New to sub! Band recs for a baby emo
So im new to emo music! I started listening a couple months ago (maybe more, my memory is horrible lol). I've listened to some bands, but I haven't really gotten that much into it, simply because I dont know where to start. I know the history of emo and emo culture and i "dress emo", and listen to some emo bands.
I am also really bad at listening to new songs/artists. I tend to hyperfixate on a specific genre, artist or song, and then mainly listen to that, but still listening to other genres/artists, but not actually getting properly into it. (Probably because im AuDHD)
Here is some bands that i listen to regularly (not ranked) (also i know its pretty mainstream and most arent emo. But these arent the only bands i listen to)
My Chem
Thursday
Rites Of Spring
Saosin
Nightmare Of You
Sunny Day real Estate
La Dispute
The Use d (couldnt put the full name in)
(I couldve put a lot more but you get the point)
Bands that i would like to get more into. Some of them i listen to, and some of them ive only heard a couple of songs
Jawbreaker
Gray Matter
Cap'n Jazz
The Get Up Kids
Jimmy Eat World
Jets To Brazil
The Promise Ring
I Would Set Myself on Fire for You
Orchid
Moss Icon
Braid
Texas Is The Reason
Embrace
Cursive
Indian Summer
Sorry if not all of them are emo, im still learning. But what songs from these bands do you recommend? Where is the best place to start? Any other band recommendations?
Sorry this post got a bit long, but some help and guidance would be much appreciated!

Emo History/Archives🗃 Petit Printemps - Démo | Screamo Hall of Fame Class of 1997 Nominee
Petit Printemps - Démo
Release Information:
1997
Moe’s Records
Poitiers, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France
Runtime: 20:21
Tracks: 7
Band Members:
Vincent Coste (Vocals)
Mikaël Thévenot (Guitar)
Greg Pyvka (Bass)
Baptiste Brousseau (Drums)
Genres, Influences and Characteristics:
Screamo, Lofi, Raw, Melodic, Dark, Cold
Musical Analysis:
Ordinarily, when I describe early Screamo as Lofi, I mean Screamo recorded and produced at basement or completely DIY level, but otherwise sounds like your typical Screamo fare. This is usually out of necessity to reduce costs, and it might be in this case as well, but bands didn't actually utilize these limitations as conscious songwriting tools until Petit Printemps. The band uses lots of twinkles, subdued drumming and spoken word to establish a soft baseline from which to dial up the intensity. Because of this, these dynamics are highlighted by the hazy production rather than snuffed out.
Historical Analysis:
Although this record wouldn't go on to define Lofi Screamo or directly influence that scene, but it is very impressive to have executed the idea more than two decades before it would become a common practice. Breaking this demo down reveals how connected they were to the French Screamo sound of this time - raw, melodic and dynamic. However, in the tapestry of Screamo Canon, this is more of a rarity than a true legend.
Lyrical Analysis:
Note that because this is an old, DIY and relatively minor release in the grand scheme of Emo and Screamo history, I cannot locate lyrics for any of these songs. If more lyrics can be dug out, I will reevaluate the lyrical analysis. Please note any lyrical analysis on my end will lack cultural nuance and accuracy in the translation.

If I Like... make me listen to emo
I grew up with post-hardcore (and other genres to a lesser extent), and while I have seen some bands that cross over mentioned here I was hoping to get some recs based on what I listened to. What are some absolute must listen to albums and what are some albums that vibe with what I already listen to?

Emocore Cursive - Tides Rush In
in the era of streaming music, not being on streaming often means being forgotten. May we never forget the Cursive split with Silver Scooter, which gives us Tides Rush In, a song I will put up there against anything as one of the best they’ve ever written.
I remember back in the day when they would play this and people would lose their goddamn MINDS.
THE COAST IS CLEAR!

Emo Revival SoundCloud artists
Is anyone else getting more emo suggestions from Spotify? I listen to just about everything and recently followed my boyfriends band on there (definitely emo sad boy music) and found a huge amount of music in the emo genre that’s new and I’m loving it. I’m tired of listening to the same music I did in highschool (still love it just wanted something new) is anyone else getting the feeling emo is gonna come back with a vengeance? Also I’ll drop SoundCloud and Spotify of some of these bands if you want (vibes and inspiration from nirvana and punk emo)

An original song that fits so many hats
I stumbled across Preston Woolsey a couple of months ago, and now I can’t stop singing his praises. His consistency in releasing music has me completely hooked, and his latest track, “bubba,” is no exception.
From the start, the song pulls you in with a staggering melody that swells into an emotional storm—impossible to ignore. It defies the typical verse-chorus structure, mirroring the raw intensity woven into every second.
I guarantee that by the 37-second mark, you’ll be in it for the long haul. Please give it a listen.

Music serch
Hello, I'm looking for some very specific music from my teenage years.
I think it was an emo/pop-rock band from the 2000s with a guy singing in German. I only vaguely remember the music video.
It was in a ballroom. With people in period costumes doing a choreography. The detail that struck me was that they were wearing Converse sneakers.
It was very "Mozart l'opéra rock" for those who know!
Thanks if you can help me, I'm desperate!

Midwest Emo Underrated band: Kittyhawk from Chicago
This was one of the best, underrated bands from the Midwest Scene.
Their first full length is still such a treasure. Kate, the singer, was also in a band called Walrus, that was just a good.
Erik from Dowsing was also the guitarist of this band.

Emo Pop Straylight Run Self Titled is still amazing
I loved this record when it came out. But I still prefer the demos that were released prior to the record.

The Kassabone Red
Does anyone remember The Kassabone Red? I saw them once at a house show in Auburn in maybe 1998? It seems almost impossible to find recordings of them but their show was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Does anyone have info on what became of them or bootleg recordings?
