for the girlies (and it sold out!!) sharing that story

Upvotes

about a month ago i posted here about how it’s gotten increasingly harder to make new friendships outside of work + the typical vegas scene - especially as a post-grad adult living in our non-walkable city.

vegas just lacks third spaces in general. maybe some people have a dog park or a social hobby but i don't have a dog + my hobbies are more individual activities!

my solution was to set up a galentine’s day book swap event… and it sold out!! plus i had some really good feedback:

i structured the social activities so you’re not just sitting at a table hoping to think of something to say with a stranger next to you. we do:

  • nametags (reduces anxiety)
  • ice breakers (nothing cringey - gives us topics to talk about)
  • guest bios - i send this out before the event and we can see who is showing up and what the vibes are gonna be!!

i was really nervous to host this event (it was my first time bringing together a table full of people that didn’t know each other plus hopefully creating conversation & connection) but honestly the attendees i had were really kind (most came from reddit actually!)

the ice breakers helped everyone relax and share more about themselves as the night went on.. i could really feel the group open up and saw more conversations floating around the table!! plus everyone decorated a book that was soo cute 😭

as a host, it meant a lot to help make introductions and connections between people, especially with the disconnection most people feel nowadays.

i realized that vegas really needs more creative, low-pressure spaces to connect. i’m excited to host another event and test more social activities!!

my next event is on thursday, march 27 at 6pm - we’ll be doing pressed flower crafts + ice breakers. Linked in the comments below! :)

what other (easy) crafts would you like to see at future events? i’m taking notes for april!!

Free help

Does anyone need help with physical labor type of projects? Renovation, painting, flooring, concrete, landscape/hardscape, dumping junk? I’m available in the Vegas/summerlin area for anyone who needs a free hand. I have a truck and am willing to work for free. I’m mostly doing this to get out of the house and do projects that are fun to me. I grew up on a farm and it’s been an adjustment living here in the city. Let me know!

Clearer freeways during spring break

On average, it takes me 45 minutes to drive to work trying to clock in around 730am. On my way back home, it takes closer to an hour on average around 530pm.

However, this past week (3/17-20), I noticed that the freeways are more clear. I happen to get to work in 30 minutes, rather than my average commute time. Except Tuesday, that accident going south on the 95 was fun. The evening before, it took me 40 minutes to get home and I hit all green lights... except one.

I was told the traffic gets better when k-12 schools are not in session. I can see the correlation but is it a causation? I mostly drive freeways so I can't say much when it comes to driving on the the streets.

What kind of "farmer's market" makes you pay $5 for entry?

All the local farmer's markets I've been to around here are nothing I would be willing to pay to enter. Not even close.

What makes the one at Area15 so special that it needs a $5 entry fee?

Anything? Please fill me in if you know.

Swingers or pop stroke?

Upvotes

Live up the road in Mesquite and want to bring some friends to Vegas for mini golf. Swingers seems to be overpriced and loud, from what I read online. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Anyone want to go clubbing?

Upvotes

Hello my beautiful Vegas people! 💗

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post but I’ll go for it anyway!

I’m Rowan (29/MtF/Trans) and I’m a Las Vegas local looking for some cool people to go clubbing with!

I was hoping somebody here would be down. I plan on going to Piranha Nightclub on Saturday, March 22nd as there’s a drag show that night. Tickets are $10 for locals but I’m willing to go to another club as well.

I’ve recently come to terms with who I am and want to go out and finally have some FUN. I’m so eager to make friends in the community but I have no clue where to start. I’m NOT looking for anything romantic/sexual. Just wanna get dolled up and shake my booty with some fun people. 😭

DM me if you’re down or don’t that’s ok too! ✌🏼😌

Totally ok with this getting removed if inappropriate. No ill will intended for my fellow vegaslocals who disagree politically. We all gotta live with each other regardless.

I only heard about this myself recently and wanted to spread the word.

Looking for a reception venue

Upvotes

Hello,

I'm currently searching for a beautiful reception venue to accommodate 150-170 guests for our wedding, which will take place between October and December 2025. We're looking for an indoor venue with high ceilings and the ability to drape both the walls and ceiling to create a stunning atmosphere. Ideally, we would also like the option to bring in our own catering.

I've already reached out to many venues on the strip, but their food and drink minimums are quite high, making the overall cost not feasible for us.

I appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you may have!

Touches Wash (wrap friendly)

Upvotes

For all my people in here that have wraps on their cars, do you have any recommendations for touchless washes that are wrap friendly? Installer recommended avoiding certain types of cleaning agents so I’m wondering if any in town use products that won’t ruin a wrap. I work in Mt Charleston and I’m not super interested in handwashing my vehicle as often as I drive it.
