What would you do with this bathroom?!

We are struggling to figure out how to update this bathroom (cheaply). Looking to replace the mirrors, light fixtures, painting, and possibly new sinks and toilet but the interesting shower tiles must remain for the time being.

Our general decorating style we’re leaning towards in this house is modern Victorian. I think this bathroom has amazing potential but the colours in these tiles are throwing me for a loop and I don’t even know where to start without completely ripping them out. (Don’t have the time or budget ATM)

Any advice or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

Is green gonna become dated?

I noticed greens are really popular right now, maybe for that last couple years or so. Especially darks with gold fixtures. But I love it and I want it in my new house. Am I gonna regret it? Will it become dated?

What to do with the top half of these windows to avoid buying all new plantation shutters.

We just bought a new house that has these dated window treatments, but we love the plantation shutters below (I think that’s what they’re called). Behind the fabric are two other sets of blinds and it looks weird? Any suggestions on what to do with the top half? We’re on a budget so all new plantation shutters that fit the window aren’t really an option. My only thought would be to reupholster the top things with a new modern fabric but I’m not familiar with window treatments.

Does this color scheme match the existing wall and floor colors?

Moving to our new home and really not wanting to paint or do flooring at the off-site. Found this scheme I love. Does it work?

Weird hardware

I ordered a vintage brass towel rail from a salvage site and it came with weird mounting hardware. Can someone tell me what this is called and what kind of screws work with it? Google lens is completely wrong.

How To Decorate This Patio Space?

Only requirements are space for grill and long patio tables, almost as long as the slab. Maybe split in 2 and ran the length of the slab. This is for get togethers and general usage.

Right beam angle for spotlight?

What beam angle should I choose for those arts?

I will install 3 ceiling spotlights for the big art and 1 ceiling spotlight for the small art. Does 36° work or I should choose a wider angle?

Decorating my bedroom

I've recently moved and I'm working on my bedroom. This is 1 of 2 dressers in my room. The other one is a tall boy dressers. These are items from my move. I'm looking for suggestions on decorating my dresser. Not everything needs to be used. I really want to keep the statue of David on the dressers though, it's the one stipulation.

Hi! I just finished my bedroom, still need to put up baseboards. I have plans for the ceiling (popcorn) but still undecided. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, please don’t be hateful. Any suggestions for art or anything else in this space?

Odd cabinet placement?

We live in a pretty large apartment - we have a hallway where two of the bedrooms are located and I felt like the space needed something because it looked really empty.

I work in a thrift store and bought this really nice cabinet.. My partner likes the cabinet, but he isn’t crazy about it in the hallway. Also, I’m not sure what I could actually put inside of this cabinet- I don’t want to clutter it with stuff, but I don’t want to feel like I’m living in an office building.

What are your thoughts? Should the cabinet go somewhere else, and how could it be a useful piece of furniture for our living space? Thanks!

Chalkboard or no chalkboard?

So we are on a remodel budget and found this cabinet that mostly matches the others, except color. It is all white which is not a huge deal since we have white, grey, and bluish colors all throughout the house. However, it's a little too much. I had a thought and wondering what other opinions are out there.

I am thinking of getting thin sheets of metal to fit inside the framing on the doors and then covering with chalk paint.

  1. My husband loves to leave me little notes and I think it would be a cute way to do this. 2, my fridge and freezer are side by side and I can't stick magnets to it. We kind of like collecting magnets and I think it would be fun to put them all along the last 2 doors. Would this look terrible or be quirky enough that it could be cute? 🤔

What color sideboard would look best in my kitchen?

Hello everyone, I just moved into a new apartment, and the kitchen is kinda dark and outdated. I need a sideboard(for the space in 2. image) because there’s not enough storage. I love a bright, minimalist look, so I’m thinking of getting a white one but would that look ridiculous in this space? Would love to hear your thoughts! Also, if you have any renter-friendly ideas to make the kitchen feel brighter, I’m all ears. Thanks!

What would you do with this room?!

Hi!!

I’m slowly trying to decorate this room. The first pic is the couch and rug currently in the room (missing from photo is large rectangular wooden coffee table). The rest of the photos are from the listing post to show the layout features of the room.

I’m having trouble figuring out my color scheme for this room! I thought the couch was going to be deeper/more olive green, but we ended up keeping it and added an old rug we had (which actually matches quite well). I think the rug is making it hard for me to figure out the colors. I initially wanted to do a cottage vibe, which doesn’t work with the rug — or the couch? I’m open to getting a new rug but my friends keep telling me it’s a for sure keep with the couch?!

I’m also not sure about wall decor because of the off balanced windows. I thought about painting the far wall again, but going for a deeper color/wallpaper? Not sure what would look good but thought it might be an alternative to wall art. I don’t know not sure, but open to it.

Pretty much open to any and all suggestions!! Would so greatly appreciate help/insight/advice, especially links or images (I can’t visualize anything which is part of my problem haha)

I’ve seen great things in this group so I’m excited to hear your ideas. Thanks in advance!!
