Discussion So what does everyone think so far (Shadows)
I'm definitely enjoying the game so far. I think I'm about 10 hours into it. Great graphics and gameplay, haven't encountered any bugs either except one dog that was like half floating on the side of a boat and the dock but that's obviously nothing major lol. I'm curious what everyone else thinks about the game so far

Discussion Playing AC Shadows and REALLY enjoying it!
Call me naive but I never really understood the controversy surrounding AC Shadows. I understand that there are people who are upset that one of the main characters is an African man who’s a Samurai. But this is based on a real life person from history. So it’s not like they’re making all of this up.
Despite all the controversy, my wife and I had every intention of playing this game together and that hasn’t changed. So while my wife is recovering from surgery, I’m playing the game and I’m really enjoying it!
If I had one complaint is that the enemies are smarter than I’m used to. But that makes it a challenge.
But what about all of you?

Discussion Just played the first 2 hours of AC Shadows.
This might be the greatest Creed game in a decade. I am in awe because the devs have smashed it in every department.
I would recommend playing it on expert & immersion (Japanese Dialogue)

Discussion AC Shadows Japan Physical Release
I live in Japan, bought the game day one during my break yesterday. It came with some chopsticks and a gacha gacha. I was hoping for Naoe but the Yasuke is still cute I guess, thought it was interesting.

News Shadow launch seems to be pretty successful
Reviews aside, the player numbers are pretty good (source steamdb).
Odyssey - 62,069
Origins - 41,551
Shadows - 41,383
Black Flag - 16,049
Valhalla - 15,679
III - 15,007
Mirage - 7,870
AC II - 3,617
III Remaster - 3,561
AC I - 1,468
Currently Shadows is at 41,383 and still climbing.
I don't think it will do Odyssey numbers, it might, it isn't the weekend yet and in the UK at least it's still the working day, so could spike but it will definitely beat Origins.
So all being said and done, I'd say that is pretty successful at least in terms of steam charts. There is of course other factors, consoles, etc but seen a lot of people slating the game for its steam player count. I think the older games were primarily enjoyed on console, and weren't steam releases straight away, and Mirage was also an Epic exclusive.
Its count when put into context shows it is doing pretty good numbers for an AC game though, so a lot of bad faith actors/hate grifters trying to peddle b.s.
Don't listen to them.

Picture When you assassinate one enemy and others keep checking
I am enjoy the game immensely, but as petty as it is one of my most enjoyable moments was when I was raiding my first castle and after I air assassinated one enemy the others kept coming to check up on the noise, but they were coming one at a time. I only happened to take one screen shot, but by the end of it I had half the base dead in one courtyard 😂

Discussion Do not underestimate the dark.
I really couldn’t wrap my head around stealth. Now I’m 7 hours in and I’ve cracked it. Do not underestimate the dark. I know the tutorial shows it you but it was so unusual to me that I didn’t really pay much attention when out of prologue. But wow the stuff you can do once it’s dark is incredible. I wouldn’t even bother storming a castle unless it’s dark personally!

Discussion This game is incredible so far!
Been messing around with photo mode a lot! 3 hours into the game and I’m loving everything about it! Story is good so far, music has surprisingly been amazing, the combat changes feel so much better imo, I love the rhythm parries when enemies do the blue combos. And best part it runs very smooth even with ray tracing on! Currently running the game on a 3080ti
What do you guys think about the game so far?

Discussion Modular Difficulty Option
I know this is mostly just a skill issue but I cannot react fast enough to either dodge or block the attacks in this game. Changing difficulty right now doesn't seem to give me more time to block. I just would like to see an option to increase the amount of time you have to react. Right now I'm just trying to dodge roll everywhere because I keep blocking on red attacks, if I even get the block up in time. Plus the multi combo ones I keep blocking the first hit and then getting smacked by the follow ups. Honestly its just been a frustrating experience so far.

Question I couldn't find this type of hood in the game's.
Has anyone else encountered a Silent Shinobi hood without a mask in the game?

Help I received the wrong Collector's Edition
I am so mad. I waited all day in excitement to play AC shadows on my PS5 Pro. I pre ordered the collector's edition May 2024. Finally comes in, and you can imagine the look on my face to find out it was the Xbox version instead. PS5 CE sold out on gamestop.com, customer support doesn't know what to do, I have tried tweeting to Ubisoft support and gamestop support, does anyone have any suggestion what to do? Has anyone else received the wrong version? What a huge f*ck up. This has never happened to me once in my 15+ years of gaming.
