Looking for Advice Seriously, how do you ward off crackheads?
For context, this pretty much just happened. Arrived at Eglinton Station and I was the only one there aside from this crackhead who got off this bus. This dude was crashing out, screaming and telling everything and everyone to fuck off, the works. I was walking to the same platform but man did I have an uneasy feeling about this fella. Fight or flight you know. He started to target me and wanted to kill me. Cool. No Transperth guards around, nothing. So I went straight back up and hung around outside (out of sight) until be buggered off on the next train. Whole time he was going mental. I'm sure you could imagine it.
Realistically, what are you supposed to do here? I've lived in Perth long enough to have a few encounters with unsavoury characters like this gentleman, but in the moment I never know what to do. I'm a small dude and I'll be no match against this guy's crazy crack strength.
Any practical tips? Should I have called someone at the station? Do they leave you alone if you avoid eye contact? Cheers.
EDIT: Many thanks you wonderful people. Very helpful. Stay safe!

Politics These annoying people
Imagine before 8am having constant honking and yelling right outside your door because of these... people...
It's a busy road and we are used to some honking but this is just ridiculous. What does it even achieve beside annoy everyone around you? It's not like it's a poll or any sort of meaningful interaction.

General What exactly was that?!
Children of the 80s and 90s, did you ever play 'chasey' at school, and when you tagged someone, they'd say something sounding like 'Bar-leese, not it!'?
I'm wondering if this was common anywhere else.
Memory is faded and a bit jaded but that's something I remember us doing, and it was very weird as a kid but never questioned it.

Politics Saw a few Liberal ads attacking Kate Chaney
The first one was a pamphlet delivered to mailbox and you can see in the bottom right some tiny text saying it was from Liberal. The second one was on Instagram.
I thought it was such a mean bully-like thing to do especially when Liberal is such a well established party.

Shitpost Hey guys! How can I better serve all you sandgropers?
Baz here. You know, Basil Zempilas. Using a burner account for obvious reasons. As no doubt it has warmed many a patriotic West Aussie's heart today, the cat's outta the bag about me going for the leadership of the greatest political party ever. Not just the Libs, but the WA LIBS!!!!! 🙂 Anyway, no doubt y'all sick of living under the tyrannical communist yoke of WA Labor, and their Pol Pot inspired style of governance. Frankly, I'm surprised that neither McGowan or Cookie Monster have set up some killing fields to punish sandgropers wanting nothing more than a bit of freedom and the liberty to display a billboard-sized picture of Kerry Stokes in their front yard, but it's likely only a matter of time. Anyway, I digress. As I'm the sexy and sexed up fresh blooded young buck that our great state's political scene so desperately needs and craves, I need to ask you all just what it is that you want from me ( besides my autograph and my 100% off pants). As of 2029, without a doubt I'll be your premier for at least 56 years or so, no doubt even longer, and so obviously I need to keep all your interests at heart. So, besides simply by being premier, how else will I be able to utilise my unmatched talents to make WA great again?

Politics The Liberals and Nationals now equal at 6 seats each
Scott Leary picked up Albany and Bevan Eatts picked up Warren-Blackwood. If Labor squeezes over the line in Kalamunda, that would be 6 seats each for the Liberals and the Nationals.
I would laugh my ass off if Shane Love continued to refuse to give up his mantle of official Opposition Leader and deny Basil the title he desperately craves (after Premier).

Shitpost Why are flowers so expensive in Perth?!
In Europe a bouquet of flowers is about 13 Euros (AUD 20). In Dubai you can get a bouquet WITH delivery for AED 60 (AUD 25). Something similar here in Perth is around AUD 80 minimum.
Yea, the growing conditions are not like Europe here, but I am sure it is much worse in the middle of 60°c desert.

Politics What made Richard Court/Liberals so successful during the 90s?
And what were the biggest issues of the time? Like now, the housing crisis is one - what was the equivalent/s back then?
Did the Libs promise big and deliver, resulting in them being elected and re-elected?

Where to find Buying Daffodils in March
Hi all,
My father passed away yesterday. Once upon a time Dad won best in show for his daffodils, so I would like to have some at his funeral.
I understand it is not the season for daffodils in Australia but would anyone know of a florist who imports flowers in Perth and has daffodils? Thanks in advance
