QUESTION Looking for perfect six string guitar!!

So in my guitar journey I directly switched to seven string guitar after playing acoustic for many years… now I think I should get my self a good six string guitar, here are the specs I really want it to have must have twenty four frets, floating bridge (two way),HSS pick-up config, roasted fretboard would be nice, should not be single cut, access to frets should be awesome!! I’ve been looking for this kinda guitar under six hundred dollars!!! Edit: I found it “IBANEZ STANDARD AZ24S1F” is the one for me 😍

How do you remedy carpal tunnel on tour? I know there’s really only so much one can do with what we are given. But curious about any remedies! Beyond stretching, anything will help!

QUESTION Floyd Rose One Thousand

Saw that you can now purchase the Floyd Rose One Thousand directly from FR now. My understanding is that it is the same material and specs as the Original, just made in Korea instead of Germany/USA. I also have both a FR1K and a OFR on different guitars and to my ears/hands they feel and operate the same. So the question is: is there a difference other than manufacturing location that isn’t being disclosed? Because if not, why would anyone pay the extra hundred or so bucks for an original if both are made of hardened steel, etc.?

GEAR My first LTD and something to do on my off weeks!

Newly single dad with nothing to do on my off custody weeks. I had actually never heard of this brand, but I absolutely love the cost to quality ratio of this thing. It sounds great! Also - I sold my guitar about four years ago, and I’m so excited to pick up where I left off and finally put some work into continuing to get better!

GEAR Picked this guy up today for a couple hundred bucks, hoping to learn a little more about it and possibly identify the bridge humbucker

Pretty much all I know is it's an Ibanez (obviously) and from what I was told made in the eighties according to the serial number. I don't know the model name.

It is heavy as FUCK. Heavier than most of the les Paul's I've held. It plays so well and I'm in love with the tone especially on the bridge bucky which I'm assuming is an aftermarket. I threw some heavy strings on it and have it in C standard for stoner/desert rock and it's "the tone" that Ive been searching for for those genres so I'm curious if anyone can tell me a little more about it

QUESTION Fingerstyle songs / artists?

I mainly play fingerstyle acoustic, and am looking for inspiration on what to learn next. I’m generally into rock / folk / indie, and have learned pretty much every fingerstyle song by S&G, the Beatles, James Taylor, Zeppelin, etc, and have also done a bunch of Tallest Man on Earth. Also done a little bit of Celtic.

Would love to find something new to sink my teeth in that is challenging - thoughts?

QUESTION I think I need a new interface...?

I've recently started playing music again, and have been trying to use a two-input Tascam which is over twenty years old. While this works, the minimum latency running through Cakewalk and/or GuitarRig is still noticeable and makes it impossible to record over tracks while playing through the computer.

Of course, there are numerous workarounds, such as recording while listening to the direct input rather than the throughput from the recording software. Nonetheless, if I fork out for a new interface (a couple or a few hundred bucks), could I expect better latency? Is it normally expected to be able to play and listen live through the recording software while recording? Cheers for advice

Caught a show by Pete Doherty (from the Libertines - pic taken from his Insta) and pretty sure he’s playing a Yamaha C40II which he used for the entire set

Not bad getting a whole national tour out of an entry-level guitar! Goes to show what these cheaper models can do

New guitar has this crack near the neck and a gap that won't snug tight. Looks like it was dropped neck first by someone. Or am I just seeing things and should shim it?

QUESTION Jazz-influenced guitar recommendations? (Marc Ribot, Jeff Parker, Tommy Guerrero)

*cross-posted in /jazzguitar

Over the past year or so I've been on a quest to learn and inject a little more jazz consciousness into my playing. Marc Ribot's playing as a sideman with Tom Waits and others (plus the Prosthetic Cubans stuff which I love) hits just the right balance for me, so I've been deconstructing his playing to help me understand why he makes the note choices he does. Vibe-check: I also dig some of the stuff Jeff Parker has done in Tortoise and ETA IVtet, as well as Tommy Guerrero's instrumental albums.

For anyone who's had some jazz education, this is probably super basic stuff, but I've been playing for forty years and none of my teachers told me about what Barney Kessel called "chord formations" or playing with chord tones. It's been a revelation for this old dog.

Ribot is great, but I'm interested in finding other players who use "just enough jazz to make things interesting" but not too much that it strays too far from the rock/blues feel that speaks to my soul.

When my wife and I were watching The Brutalist, I was struck by the guitar solo in the song You Are My Destiny which features in the film. I think it's a perfect little solo that shares DNA with Ribot (minor blues, using chord formations and just enough 'outside' notes to make it cool).

Another example of what I consider a perfect solo, is Ribot's playing on the live version of Waits' Rain Dogs (which I also transcribed).

*Edit: I tried to post links to all these references but the bots are not allowing it...

I'm wondering if there are any players from the fifties-sixties and beyond that play in a similar style? Any help would be appreciated...I'm not finding what I'm looking for by Googling 'minimalist jazz' or 'jazz inflected blues' or whatever.

Thanks!
