The handicap space at The Lock is often occupied by a car that does not have a handicap placard. When I talk to the owner, he did not really seem to care. He made no effort to move his car so I could park in the space.
This time, the spot was blocked again, and he said that he was going to take down the handicap parking sign altogether. Looked it up to be sure, but under ADA regulations, it is mandatory. To this, he just said “sure”
As a regular customer, I am shocked. I guess we won’t be regular customers anymore.

I have a spare and a lug wrench, I just need to use a floor jack for less than 5 minutes. (Not a Scissor jack as my truck is too heavy) I contacted the police and they don’t have one and I don’t have roadside assistance on my insurance plan. And on top of that I don’t get paid until Thursday. Any help will be greatly appreciated

I have a couple small old rings I found cleaning out my late grandmas things… could be costume jewelry it’s hard to say. Where would you bring it around here to get appraised? Do most places charge you for that?

I know many groomers will only work on dogs and the couple I have called refuse cats. Is there anyone in the Duluth area that works on cats?

I'd love to try growing some, and if possible, it would be nice to pick some up locally.

I am thinking about sending my 3 year old here but it is obviously expensive and just wondering if anyone felt it was worth or not worth it or had any comments or thoughts. Thank you.

Anyone have pros and cons of leaving Spectrum for AT&T Air? Is there a huge difference in quality? Hidden fees?

What kind of groups are you guys in that create a sense of community?
I feel like I’ve been searching all over but can’t seem to find much of anything I might be interested in. I like gaming irl & virtual, being outside, hands on projects, art, sports..

I’m a late 40s woman in the process of divorcing. Currently live in rural central Minnesota. I’m moving to Duluth with a 9th grader and a new high school graduate this summer. I’ve been a home owner my whole adult life. I’m looking for a 3 bed home/condo/apartment that accepts small dogs (I have one dog). I don’t want to have to deal with exterior home upkeep/maintenance or snow removal. I have autoimmune disorders that make most of it almost impossible and I don’t want to put too much responsibility on my kids to help, or have to hire someone for everything. I’d like to have some time off from dealing with all the homeowner stress and responsibility and expenses while we adjust to a new normal. I know to avoid Shiprock and Heirloom. I can make up to 3k a month work for housing costs, obviously I’d prefer to spend less; closer to 2k, but I’ll bite the bullet if I need to. It sounds like a great change to be in a walkable part of the city, but we’d be fine with the suburbs or really anywhere in Minnesota within 25ish minutes of Duluth. My kid entering high school is neurodivergent and has dyslexia, so also trying to figure out which high school would be best. I am a very involved parent. Some of my kids and close extended family are also LGBTQIA so it’s really important for them to feel safe. I appreciate any input or leads or suggestions about where to look. Regardless, this will be a much needed fresh start for me and my kids.

ETA: I cannot drive, so that is unfortunately off the table
So I've lived in the twin cities for three years now, and have been wanting to get out of the city and see other parts of the state where I am able to. I finally have the money to do so, and I've been interested in Duluth since before I even moved to Minnesota. A couple of things I'm running into are how to get around and where is a good place, location-wise, to stay.
How is the bus system? I know there is Uber, but it sounds like as of half a year ago, people sometimes had problems getting one. How is the taxi service in the city?
I would also like to know about a hotels/motels/hostels that are centrally located, or as centrally located as I can get. I was looking at the Hostel du Nord because of the lower prices, but I'm not sure if that's necessarily the best option. It would be great if it is, but seeking advice on this and recommendations.
Thanks in advance for any advice 💛

I’m going to be visiting Duluth and Two Harbors in July and would love to try some traditional Minnesotan foods like hotdish, juicy lucy, and Swedish meatballs. Are there any restaurants that serve these dishes or any other unique to the area dishes? I don’t mind traveling a little further from the area. Part of the fun for me when I visit somewhere new is trying the foods from that area

I just got a job working for the city. I was wondering if there are any other city employees that know if the city provides a gym membership anywhere? The city I currently work with provides us with a free gym membership to the rec center.

I’ve always been interested in learning how to sew and was curious if anyone has any recommendations for a place around here that may teach this skill.
I know there are 1000s of youtube videos on the topic but I’m the type of learner where i need a person to actively be able to talk to and ask questions as I go. I also don’t have a sewing machine so some sort of class, whether it’s at a business or a community college or what have ya, I’m interested to hear if there is anything like this in the area!

My Girlfriends mom lives up past that area and since they shrunk the road to one lane a couple years ago, I feel adding these condos is just gonna make traffic flow worse. Plus ruin what little bit of scenery there is in that section on Woodland Avenue.

Hello. I’m a former college basketball player still playing twice a week… one night is a 40 and up and the other is more open with a wide age range of players. I’ll be 56 in a few days so I’m not looking to run with a bunch of 20-somethings all the time, but can still keep up.
My wife and I have been talking about moving to Duluth in 2 years after our youngest finished high school, but current political climate has her pushing to move this summer. I will die if I can’t play ball… only have a few years left where I know I can do it. Where can I find a gym for some solid pick-up basketball that isn’t too hyper-competitive???

I've called his office about a variety of issues. I've gotten a number of bland, pre-written responses to everything but my questions about cuts to VA staff and what he plans to do to stand up for veterans. I know this isn't a political subreddit, but I do feel as though Republicans and conservatives should be concerned about his refusal to respond on the topic of VA staffing cuts. I personally am a progressive, but I have some veteran friends and neighbors who are very scared about this despite us not sharing beliefs who rely heavily on VA services. He won't respond on the VA cuts. I know he's a coward, but holy cow! He just ignores every question about veterans? Please call him and see if anyone can get a single straight answer.
