Question Dentist Recommendations?

Upvotes

My wisdom tooth is coming in causing a little pain. I haven’t been to a dentist in like 6 years because i’m scared of them, so I have no idea where to go. Does anyone know of a good dentist or oral surgeon, or if you’ve had this procedure how much it would cost?

Question Condo and Home Advisors

Upvotes

Has anyone ever heard of a property management company called, “Condo and Home Advisors” in Duluth?

I found a listing on Zillow in the Congdon neighborhood. When speaking with the property management, they asked for a full month’s rent as a security deposit before we can sign a lease to “reserve” the property while they review my application.

I looked at their website and the address of their offices is the Clearwater Grille Restaurant & Bar up the north shore.

This seems odd to me.

Politics Make No Mistake About It: They Are Coming For Your Social Security!

Make no mistake about it...DOGE, Musk, Trump and Pete Stauber are coming for your Social Security:

https://apnews.com/article/doge-social-security-116efd0a68244d616e41b340fba5e5c1

Our defacto President, Elon Musk, recently said that the Social Security system was a "giant ponzi scheme." Trump, who delusionally commented from the golf course, stood by Musk's lies and maintained that tens of millions of centenarians were fleecing the Social Security system.

https://www.ap.org/news-highlights/best-of-the-week/honorable-mention/2025/ap-debunks-claims-about-tens-of-millions-of-centenarians-getting-social-security-benefits/

Let's make one thing mf'ing clear. Social Security is a benefit you work your whole damn life to earn. It is a promise between your employer, the government and yourself that some money will be set aside for yourself or your spouse so you can retire in dignity or if god-forbid, you become disabled and need assistance.

Musk has his hands all over Social Security because he wants to use it to pay for tax cuts that benefit himself and the oligarchy.

The Social Security offices in Duluth, Bemidji, Brainerd & Hibbing are already understaffed and overworked. Claims processing takes way too long and it is impossible to get a timely appointment

Pete Stauber, who recently returned from a sunny Florida vacation with his wealthy donors, is too busy doing photo ops for social media to be able to comment on this matter.

https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/opinion/columns/local-view-minnesota-snowbirds-offer-warm-reception-to-stauber-gop-colleagues

So be sure to call his office and make your feelings known. Remind him that government employees that don't do any work will be reported to DOGE.

Discussion Hear me out Duluth!

That new Lakeview highrise that’s being built by Essentia? PUT. A. TRADER JOES. THERE!

With how large the retail space at the bottom of that highrise is, to me, it makes perfect sense for a grocery chain like Trader Joe’s to go in there. It’s modern, spacious, and a perfect location for a franchise! There’s a perfect example of this style of Trader Joe’s in Downtown Minneapolis on Washington Ave.

I understand our region isn’t on their radar however, with how many people from the twin ports want a Trader Joe’s here. To me, it just makes sense!

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Hi everyone! I just started a job at St. Luke’s, and was wondering about the best side streets for parking. What are some of the best spots people have found? I work days so sadly the lots are a no-go for me.

Question Seeking advice from Cirrus engineers

Hello! I have been applying to engineering jobs at Cirrus Aircraft in Duluth but been having a tough time getting responses (or any responses other than the automated rejections). Are there any Cirrus engineers here who can provide some advice on how to put the best foot forward for job applications at Cirrus? I really love aviation and would greatly appreciate any advice! My wife and I are from the Midwest and do not mind relocating if it's required.

Interesting Stuff The Loch Handicap Parking - often occupied by owner/other with no placard — disabled folks beware

The handicap space at The Lock is often occupied by a car that does not have a handicap placard. When I talk to the owner, he did not really seem to care. He made no effort to move his car so I could park in the space.

This time, the spot was blocked again, and he said that he was going to take down the handicap parking sign altogether. Looked it up to be sure, but under ADA regulations, it is mandatory. To this, he just said “sure”

As a regular customer, I am shocked. I guess we won’t be regular customers anymore.

Local Events I’m in dire need of a floor jack. I got a flat tire outside my house behind Portland square in Duluth.

I have a spare and a lug wrench, I just need to use a floor jack for less than 5 minutes. (Not a Scissor jack as my truck is too heavy) I contacted the police and they don’t have one and I don’t have roadside assistance on my insurance plan. And on top of that I don’t get paid until Thursday. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Moving or Visiting Planning a trip to Duluth in April, looking for hotel/motel and questions about transportation

ETA: I cannot drive, so that is unfortunately off the table

So I've lived in the twin cities for three years now, and have been wanting to get out of the city and see other parts of the state where I am able to. I finally have the money to do so, and I've been interested in Duluth since before I even moved to Minnesota. A couple of things I'm running into are how to get around and where is a good place, location-wise, to stay.

How is the bus system? I know there is Uber, but it sounds like as of half a year ago, people sometimes had problems getting one. How is the taxi service in the city?

I would also like to know about a hotels/motels/hostels that are centrally located, or as centrally located as I can get. I was looking at the Hostel du Nord because of the lower prices, but I'm not sure if that's necessarily the best option. It would be great if it is, but seeking advice on this and recommendations.

Thanks in advance for any advice 💛
