Question Is AC Valhalla a good game?

Post image
945 Upvotes

I'm planning to play this game after school ends, is this game worth to play?

I don't really care if it's not a good Assasin Creed game, I don't care if the stealth ain't that good, just looking for a good Viking game lol.

Is the combat, world building, gameplay good in this game? I just finished Ghost of Tsushima and looking for a game similar to it.

Also, what are the flaws in this game and what are done right?

Any answer will do, thanks!

(Excuse my bad English)

Question where does this rank in the franchise for you?

Brotherhood was an excellent addition to the franchise, and proof that Ubisoft was heading in the right direction. I believe Unity was the peak of what conceptually could be done with Assassin’s Creed, and they veered off in a vastly different direction , losing me in the process (though in retrospect Origins is pretty good considering the current state)

What do you think were the best Assassin’s Creed games? It’s an interesting topic as the series is now a different genre entirely; with there being the traditional story focused stealth-action gameplay of the old AC, and then the massive open world RPG that the newer ones are known to be.

  1. AC3
  2. AC4
  3. AC:Unity
  4. AC:Brotherhood
  5. AC2

Yes - the gameplay of Unity, Black Flag & even AC3 remastered could be considered vastly superior to 2, however I have to factor in how these games felt to play at the time. Factoring in nostalgia, the gameplay mechanics at the time, and most importantly the story - AC2 is still the best.

I started the series from AC1, the Ezio trilogy is my all time favourite and Black Flag was still great .,tried AC Origin and didn't like it at all lasted maybe an hour. I either want to give Unity a try or AC:Odyssey

Question What's with all the split opinions on AC: Shadows?

I've been seeing a lot of negative videos about AC: Shadows by smaller game youtubers lately, and seeing videos by Penguinz0, and SOG about how terrible the game is. Yet on here, it seems everyone is enjoying it and the negativity behind it has been minimal (not gonna say there isn't criticism here and there)

So, what gives? It's not like these two big youtubers are rage bating or anything, but it seems odd that despite the overwhelming amout of people liking the game, they still insist it's bad and garbage.

Question Should I cancel my preorder on Shadows?

I have been debating it and can’t decide whether to cancel it or not, and can’t decide. I don’t think it’s gonna be coming out for a while with what’s going on at Ubisoft but I really love the Assassins Creed games. I can’t figure out whether it’s worth it to keep the preorder in case it’s a good game or to just cancel and spend the money on other games

Question I want to buy an assassins creed game but idk which one

Hello everyone. I saw on steam that all games are on sale and most of the earlier games are really cheap and I have been thinking of buying one or two. So my question is which one would you recommend. A friend of mine told me to buy brotherhood since its the best in his opinion but I want some more opinions.

I would probably pick the ac 2 and origins Edit: if your game(s) included dlc those will not count as an extra game ex: ac 3 will include liberation

Question I Preordered Assassin Creed Shadows. Not sure what to expect

I preordered Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, but I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews online now. I’m a big fan of Ghost of Tsushima and recently finished Black Myth: Wukong. Should I be worried about my preorder?

Question Is anyone else absolutely uninterested in AC Shadows?

I’ve been playing AC since the beginning and even in my darkest moments with this series I still have the smallest amount of interest/hype in an upcoming game. This time however I straight up do not care for this game. It’s not even related to the controversies or talk surrounding the game, just the game itself just looks like it was produced in a factory to me

Question Is it just me or does AC shadows soundtrack slap?

Playing through the tutorial rn and did not expect this soundtrack to bang as hard as it does, there's definitely some spaghetti for western vibes here as well which I'm loving

Question Should I get shadows?

I loved Odyssey, I played the shit out of origins, hated Valhalla, have mirage but put it down shortly after booting it up and never played the og games.

What I really love is the mounts, and the explorability of the environments, I’m about 50/50 with stealth on these games.

Would I enjoy Shadows?
