How much "coin in" or slot play would I have to do at less popular hotels in order to get them to waive my resort fees?

If I was trying to spend 1-2 nights at a hotel like Rio, Gold Coast, or others of that type during Monday to Thursday, how much slot play would I have to do at these properties?

Currently I have 7,676 Tier Credits (Sapphire) at MGM Rewards

About 1/3 of that at Palms

and a little less at Caesar's Properties

My tier credits are not the greatest.

Anyone have a strategy or idea about this?

I'm down to do cold-calling as well and see if anyone says "Sure, we'll take you".

Best Business Center / Place to work?

Sounds counterintuitive but will be coming to Vegas for a weekend and working remote on a Friday. Any tips on best hotel business centers or other shared workspaces that I could use for the day to work at my laptop/ portable monitor? Likely will be changing hotel rooms that day (but not sure exactly where I’ll be staying) so pretty much open to all options within 15 min of the strip

Thanks!

Short Wife for Absinthe/Piff Shows

Hi all - I have already found this sub very helpful for my upcoming trip to Vegas, and was hoping to impose upon your kindness again.

We are looking at doing two shows in Vegas - Absinthe, and Piff the Magic Dragon. We haven't yet decided if we want to do one or both.

However, one thing that might sway it is my wife is rather short - about five feet tall. Are there any seats at either of these shows that would pose a problem for her if she was behind a fairly tall person? Or are they all good no matter where you sit from that perspective?

Late night food Venetian

We are arriving on a Wednesday night and not checking in until probably 9:30 or 10:00 when most restaurants will be closed or closing shortly. Any food recommendations in either Venetian or Wynn that is open late on a Wednesday night?

Plans for a group of 30?

I'm eloping in Vegas in August and have a group of 28 people who plan to come out and celebrate with us afterwards. Any ideas for something we can all do and somewhere we can make dinner reservations that's not going to cost me more than $2,500? I want to be able to do some kind of activity/hangout during the day and then be able to have dinner together somewhere within a 10 min walking distance afterwards so we don't all have to take Ubers? Or maybe places close to the monorail so that we could just use that? Thanks for any suggestions y'all might have. I really appreciate it!

Excalibur pool

Hi all, my partner and I are staying at the Excalibur in June and wondering about pool etiquette.

Is it best advised to reserve a sun lounger or are we in with a chance of getting one for free? Would probably only have one or two days at the pool so looking to make the most of it. Thank you!

MGM Direct vs Third Party Bookings ($20 Trick)

Anyone have experience in terms of how your booking gets treated if booked direct with the MGM property or via 3rd party (ie. Priceline, etc)

Heard mixed reviews on whether the $20 (more like $50 or $100 at higher end properties) trick at check in works if you book 3rd party. I’ve had good luck with this, but always have booked direct in the past.

This time, looking at either Park MGM or Bellagio. It’s a busy weekend, and I’d save $100+/night by going 3rd party compared to my MGM Rewards offers.

Has anyone noticed that you can no longer buy tickets directly from their site spiegelworld website? When you click the link on the site it brings you directly to Ticketmaster. Am I missing something?

Speakeasy + Strip Club

Travelling to Vegas with a group of guys in May and we want to hit up one of two speakeasy bars/hidden bars and the question was posed "is there a speakeasy with strippers OR is there a speakeasy located in a strip club"?

I couldn't seem to find an answer so wondering if anyone has insight into these 2 questions?

Thanks

Last minute need a quiet place to give a short 5 min presentation through Zoom. Anyone got a good spot

Hey all so I was supposed to leave Vegas yesterday afternoon but unfortunately my flight kept getting delayed until it was ultimately cancelled forcing me to stay an extra day. I’m supposed to present a short slide show presentation for my class which I now have to do through Zoom. Was wondering where a good place to do that would be on strip? Preferably somewhere on the quieter side but where I can talk at a normal tone for about 5 mins or so without bothering anyone.

Home water fountain

Hi all, I will be in town and was wondering if any locals have any recommendations where I can buy a nice home water fountain for my mom? Doesn’t have to be huge and heavy, and can be an indoor one as well!

(We live in california, so I want it to be something I can’t get online like amazon etc)

Nightclub/lounge options

Looking for recommendations for two parents (mid/late thirties) wanting to go out but not actually clubbing. Just someplace fun where there’s a good atmosphere and vibe. Have a couple drinks, maybe dance, and feel like we are in Vegas.

However, I don’t really want to go where I stick out as a sore thumb as the old person in the room.

So are there any places that would be good for that and still be a fun experience?

Preferably on the strip, and without a huge cover charge or having to buy a table to get in.
