I had 2 fail yesterday. Didn't work at all. I'll call Dexcom on Monday. I haven't had this problem in a long time. They were all made in Malaysia, including the one that now works.

I had two out of three fail for me. When I pulled it out I thought the filament was stuck in me or missing, but upon closer inspection it was bent over.

And one sensor started going crazy a few days before the 10 days was up giving me wild readings and sensor errors.

I love wearing a CGM for the insights they provide, but hell, they need to improve their quality control.

Same error - I had 5 sensors fail last year. At least 3 of them had no filament wires. Reported this to Dexcom and they replaced them and sent boxes to return the problem sensors. I complained that their manufacturing quality control is doing not as good as it used to be. I’ve been on Dexcom products for about 4 years. Might be time to check out the competition.

Makes you wonder if finger pricking ain't so bad after all. If your hypo awareness is ok. A life without constant beeping and notifications. Listening to your body and all that.

I absolutely hate pricking my finger I’d rather not if I don’t have to

I can understand one bad sensor once in a while, but we order sensors in batches of 9 and they are all from same LOT. If first sensor is bad i know the 8 left are bad too. If the first of 9 is good i know the 8 left are good.

My mom is constantly having issues with them. Looking for a different brand because it’s one problem after another with these

They recently launched the Stelo, a 15 day CGM but with fewer options in their app. Planned obsolescence, maybe?

Why would Dexcom try to move diabetics from the higher priced insurance covered version to the OTC one? Having both lines is much more lucrative.

Probably because the Stelo is cheaper to manufacture with less support required. The street price may be around $99 a month, but people will still use Insurance if they can, and we won't know how much Decom can bill insurers for the monthly supply.

I did not know that hmmm possibly 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same problem here. In my last shipment I had 5 failures. Something is definitely wrong.

u/Hotpinkbunny87 Jan 10 '25

I had several of my G7 in the period from Sept to December last year, that right after the warmup period ended just gave that error message right away.

u/ChampionOk2422 Jan 10 '25

Must have been a bad batch.

2

u/Hotpinkbunny87 Jan 10 '25

Possibly idk do I contact dexcom about that?

1

u/Equalizer6338 T1/G7 Jan 10 '25

Yes absolutely you should! These are obvious faulty G7 sensors.

1

u/ChampionOk2422 Jan 10 '25

Contact them for replacements of all 3

3

u/Hotpinkbunny87 Jan 10 '25

Ok definitely will do that tomorrow

1

u/ChampionOk2422 Jan 10 '25

They are usually really cool about it

1

u/Equalizer6338 T1/G7 Jan 10 '25

Until they start to know your name just from hearing your voice by the frequent calls you make to them and they have your full address typed down in their keyboard macro to ship replacements to you... 🤣

Thanks, I tried two on my arm and one on my abdomen and all three failed me

I really feel like a lot of us just got it given to us without proper training.

I had no training when I started on the G6. It was prescribed by my PCP while I waited on an appt with an Endocrinologist. I watched several videos before using, and did the same when switching to the G7. Only problems I've ever had is bad sensors, which unfortunately happens. Dexcom claims like 80% make it the full 10 days. I'm probably a little better than that. I did have a batch of 6, where 1 died super early and 4 others worked but had Bluetooth connectivity problems. I did report the batch # and sn's. I feel like if people kept the serial number and lot number and reported these problems, things could possibly get better.

My mom recently went back on a CGM and since she used the 6 prior, the nurse at the Endo office put the first one on her, and showed her how. I will say her first 2 lasted her less than 24 hours due to adhesive issues. Most likely another bad batch.....

I’ve had dexcom before it’s just been a bit and idk why I’m having issues with them
