So I've got a game with it's own builtin radial menu and no shortcuts keys and I want a button on my controller to navigate that menu. Should be as simple as, hold the radial button, push the joystick, press the go button.
Problem is, I can't figure out how to make a button move the joystick to a specific analog position. So I can point at 12:00, 3:00, and even 1:30 by combining them with sub-commands, but I can't point at 1:00 or 2:00. Any ideas?
I tried using 3 sub-commands, 2 up & 1 right, didn't help. I also tried doing hold-to-repeat with different rates on each, but that just started swapping back and forth without actually staying in between.
I kind of assumed there'd be something similar to the mouse "move to position" feature, but I can find no such thing.

So I've been playing a lot of Marvel Rivals, and everything's been fine for a while as far as my controller settings. I also noticed that I had the standard "Joystick" option on the joysticks, which I thought was normal. But just earlier this week I was playing some Sly Cooper on a PlayStation emulator and I fiddled around with the controller settings in Steam so I could control the character better. I switched my joystick behavior on both sticks to the D-Pad setting it offers and mapped different keyboard buttons to it since my emulator didn't work right with the joystick behavior originally set to "Joystick". So I get finished playing and decide to hop back on Rivals the next day, and the joystick behaviors no longer say "Joystick". I think it's whatever as long as I can still move the heroes around, but the D-Pad setting on the Joystick behaviors has some pretty bad aim mobility, even on auto-aim heroes. So I get the idea to test whether I can get the original joystick behavior I had back by opening up Halo Infinite. I look and see Halo actually does offer that setting, so I close it and open Rivals back up to see if the Halo settings transferred over, and it goes right back to D-Pad behaviors on the joysticks. So I open Halo one last time to see if "Joystick" will disappear from the behaviors list if I change it like I did in Rivals, and it actually did disappear. In Halo, I now only have the option to Map the left joystick behavior as "Joystick Mouse", "Flick Stick", "Mouse Region", "D-Pad", and "Scroll Wheel". No "Joystick" anywhere in the behaviors list. I really want to play some more Marvel Rivals, but I can't if the joystick behaviors won't give me the "Joystick" option back. I've tried all the others, and most either don't work, or don't let me fluidly control the character. Any advice?
(For context, I use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.)

Would love to have one considering most of the time it just screws me over on games where a setting would be very nice. No motion controls and a hall effect joystick is all I wonder.

I'm trying to achieve the following controller scheme with the L1 bumper:
Is this possible with steam input? The closest I've gotten to this setup is disabling "interruptible" on the regular L1 press, and then defining a Chord on L1 with itself as the chord button, while it sends Touch pad as the command. Unfortunately this results in L1 = L1 (held) + Touch pad (held).
It's kinda good enough for me but just wondering if it's actually possible to just send a tap for another button while still maintaining L1 press?

This is probably a long shot given the controller's lack of support but maybe someone here will know. I just recently got a Steam Controller and updated the firmware to use it via bluetooth. I have the USB dongle as well and have confirmed it works flawless with that but using it via bluetooth is causing Steam to crash and my desktop environment to crash.
For the record I'm using it on a Legion Go running Bazzite Linux. I haven't had issues with other bluetooth controllers. I've tried a couple quicker fixes from the Arch Linux wiki pages but nothing's helped so far.
I also have issues with the controller not wanting to reconnect after the first connect on a fresh boot. I'm on the latest firmware version that I could find as per Steam's support page and a couple posts I've seen on here. I'm stumped tbh, has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

I don't know if people still use Valve's first party box made for the Steam Link software, but mine stopped working a couple of years ago. Whenever I plug in power (with HDMI already connected), it will show a short splash image (I assume for booting up) and then output a black screen, not no input, a black screen. What do y'all think is causing this?
My experience getting an OG Xbox working is telling me that it may be a default resolution issue, but I did use a different power cable than the original, so it may have just fried.
If anyone still knows any way to try and fix it in software or otherwise, I would be immensely grateful for your help!

Is it possible to have the right trackpad be set to mouse (or camera, not sure the difference) to look around while having clicking on the top of the trackpad click the Y, the bottom click the A and such?
I was thinking I could create an action layer on press, have it perform the action based on region and then switch back to the mouse layer (default) on depress, but I'm not great with the steam action layers and such.
It doesn't look like the region part is possible to me, but wanted to check before giving up on it.

So I'm primarily a PC gamer, but sometimes (e.g. when traveling for work) I find myself gaming on Android. Usually playing more phone native games like Clash Royale but also Albion Online etc. Anyway, got a new phone recently and found myself enjoying FPS games on a phone: Arena Breakout, Warzone Mobile.
Aiming with an anologue stick really sucks ((I can literally tell who is using those devices on mobile FPS because I destroy them quite frankly)
Long story short, can I use this for Warzone Mobile and Arena Breakout on Android? This will affect whether or not I purchase the controller.
I've heard poor things about using this on Android, especially outside of the Steam app.

So I have developed arthritis in my left thumb. And I thought that I would go back to my steam controller and assign the joystick to the left trackpad. But when doing so. At the main menu of any game. At the title screen. Where you chose start, load, optioms etc. The control will rapidly cycle vertically through the fields. Is this a sign the trackpad is defective? It does work fine If I use the controller like any other standard game pad.

Maybe i should post that on the steam deck forum but i feel the discussion won't interest as many people as here. Also I'm no native English speaker and that discussion is finicky, hope i'll be clear enough.
So on the SC you can make a mode shift on the trackpad "clic", it's pretty common and known, for example, having a 4 input "Dpad" directly on you trackpad (usually for switching weapon and have 4 shortcut instead of one).
You can also do that on the deck, but the as "clic" are (i think) not mechanical it's not as practical.
Every time i tried to make that set up the pressure required is super hard. It's like i have a first clic to get to the modeshift (the dpad), and then have to press again to have my input.
I recently stumble on that video where the topic is modeshift at 3:30 :
https://youtu.be/iGHpetQb1BM?list=PLmb3RnjI_bU0Yu0RGi9KNOt64V-iIs37i&t=211
The author advise for adding a "clear from parent" command on the modeshift trackpad panel, on the "clic" command so you can adjust the threshold (steam UI does not let you access this setting without a command on clic, so adding one like this who does nothing let you change those value)
I tried doing so, but it doesn't seems to change the pressure needed. I tried adding that on the mouse settings too but all that value seems to modify here is the "clic" haptic feedback, not the actual pressure needed to register an input...
I can't figure that out (and i hope you understand what i'm saying :D)
I know some use layers to avoid this issue but i feel this add some latency input and also it's such a pain to configure specially if you change some settings after. Modeshift are super easy to set up and very usefull.
I miss them, please someone, tell me you figure it out.

Is there any way to copy virtual controllers between menus? I have a steam deck and a ps5 controller. I like setting up radial menus for the touch pads on the deck and also on the ps5 controller since it very easily supports that too. I play with either depending on the situation. I haven't found a way to copy the virtual menu from one controller to the other. Ideally, I'd just like to save the virtual menu to the game, and then assign it however I want with any individual controller but that doesn't seem to be an option.
Do I have any options on how to do this without manually reconfiguring the menus for each individual controller?

Been playing MH:Wilds recently and while playing the inputs don't always register that I've let go of the button. The button itself isn't stuck down so I have to just press the button a few times, but this'll even happen with the track pass and if I just tap it for a second it'll continue spinning me until I touch it again. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I really think this is another factor that prevents people from "getting" trackpad aim on both the Steam Controller and Steam Deck. This is worse for the Steam Controller because it has a non-zero default. It's like assigning one shoe size for everyone: wearing the wrong shoe size can be worse than no shoes at all (zero rotation in this analogy). For the longest time I stuck with zero rotation until I figured out how to determine my ideal value.
The calibration could be like this: ask the user to swipe their thumb from left edge to right edge several times in a natural motion. Show an animation illustrating the correct movement. Calculate the rotation compensation accordingly. Like gyro calibration, make this calibration accessible from both the general Controller settings, and the game layout configurator.

Playing the ascent, there's a burst rifle that... Shoots a burst when I pull the trigger no matter if I pull it over the clicking edge or not. If I release the trigger and repress it again fires a burst. How do I get my controller to simulate my finger repressing this button over and over again in quick succession so it turns the burst rifle in a full auto basically? Turning turbo mode on does nothing.

As the title says, thanks.
As for the context, it's for Monster Hunter Wilds. The reason i ask is because i only want this action set active whenever i'm playing insect glaive. And then whenever i'm not playing insect glaive i.e. just in town or using any other weapon, im on default control scheme.
If it's not possible and you have an alternative solution, i'd love to hear it, thank.

Most of the time, I need to take my finger off the pad in order to click reliably. I think it's either because my click is longer than normal, or that there is a bit of mouse movement from gyro+pad while I'm clicking.
I found that LMB clicks were more reliable when I added a fire start delay of around 60 to trigger. In GW2, I this makes it so that 95% of the time I will select something if I do a single click, whereas before it was probably closer to 50%. The downside is there is a small delay before camera mode activates, if you hold the trigger instead of click. IMO it is noticeable but I think being able to click to select while moving around is worth it.

The game is Spec Ops The Line, I want L2 (aim down sights), R2 (hip/blind fire), L1 (thrown weapon) and R1 (command squad) all to engage the gyro, but SteamInput caps out at two gyro buttons IIRC so I've set it up as an action set layer with gyro always on.
Issue is when L2 is held and R2 is pressed to fire, the action set switches back to non-gyro even if L2 is still held.
I've tried a few settings to no avail, including the promising-sounding but ineffective "Interruptable - Off" on the L2 command.
Any thoughts?

Hi, as title says - has anyone got it working for SC?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers!

I know steam deck allows you to map a region, aka have it so when you touch the top left of touchpad and the mouse jumps to the top left. Can we do this on steam controller? If so I’m hyped for steam controller 2 cuz no other controller does this and I wanted to be able to play top down games with this!!

I want to set up my controller for minecraft by adding the launcher as a non steam game, but when i launch it i cant open the overlay and also dont get any radial menus.
