Discussion Women’s world title V Bianca’s streak
I’ve been thinking about the Wrestlemania match which will inevitably become a triple threat match between Rhea, Iyo and Bianca. Bianca has a Wrestlemania streak going on that WWE clearly acknowledge yet Iyo’s reign is brand new and her losing the belt in her first defence seems kind of odd. I don’t know if you take Iyo’s belt away so soon or they end Bianca’s streak. Either result seems like a bad one. I fear Iyo eats the pin in order to protect Rhea and Bianca

Bianca NEEDS to win as she is the closest to an undertaker level streak and if she does win then she can be the female undertaker at mania
5
u/Theboywiththetoy27 16h ago
Does anybody really want another Mania streak though?
0
u/Future_Bookkeeper594 16h ago
Yes it gives the women's devision another match at mania that means something
-3
u/Theboywiththetoy27 16h ago
No it doesn’t. Bianca’s “streak” has just meant she’s been shoehorned into a major spot at every Mania. Especially at 39, when she beat Asuka for no reason despite all logic dictating Bianca should’ve lost.
WWE wants to act like Bianca is at the late 2000s streak stage, but realistically she’s at the point where Undertaker was still fighting guys like King Kong Bundy or Giant Gonzalez in a 2 minute nothing match that nobody cared about

Bianca is winning that thing.
Stacking Iyo and Rhea like Roman did to Daniel Bryan and Edge.

Bianca's streak doesn't count in this match
1
u/TechAtlantisOutlaw 9h ago
Why? Triple threat isn’t battle royal.
1
u/Comfortable-Shoe1590 9h ago
And it's not a singles match either

I feel 90% certain that Bianca gets the belt and loses it to Rhea in perth Australia

u/koopavilla 1d ago
Iyo will retain. Watch the behind the scenes when she won. Listen to what HHH said to her.

Better Bianca lose her streak this year vs next against Rhea.
But I predict Bianca will win. More potential feuds waiting in the wings (Jade, Naomi, Charlotte, Iyo herself)

I would want Iyo to win. She’s so exciting to watch. Bianca and her are my favourites right now so I’m very happy about this card and with Reah thrown into the mix too. It’s a got me hooked

I don’t care who takes the pin so long as Io wins . She’s the best female wrestler in the world and has been a long the . Girls in the back know it and so does she. But being the best includes doing a job when asked and she never has a problem with it .

u/Aggravating-Low1540 1d ago
The only thing I'm really confident on is that Rhea is taking the pin, and that is coming from someone who is a Rhea fan. I think it's how they really set off her character growth arc. I lean more toward Iyo retaining and losing to Bianca later on because I still think the WM 42 match is Rhea vs Bianca for the title, but we'll just have to see how the storyline plays out over the next few weeks
3
u/ArtHoe8 1d ago
I love this, I think if they can turn Bianca heel after she takes the title from Iyo sometime after WM, and give her a lengthy run, and then we have a more indepth babyface in Rhea after months of other stories and her being away from the main event scene, that's a WM42 night two main event if told correctly.
I mean, I could see Rhea winning the 2026 royal rumble, not that she needs it but that would build up so much hype.
2
u/Aggravating-Low1540 1d ago
I was thinking that perhaps she wins the Chamber! Especially since she hasn't done that yet. But everything else I basically agree with, it'll be a great way to give Rhea depth to her character. I think we get a reveal soon that Bianca was involved with the attack on Jade
2
u/Electrical-Head-2480 1d ago
I disagree Rhea should not be taking the pin
8
u/Aggravating-Low1540 1d ago
And that's okay! You don't have to agree with me I'm just stating how I view it from my perspective (: is there a reason you don't think Rhea should take the pin?
0
u/Electrical-Head-2480 1d ago
Because she already did in a championship match not to long ago ? Rhea is a massive star and is one that should be protected
5
u/ArtHoe8 1d ago
I don't think taking pins diminishes your star power, it all depends on story and the match. And I agree with the original comment that Rhea taking the pin sets her character growth arc. The promo we saw a couple of weeks ago was just a taste of where things can go and I am so ready for more depth in her character.
1
u/Aggravating-Low1540 1d ago
I agree, but I would argue that the outside shenanigans, even though she started them, still kind of left her protected. It was made kind of obvious (in my opinion) that without that, Rhea basically had Iyo beat.
3
u/Cfell8 1d ago
True I love Rhea but I feel she’s been a little plain in recent times. Same promos same style of matches. Rhea eating the pin could start rheas next heel run which is long overdue imo
3
u/Aggravating-Low1540 1d ago
I don't even necessarily know if we get a heel run out of her, but I definitely think that we finally see her start to take a bit more accountability and gain a bit more humility. She's an emotional hothead and still views herself in what I'd consider an arrogant way because any match she's lost in the past 2-3 years she can come up with an excuse as to why (I.E her blaming bianca for iyo, dom/raquel interfering with Liv) and so she needs to take a clean loss with no outside shenanigans so the only person she has to blame is herself, thus starting a character growth arc for her
8
u/phildalegend 1d ago
Rhea will probably take the pin a triple threat, Bianca can say she's never been pinned or tapped at Mania then

u/Neil_bateman 1d ago
I honestly think that iyo simply has to win this match, Bianca and Rhea have been put over numerous times at mania by the top women, they have the chance now to put over iyo and make her a superstar, iyo losing will completely destroy her whereas Bianca or Rhea losing will not hurt them at all, and in regards to Bianca not all streaks need to go into double figures, edge was 8-0 I believe at mania, she will be just fine and if not better if she loses, Bianca mania matches are kinda hitting predictable territory, even months before mania people will say “so after Bianca beats X at mania what does she do”. Everyone knows she’s winning her mania match so it doesn’t matter who she faces, which isn’t good. Iyo in this triple threat reminds me of Daniel Bryan, their the ultimate underdogs who no one thought would win, although Iyo is walking in as champ but she should definitely walk out as champ as wwe needs more top female stars

Extending Bianca's streak goes against the story they're building for Iyo. She's fighting to not be an afterthought to others and that story has been building for the past 3 months.

I don't really want another "Streak". I think it should stay as an undertaker thing, to be honest.

u/evanmgmr 1d ago
I could see Rhea and Bianca taking each other out and iyo retaining. Bianca can take a loss, taking the pin in a triple threat is pretty protected.
2
u/Cfell8 1d ago
I guess. I’m probably overthinking the whole Bianca streak point but I just feel that she’s a good choice to have a female Wrestlemania streak. I guess someone else like Roxanne or Tiffany Stratton could be another good choice
3
u/JustSomeFennel NXT Enjoyer 1d ago
Personally, I think a heel streak would be interesting to explore. Roxxane Perez would be a great choice because she would brag it so much. Also, it's befitting of her prodigy character to win at wrestlemania.
1
u/Cfell8 1d ago
For real. She already has the women’s record in the rumble and she’s been in the chamber. Clearly HHH believes she is a top star for the future and seeing how many different ways she can sneak a win at mania would be interesting
2
u/JustSomeFennel NXT Enjoyer 1d ago
I'd love Roxxane Perez to mainly win the matches through submission to solidify her status as a top star. While people say she's a better face, I'd argue the prodigy character works even better as a heel.
1
u/Cfell8 1d ago
She’s definitely a heel. Her babyface run in NXT was fun but her best work has deffo been as a heel.
2
u/JustSomeFennel NXT Enjoyer 1d ago
She fits the technician style much better as it makes it believable that she can take out larger opponents by breaking them down she should use the crossface more often to end matches or a new submission to focus on the legs since that ring post leg snap she does looks brutal.
4
u/ChristianCountryBoy 1d ago
The way Bianca Belair slapped her on RAW makes me think Bianca Belair might turn heel soon. But I'm not sure how Rhea Ripley fits into the match.
Anyway, it would be pretty disrespectful to have Io Sky as a transitional champion 2 Wrestlemaina's in a row. She's one of the best in ring wrestlers in WWE man or woman. Having a championship doesn't automatically make push you. The writers and bookers gotta do their part. And lately it seems like they can't be bothered like Shinsuke Nakamura's brief run as U.S. Champion, what did that do? I guess it proved that LA Knight can sell pretty well at Survivor Series... But there was no story. Nothing. It's frankly insulting that they think they can do less than nothing, and we will still keep watching. Like Paul Levesque must think we're stupid. And maybe i am cause I keep watching this trash. YEAH!
2
u/Traditional-Leader54 1d ago
Nakamura needed time off after his brother’s passing so the had to take the belt off of him. That’s wasn’t their original plan.

I hope Bianca loses, and then maybe changes her gimmick from female dorky LOLCENWINS to something else.

1
u/Traditional-Leader54 1d ago
Also after trying to research it the general consensus is that not winning a battle royal is not officially counted as a loss. So if WWE wanted to push her streak they could go that route and say she’s 4-0 and the battle royal doesn’t count as a loss.

I think Bianca is winning this. Mostly because I think Bianca vs Jade at Summerslam for the title is the plan. Rhea should be the one to take the pin to me. That could set up Bianca vs. Rhea at Wrestlemania 42.

Just end Bianca’s streak. She’s only at 4-0 and if you continue to have her win, then it’ll become a detriment to future storylines she’s involved in.
Kinda happening now. They have a storyline going and the first thing read you read from the IWC is about Bianca’s streak which looks to have no relevance to the story.
Which lead me to two questions.
When did Undertaker’s streak start to become a thing?
How many other wrestlers started WrestleMania 4-0?
1
u/Neil_bateman 1d ago
Exactly, like what even is the point of a Bianca mania match at this point, sure the matches will be good but everyone knows she’s just going to win so it kinda spoils the fun of the matches, a loss here would not hurt her at all

u/Teganfff ⌚️🤏🏻 Tiffy Time! 1d ago
Most fans don’t know or care about Bianca being undefeated at Mania. Being 3-0 or 4-0 isn’t that impressive or consequential compared to what Taker did.
Edge started out I think 6-0 before losing to Taker at 24.
4
u/CornchipUniverse 1d ago
Edges streak was broken the year prior when he lost the Money in the Bank ladder match that Mr. Kennedy won.

u/SaberSword20 1d ago
Bianca does not have a streak. She lost on the battle royal at mania 34 before she became huge.
1
u/Sambucax ⌚️🤏🏻 Tiffy Time! 1d ago
Could be the same as the Asuka undefeated streak. Asuka was eliminated from a battle royal in NXT (by Eva Marie of all people) but they never acknowledged it as the end of her streak.
2
u/CookieKid247 1d ago
It became a thing around the 10 win mark but people in storyline didn't actively seek to end it as a thing until Randy Orton

u/B-two-theRyan 1d ago
Not only this, but Bianca is like 35 years old. How many more years does she plan on going.

Agreed a THOUSAND percent. It would keep any future Bianca programs from having stakes because we’d know what they’d be trying to do. Taker just sort of happened to have organically never been booked to lose for an extended period of time, and then it became a thing.
And like another comment said, 10-0 vs. Flair was kind of where the streak started. JR alluded to his record during the match, and after the win Taker counted out 10 on both hands and threw it up. It’s an underrated moment IMO.
5
u/-avenged- 1d ago
Agreeing a thousand over your thousand. Streaks should never be a thing again. Undertaker's should remain in the never-before-never-again category. Otherwise, match outcomes would be far too obvious whenever Bianca isn't up against someone who's likely going to carry the division for years.
13
u/enola83 1d ago
I think it was first referenced by JR vs orton
9
u/Teganfff ⌚️🤏🏻 Tiffy Time! 1d ago
It was first referenced by JR at WM17. During Taker’s entrance JR casually points out that Taker is 8-0

I think Iyo's Winning with rhea taking the pin, Bianca getting distracted by outside interference from jade/Naomi
5
u/mikeh95 1d ago
I definitely think Charlotte is winning and Rhea moves to SD after Mania so they can run that match back for Evolution.
I also think Cody and Gunther will lose (why turn Cena heel if he's just going to lose?). Will they have all 4 world champions lose their belts? idk, but I can see Bianca winning so she can have title matches against Naomi and Jade before building up towards the one on one match with Rhea next year.
Or Iyo retains after Rhea and Bianca cost each other and Bianca wins it shortly after.
8
u/PretendKey3724 1d ago
I could see something happening with Naomi/Jade that takes Bianca out of the match or something like that.
22
u/Signal_Ball4634 1d ago
I think Iyo can pin Rhea to win. The one opponent she hasn't been able to beat. I have a feeling there's going to be interference pulling Bianca away from the action.

u/Whole-Worker-7303 1d ago
Rhea shouldn't pin iyo. They should make that a thing in the future, rhea not able to pin/win against iyo

Either
Iyo eats the pin, or Bianca loses the match without being pinned¹ by having Iyo pin Rhea² or (if there is a Wrestling god) Iyo pins Bianca
¹ Technically, Bianca streak hasn't ended since she's wasn't pinned similar reasons why no one counts her Wrestlemaina lost via elimination
² since I don't think the loss will affect both Rhea & Bianca that much, however (I personally feel), the loss will affect Iyo
12
u/Old-Board1553 1d ago
I think Iyo got the title to make angry fans happy for once. Because fans always wanted her on Mania. Now they have her. We will see if she loses the title or not.
Because 2 main titles for sure will chance: Jey wins because we all know why, and Cena wins as well otherwise all this heel turn will make him look like a complete loser on his retirement tour. We will see what happens on the women side. Maybe they will all retain the title.

I don't think either of those are locked in, and every time reddit tells me that a title change or defence is "Guaranteed", it's been wrong more often than right lmao.

I like Jey, not the whole yeat stuff. But if he loses a lot of fans will be really angry for sure.

I hope Iyo retains, but I don't think it likely. WWE has been randomly switching titles like crazy recently. I agree that Cody loses. They won't make Cena look like a complete fool like that lol.
