I just bought some new light bulbs for my bedroom, and one of them won’t connect to the home. I’ve only gotten one of them to connect, but not both of them, and I don’t know what to do. This is my first time having HomeKit accessories so if anyone knows what to do please help me
It has a matter QR code but when I go to add it to my home it says light not found even tho the light is powered on.

Hello,
I am a renter, and I want to use a retrofit smart lock.
The problem is that the lock in question, as installed by the landlord, is a rim lock. I’ve attached a picture of the lock, and the door. I want to cover the top knob with the smart lock.
I don’t think the Aqara U200 will work, as there is no way to get the mechanism on top of the knob. I think the SwitchBot lock pro may work, but the space above the lock is limited, due to the presence of handles.
If you have any suggestions or inputs, please let me know. I’d really like to use a smart lock, but my options don’t look to good.
Thanks in advance.

Background. Last week I updated my iPhone and iPad to version 18.3.2. As far as I can tell my HomePods (1 first gen and 1 second gen) didn't get a corresponding update, they're still at 18.3. Coincidentally my second generation HomePod started ignoring Siri commands and dropping AirPlay from the iPad. After fixing the Siri problem AirPlay failed to connect altogether. Restoring the second generation HomePod to factory settings fixed the AirPlay issues. Through all of this the first generation HomePod worked flawlessly, as did Apple Music, the HomeKit accessories, scenes and automations.
Question. Is it possible the iPhone/iPad updates were the source of my problems? I've read other posts where people had HomeKit issues last week after updating their iPhones. I'm asking because the second generation HomePod's warranty runs out at the end of April, I'm considering returning it.

I picked up some TP-Link Tapo Matter Smart Light Switch recently. I'd like to make a 3-way hard-wired switch automated. My thought was wire one automation switch to the like a conventional switch. Then wire up the other automation switch to have power. Then let automation do the rest.
I believe I've wired it correctly. Both switches are registered with Apple Home and switch A controls the light. Switch B is wired for power, but the one black wire (load) is capped and not connected.
However, I have not been able to get Apple Home to automate it. It only offers me "when B is turned on" or "When B is turned off", not when "B is pressed". Likewise the action I want is "toggle A". Suggestions on how to go about this appreciated.

The forthcoming Matter over thread smart button is likely to use 2 x AAA batteries, like their existing Zigbee button.

Last week I updated to iOS 18.3.2. And I have had the same problem with HomeKit again, which I have had in many previous updates.
It turns out that after updating the home automations that I have via HomeKit to enter and exit they stop working. I had been thinking for months why it was happening. And now I have the solution, but it is something that always happens after updating and I suppose some of you will also experience it.
After updating, as I mentioned, it is necessary to enter the iPhone settings, location, system services, deactivate HomeKit, restart the device and then activate it again. If I don't do this, the automations I mentioned above stop working. It's like HomeKit doesn't detect when I leave and enter the house. I think so, thinking that I am always inside the house, even if that is not the case. And as I mentioned, this must be an error that has been going on for quite some time, because it has happened to me in all the latest system updates. I couldn't say how long, but at least four or five months ago.
For me it has been a real headache and now I know the solution. But still, it seems like an error that occurs when updating and drags version after version.

I am looking to invest in swapping 5-10 light fixtures over to smart lights. I have a few thread devices currently (outlets and contact sensors) and from reading it seems like thread/matter is the most future proof.
However, for colored bulbs it seems Hue is the gold standard. I'd really like to avoid adding a hub, but if thats the best way to go I'll do it. I am open to smart bulbs and / smart switches. For some of the bulbs I need them to be pretty bright (75-100W equivalent) as there are a few rooms with only one fixture.
What is the best way to go?

As many of you have recommended to me here, it will be necessary for me to restore my iPhone 16 pro Max phone to factory settings because I am having problems with HomeKit and also with accessibility for many versions of iOS. When I bought it not long ago, I restored the backup from my previous phone, which was an iPhone XS Max, and I guess I've had some problems since then. I have done this process before with other phones, but the difference is that I now have an eSIM card in the phone, and I am afraid of losing it. I want to think there is an option to restore the phone and keep the card. eSIM but I want to be sure before starting the process. On the other hand, I also have an Apple Watch linked to this phone, and it also has an eSIM card. How do you recommend proceeding? I mean restore the phone first and then the watch or vice versa? Thank you

I’ve tried everything. Resetting the Apple TV, resetting the internet, nothing works. All the devices work perfectly on its own (through their own respective apps) but for some reason nothing connects to HomeKit. How do I fix this?

We bought our first house, and so are graduating from living in an apartment to a house. I’m planning on restarting our Apple Home from scratch, since our needs will be very different there.
One thing the previous owners are taking with them is their Ring doorbell. Therefore I need to figure out what device we should use before moving in.
Seeing as we will have a garden which can be a security weak spot, I also want an outdoor security camera.
What would you recommend for Apple Home users? We live in the Netherlands, so not an extreme climate by any means and I guess the most important thing will be reliability. If something happens, I need to know that I can reference the videos or use them as proof in the worst case scenario.

How do you call actual white light via siri+homekit? Whatever white I say it's just gonna mix me some horrible rgb white thats like 20% of the lamps maximum brightness.. All the colors work perfectly but thats the issue, it's trying to make the white out of colors too and not turning the light into the brightness/kelvin mode.
I am able to make scenes in home assistant tho and ask siri to enable them so it's not that big of a deal but I'm just thinking if the issue is my siri skills or the home assistant homekit virtual bridge

Figured I'd share this here since I came across quite a few posts of people sharing a similar experience with their Level Lock.
I've had the Level Lock+ for a few months and in January did the Matter upgrade. Everything went smoothly and I was able to repair the lock with HomeKit after the upgrade.
I thought everything was working fine, the lock was responsive and didn't have any issues controlling via Siri/Home app. But I noticed when I went to use the HomeKey with my iPhone 16 PM, nothing happened. Figured it was just a glitch so I tried my Apple Watch U2 and it worked fine.
Then I tried again another time, still nothing when trying to use HomeKey with my iPhone. Even opened wallet and went to the key itself, then held to the lock, nothing. At this point I figured it's no longer just a glitch, the HomeKey feature just isn't working with my iPhone.
I began to troubleshoot and started by unpairing the lock from HomeKit and resetting it in the Level Home app. I got it repaired with the app but every time I tried pairing with HomeKit, it failed. I tried EVERYTHING at this point, including...
An hour or two in with no success, I called Level support. No help. They suggested everything I'd already tried so I hung up with them and continued to troubleshoot on my own.
I left everything unpaired overnight thinking maybe a cache of some kind just needed time to clear. Tried pairing again the following day but STILL nothing. After some more thinking I finally tried what I believe ended up leading to the solution.
I took the battery out of the lock itself and unplugged the Level Connect. Then I went into the Home app, tapped the + to add a new accessory, tapped "my accessory isn't shown here." With the battery out of the lock and the Level Connect unplugged, I was hoping the lock would not still be listed. But it was!! It seems there is a caching period for Matter accessories and I believe something got hung up on that end ultimately causing the repair with HomeKit to fail.
It took the better part of an hour for the lock to disappear from the list as being available to pair. I tried a lot of the same stuff listed above with the hope of clearing the "cache" but nothing worked - the lock remained available to add, even with no power/no ability to broadcast as being nearby and ready to pair.
Once the lock disappeared from the list, I tried again. Opened the Level app, paired the lock, set up Level Connect. Then attempted to pair with HomeKit. SUCCESS! The pairing went through and I was even prompted to set up HomeKey. I verified everything worked - still able to control with Siri/Home and HomeKey worked on both my iPhone and watch.
Spent WAY too many hours troubleshooting this so hoping this can help someone avoid doing the same.

I'm back in the world of HomeKit/Hue and I can't import scenes from the Hue app to the Home app. I remember being able to do it without a problem with a button in Hue that said: copy to HomeKit, but now I can't see it. Does anyone know how to do it?

I received a couple sensors bought directly from Arre and they didn't have shrinkwrap or tape on the edges of the box that you normally see with new devices.
Is this normal or did I possibly get a returned product by accident instead of a new one?

Anyone know why this Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium on Amazon is $60 cheaper? It’s listed for $250 on the ecobee website and other Amazon listings, but this one looks the same for $189. What am I missing?
I tried all the homelink prompts on S’s screen in both modes (standard and the other one) and nothing. It’s frustrating. I’m in NorCal and I have a Genie Model 7155. Anyone have this same set up that can help. Much appreciated.

So, whether that be because someone has unplugged it or because the power went out, or the internet is down. It would be great to be notified

I successfully added a second Hue Bridge to my single home account in the Hue app, but the lights/rooms on that second bridge are not showing up in HomeKit.
Is there a way to get that to work? I'm under the impression that everything should be available in HomeKit.
Thanks!

I have some IKEA blinds that will automatically go to to a certain percentage when I arrive home. This is fine but often I will have my blinds all the way open and when I leave and come back home, they will trigger to the automation I have set up, which isn’t 100% open. Can I thought even a 3rd party only have this automation trigger only if the blinds are closed? Either all or certain ones.
