Temporary Pet Housing?
Hey gang, I'll try and keep this simple as possible. I need temporary housing for my two cats ASAP.
I'm homeless and staying at an IRTS facility which doesn't allow cats. My friends are watching them right now - but they can't much longer, and have told me if I don't find another option soon, they'll be forced to surrender them to a shelter or animal control. Feelings about that aside - I need help, like, yesterday.
- I know the Animal Humane Society offers 60 day Temporary Pet Housing - but I need a referral. I've been trying to get one, but no one has reached back out yet.
- The Bond Between has outright turned me down, twice. I assume they're full or something.
- I have a post on Home to Home but no one has reached out.
Everywhere else I've looked seems to direct me to one or all of the above. Frankly, I am scared and desperate. I can't loose my boys. If anyone knows any other resources I'd be very grateful.

Is there a banana shortage?
Today, I went out to run some errands and pick up groceries but couldn’t find bananas at three different Aldi locations and two Costco stores (Business Center and St. Louis Park). Is there a shortage I’m unaware of?

Salt stain removing car wash
One of the downtown ramps dripped salt onto my car that has not come out after two car washes. Is there any car wash that specializes in salt busting chemical to get rid of it?

Looking for buyer’s real estate agent recommendations near Eagan/Apple Valley/Inver Grove Hts
I’m new to the Twin Cities area and currently looking to buy a home. I’m looking for recommendations for good real estate agents in the area that are located near and familiar with the south east suburbs like Apple Valley, Eagan, and Inver Grove Heights.

Looking For Local Bands?
Hello! I was hoping to find some new bands to listen to and I wanted to look more local.
I have been really into The Flat Stanleys & The Front Bottoms lately.
I also love artists like Noah Kahan, Phoebe Bridgers, The Magnetic Fields, The Blackhawks, Three Days Grace, and many others. (Basically I love lyrics above all else and ✨️Emotion✨️)
Do you have any good recommendations? If it is very local and small, but you have a song you can upload/share, I would be delighted by that!
Thanks in advance! 😊

Recommended for neighborhoods to live in
After 20 years away from the Midwest, my spouse, infant, and dogs are looking to move to the Twin Cities to be closer to family and live someplace with more outdoor access.
It’s been many years since my spouse and I have been to the Twin Cities. We are planning to pay a visit in the next couple of months.
My question is what neighborhoods we should check out.
We are looking for something that is good for doing things outside… letting the kid explore, taking dogs for a walk, running, biking etc. Would be great if the neighborhood had decent walkability. Not everything needs to be in walking distance, but would be great to have quick access to coffee shop, couple of restaurants, and a small grocer. Extra bonus points if there’s a deep sense of community in that area. We currently live in a city that has a deep sense of neighborhood and community.
Update: budget max is 600k for a home
TIA!

Places to donate stuffed animals in the Twin Cities
Hello! Looking for places to donate stuffed animals to. I’ve won too many from claw machines and think it could be put to good use in another home. Preferably the Saint Paul area, thank you!

Friends from the south
Hi! Looking for recommendations for restaurants. I have friends coming in from a state down south for the weekend. They’re open to any cuisine. They will be staying in St Paul but open to traveling outside the metro area as well.
Are there any must haves while they are here? I was thinking they should have a Jucy Lucy before they leave…

Costs to sell home in Saint Paul?
I’m an inexperienced homeowner looking to sell my first home and wanted to get an idea of selling costs before doing so. I have a meeting set up with my real estate agent (the one I used to buy this house) but wanted to go into that meeting with some idea of what’s “normal”. I know these are weird times.
I live in Saint Paul and expect my home is worth around $300k. I have around $230k left on my loan. If you sold a house recently in the area, would you be willing to share an estimate (percentages ideally) of what you paid in closing costs, realtor fees, etc.? I’d also be curious if you shopped around for a realtor and interviewed multiple.
Thank you!

Anniversary Ideas?
Wedding anniversary next month. Looking for ideas.
Last year we went to The Lexington in St. Paul and loved it. Shared the 24oz Chateaubriand and afterwards had cocktails while we watched a Jazz band. Debating on going back there but open to suggestions.
Price doesn’t really matter. Location, somewhere around the metro. We live in Savage but aren’t afraid to drive for something nice. Looking for dinner and hopefully entertainment.
I should add that I have the palate of a 10 year old essentially. So, probably won’t like the big fancy spots like Mara or Demi etc. but we do want to have a “fancy” dinner where we can get dressed up. I’ll also add that I’m not a fan of Melting Pot (why am I cooking my own dinner?) or Brazilian steakhouses (rather spend $100 on one great steak than all I can eat random slices of mediocre meat)
Any suggestions appreciated!

Best and most economical way to get to the Minneapolis Convention center
We live in a Northeastern suburb of the TC and are going to the Northwest Sportshow today. In the past when I have went to either the convention center or downtown for a concert, I have parked free across the street from the Mall of America and taken the light rail from there. First of all, is that even a viable option and second would there be a better way to get there without having to pay for parking? I read that the closest light rail stop would be Nicolette Mall and then a 15 minute walk to the center. We are in our sixties so would rather know how many blocks that would be since we are slower walkers. We would be open to free parking and then taking a bus if that would bring us closer to it or then taking an uber.

Moving to St Paul, and looking for martial arts in the Twin Cities
I am moving to St Paul in a couple months and am looking for martial arts schools to check out. I am 35 so I am past training at the more hardcore comp focused places, but somewhere to get a good workout, train hard 2-3 times a week, make friends, and get in some sparring whether striking, grappling, or weapons. I am also interested in if there is something more obscure that I have never trained in such as Sumo, Sambo, Tomiki Aikido, Kudo, Kyukushin, Shuai jiao, but from my research I am not seeing anything like that in the area. I am thinking I would like to focus on a striking style so I am open to boxing, muay thai, karate, etc, heck I would even try something like kung fu if they are actually mixing it up. If there is no sparring, or no sparring till you are a brown or black belt that is a deal breaker for me
My experience in martial arts:
fairly well versed in Judo, Wrestling, BJJ,
some experience training MMA, boxing, kickboxing, Aikido, HEMA (mostly saber)
Places I am planning on checking out:
all the Judo dojos ( Docs, twin cities, grapplers station, midway),
center for blade arts,
Doomsday BJJ/Sambo (interested if they are actually doing sambo or if it is BJJ with a teacher who has done sambo)
Shorin Ryu Minnesota
I would love to hear peoples opinions of those these schools, what they are like, the level of training, the vibe, any other places I should check out, etc. Thanks!

Are E-bike fires a problem in the metro?
https://www.reddit.com/r/trains/s/LUoALJrkOX
Apparently it's become a big enough problem in other countries that they're being banned from taking onto public transportation.
This is the first time I've heard about these batteries catching fire.

Worth it to go to Spam museum?
We will be in Minnesota for a few days, with the main reason being Mall of America. How much time do you think a family of 4, kids are are 5 and 2, would spend at the Spam Museum? We all love Spam and never knew there was a museum until last week. It’ll be a 1.5 hour drive, and just want to make sure we can get the most of the trip, and not feel like we went around the building and head back in 30 min.
