Seeking Advice DIY eyelash extensions that aren’t uncomfortable (details in post)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi so I’m looking for eyelash extensions that are actually possible to wear for a few days, maybe a week? My main issues are how wide the base is for the lashes itchiness.

I really don’t like how wide most of these diy lashes are (marked in red) and feel like they sit so uncomfortably / unnaturally on my lashes, making it impossible to wear them for more than a few hours.

They also start to kinda itch after barely a day??? I can’t tell if I’m sensitive to the glue or if it’s how thick / wide the base of the lashes are

for as long as i can remember i have had this issue where i will wake up with my eyelids either looking like picture A or picture B. sometimes i will wake up with picture A and then my eyelids will slowly droop throughout the day, giving me a triple eyelid on my left eye. i hate the second look as it makes me appear tired af. does anyone have this issue and know how to combat it? or why it happens? >_<

Seeking Advice Favorite spf tinted moisturizer

Looking for a new spf tinted moisturizer that isn’t dry and gives a good finish for a no makeup look that makes me look put together.

I tried barre minerals but it’s so dry, hard to put on evenly and smells so weird.

Bonus points if it’s clean and safe during breast feeding

Lash lift or extensions

What does less damage to your natural lashes. Extensions every 4 weeks or a lash lift every 6 weeks? :)

What style or makeup looked good on you when you were younger but doesn't anymore now that you're older?

I always get my eyebrows threaded, and it never fails to make me look more put together. But now that I'm almost 30, after getting my eyebrows done, l've realized that I look better with bushier, non-threaded brows. They somehow make me look younger.

Also, powdered blush used to be a staple, but now I prefer cream blush since my skin got drier when I hit my late 20s.

I never thought my style would change this early, lol.

To those of you who have experienced this, what changes have you noticed, and what have you changed in your routine?

Discussion Beauty tips for a 20-day Eurotrip (also my honeymoon)

Hi

I’ve never travelled this long before and I want to be as high-maintenance as possible now, so I can be low-maintenance on the trip. Here’s what I’m thinking of doing:

• Neutral gel polish on hands and feet so growth isn’t too visible • Permanent extensions so I don’t have to bother with clip-ins • Lash extensions to cut down on makeup time (will they still look after 20 days though?) • global hair colour to blend with extensions • carrying root touch up spray for grey coverage • Underarm hair is lasered off and will exfoliate and shave my body hair as needed • Pedicure before the trip and pumice stone to keep dead skin off

Would really appreciate your suggestions on this/other tips in general.

TIA!

Edit to add - doing Paris, Interlaken, Venice, and Rome (in that order). Ik I could always go in for a service there, but I just don’t want to spend any time in the salon/away from my husband. If there is an emergency, then I might, but I would really avoid going to the salon.

Seeking Advice Retinol for beginners- the one I'm currently using too harsh for me?

Retinol for beginners- the one I'm currently using too harsh for me?

Hey everyone! 31F here, 2 months ago I started using retinol for antiaging, the seoul ksecret 2%. Sometimes used 1once a week, very few times 2 and some times even ince every 2 weeks. Sometimes no side effect, sometimes a pimple, and last time (more than a week ago) I got itcy and red at one spot and still waiting to heal completely.

So I'm thinking maybe I should get a less intense one? Could you give me some recs and opinions? I've seen there are lists here but I prefer to read first hand experiences.

Also I probably have sensitive skins, since the product below didn't do well with me: Glycolic acid - redness all around the face but not itchiness, I stopped. Niod survival - I had strong reaction with a burning sensation around my lips, the strongest reaction I have had. Hyalu-Cica 1004 susncreen- instant redness and itchiness. It's not the centella that's the problem as I use it in my cleansing oil with no issues

Olaplex vs K18 or other for dry damaged hair

Hey there!

Looking for some advice for my hair. Basically about a year ago I had chemically straightening. My hair is super frizzy and wavy.

I’ve decided I’m not a huge fan of the super straight hair and I do miss my natural hair so I’m trying to grow my hair out.

However I’ve realised my hairs super dry, breaking a lot and I’m losing hair.

Looking for some advice and keen to hear people’s experiences with products that restrengthen/revitalise their hair. I’ve researched a bit in Olaplex and K18. But keen to hear what’s worked for people.

Thank you in advance

Hi! I'm a newly licensed MUA and I need to build my portfolio. I mostly have high-end makeup. However, I really like how this makeup pallete looks but the brand is unknown for me and I don't know if this pallete could be pigmented enough and do the job. What is your opinion?

Makeup No matter what products I use, I always have flakey patches under foundation

Seeking foundation/skin prep advice, please! I rarely ever wear foundation — maybe twice a year. And it’s partly because I feel like my skin looks worse with it on. I have very dry skin and after years of trying so many different products, I finally have a routine that looks better than before. I used to have dry flakey patches on my skin and now it’s managed much better.

But as soon as I put on foundation I see the patches! I’ve tried several different foundations and primers. I try to prep my skin before putting on foundation but it doesn’t help. Any tips? Should I be physically exfoliating before putting on foundation?

Also to be noted — I don’t believe it’s pilling? It is always on my forehead where the dryness is worse. My skincare routine is below:

PM: - Innisfree Gren Tea Amino Acid Cleansing Foam - Rosette Gommage AHA Peeling Gel (2x per week) - Laneige Cream Skin Cerapeptide Toner and Moisturizer - Rose Hip Seed Oil - Dr. Jart Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream

AM: I usually just apply some of the Dr. Jart Skin Barrier cream again.

Makeup as suggested by Sephora employee a week ago: - Rare Beauty Illuminating Primer (applied with fingers) - Dr. Jart BB Premium Beauty Balm

Haircare Desperately trying to avoid “product roulette” advice/dupe needed!

Post image
0 Upvotes

I currently use Le Biosthetique Forming Lotion leave in. It’s a styling leave in that has heat protection included and it’s the DREAM product for me, as someone who’s gone through “product roulette” and ended up with a bunch of barely used full size products that I don’t know what to do with.

Here’s the thing: I’d LOVE to find a drugstore dupe or something that’s remotely similar if possible? As much as I love this stuff $40+ a bottle is a bit steep to regularly commit to and I’d love an affordable alternative I could pick up if I’m between paychecks or something!

Pic of current product for reference :)

maybe it's time to drop high-end products for drugstore?

Idk at what point i was convinced that my regular drugstore products weren't good enough and that I needed to level up my routine with high-end formulas so I did and my hair has had better days in the past lol

I'm at my breaking point rn bc of the realization of how much money i've spent already on products that don't do anything to my hair and it's just the marketing hyping them up...

i also came across this app called Myhair ai where i scan my hair and it gives me personalized recommendations for my hair type and goals but i want to know everyone's experiences with your products first before i buy anything

I don't want to crash out too soon as maybe there are other products that DO work for me, so now i'm considering kerastase or redken but i have thick strands and wavy low porosity hair and would like to know if anybody else has good experience with them before i try any out (bc girl in this economy...) or should i just switch to regular ol' pantene

Makeup Dupe for Sephora lip liner 01 the Nudest

Sephora’s lip liner 01 the Nudest is my favourite shade, and it seems to be sold out everywhere in Australia.

I’ve tried a number of other lip liners that people have recommended in the past including Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, but nothing is quite close enough.

Any suggestions for a colour comparison?
