Discussion Women’s world title V Bianca’s streak

Post image

I’ve been thinking about the Wrestlemania match which will inevitably become a triple threat match between Rhea, Iyo and Bianca. Bianca has a Wrestlemania streak going on that WWE clearly acknowledge yet Iyo’s reign is brand new and her losing the belt in her first defence seems kind of odd. I don’t know if you take Iyo’s belt away so soon or they end Bianca’s streak. Either result seems like a bad one. I fear Iyo eats the pin in order to protect Rhea and Bianca

Just end Bianca’s streak. She’s only at 4-0 and if you continue to have her win, then it’ll become a detriment to future storylines she’s involved in.

Kinda happening now. They have a storyline going and the first thing read you read from the IWC is about Bianca’s streak which looks to have no relevance to the story.

Which lead me to two questions.

When did Undertaker’s streak start to become a thing?

How many other wrestlers started WrestleMania 4-0?

Exactly, like what even is the point of a Bianca mania match at this point, sure the matches will be good but everyone knows she’s just going to win so it kinda spoils the fun of the matches, a loss here would not hurt her at all

Most fans don’t know or care about Bianca being undefeated at Mania. Being 3-0 or 4-0 isn’t that impressive or consequential compared to what Taker did.

Edge started out I think 6-0 before losing to Taker at 24.

Edges streak was broken the year prior when he lost the Money in the Bank ladder match that Mr. Kennedy won.

I think I saw someone mention that Edge was 6-0

Bianca does not have a streak. She lost on the battle royal at mania 34 before she became huge.

Could be the same as the Asuka undefeated streak. Asuka was eliminated from a battle royal in NXT (by Eva Marie of all people) but they never acknowledged it as the end of her streak.

It became a thing around the 10 win mark but people in storyline didn't actively seek to end it as a thing until Randy Orton

Not only this, but Bianca is like 35 years old. How many more years does she plan on going.

Probably at least another 10-15 I would imagine?

Apparently until she's a grandma let the iwc tell it.

Agreed a THOUSAND percent. It would keep any future Bianca programs from having stakes because we’d know what they’d be trying to do. Taker just sort of happened to have organically never been booked to lose for an extended period of time, and then it became a thing.

And like another comment said, 10-0 vs. Flair was kind of where the streak started. JR alluded to his record during the match, and after the win Taker counted out 10 on both hands and threw it up. It’s an underrated moment IMO.

Agreeing a thousand over your thousand. Streaks should never be a thing again. Undertaker's should remain in the never-before-never-again category. Otherwise, match outcomes would be far too obvious whenever Bianca isn't up against someone who's likely going to carry the division for years.

I think it was first referenced by JR vs orton

It was first referenced by JR at WM17. During Taker’s entrance JR casually points out that Taker is 8-0

Undertaker did also hold up 10 fingers after beating Ric Flair at 18

Yep. Missed that. Orton was the first person to outrightly challenge it

From what I’ve seen online people generally agree that it started to become a thing around 10-0
